Same. As armystay while watching this I realized there are about a million documentary like videos like this for bts but this is the first one I'm seeing for skz. I definitely wish there were more especially for a team like them cause theres a lot of explaining to do lol. But I'm glad there's at least one really good one people can keep coming back to😊
I loved the way you framed how they are carrying on the legacy of the generations before them! It's so annoying when western media diminishes them to "are they the next BTS?" because no, they aren't trying to be the next anything, they are the first Stray Kids. I did miss that one of the only JYP groups you didn't mention in here was 2PM, who have inspired multiple Stray Kids members and are big supporters of them, and helped JYP secure influence in Japan before TWICE was created. They were also formed on a survival show! Totally get you can't talk about everything in a video lol, just wanted to mention them so people in the comments don't forget how essential they were to keeping the lights on at JYP before the 3rd gen took off.
Yes!!! I am an army and also a stay and I couldn’t agree more… They are leaders and deserved to be respected individually for what they both have been through… ❤
This is how wish kpop reporters/journalists talked about skz. As a die heart STAY, it makes me proud to see them grow bigger and bigger each year, and I can't wait to see what more they got this year. Thank you for this video, and for showing what great of a group skz are.
yeah because i remember when i started seeing vids of eg bts like this and showing how much they've grown, and now my boys skz are literally becoming so big as days go on and achieving so much :(
I remember when Stray Kids debuted. GOT7 was poorly marketed and managed, many believing due to the contract split (the group earned more than the company), along with DAY6 sitting well-known but still lukewarm in growth as a band. And so it seemed that after G.O.D and Rain, that JYPE would struggle with boy groups. It felt like even JYP put lots of parameters on the boys at first- his advice to Bang Chan was that he couldn't rap as well as Han and Changbin so he just shouldn't. He thought that while Felix was one of the most popular members on the predebut survival show, his lacking Korean would hinder the group. Staff told Hyunjin he doesn't have to try and shouldn't push himself too hard because he's handsome anyways. As such it felt like during Stray Kids first 2-3 years, their company looked at them through the lense of what they SHOULD be as a kpop act. And not at what they had the potential to become. Meanwhile, Bang Chan had a vision for the group. He picked the members because he cherished them, and because he could see which piece they were in the puzzle of a group. He saw their potential, their individual skill sets, and knew how to bring each members unique skills forward and make them shine. And the boys didn't blow up at debut either. They were well anticipated since they were debuting after GOT7 under the big3, but it wasn't like TXT or New Jeans. They debuted more quietly and it took them almost a year to get their first music show win. Hell, their arguably most popular track, God's Menu, never even got a win. They continued to slowly build themselves up, develop a steady and strong fan base. It really feels like Stray Kids never had anything handed to them on a silver platter by their company or by the industry. It feels like they went out there, blood sweat & tears, and worked HARD to establish themselves in the industry. To prove they were worthy of recognition. And I think that's what resonates with a lot of kpop fans and STAYs: these boys EARNED their position as leaders in 4th gen kpop. You can see their passion and creativity radiating off of them, their love for the job in everything they do. And you see it in other groups too, but there's something about the authenticity of Stray Kids that just grabs your attention and doesn't let it go. **End note: Amazing video. Well put together, and great use of article headings and talking about the history of JYPE and kpop as a whole. I'm an Aussie, and while that doesn't give me more weight or anything as a STAY, I want you to know that SKZ is probably the most popular kpop group here because of Channie and Felix and that we appreciate and are touched by content like this that is so well made in promoting the boys and in celebrating the success of the boys. Props to you and wishing you luck in your future videos!
Chan’s vision and conviction is otherworldly. His ability to spot talent in good kids is magical. I don’t think I can thank God enough for creating Chan and put his kids in his life. Stray Kids is genuine, not a company creation to copy anything or cater to trend.
The reason why "gods menu" didnt win was because its not catchy or music oriented. Gods menu is a track which you only play once and then forget about it. I catched myself watching the MV because of the visuals of Bangchan and Hyujin and not because of the music
@@nerostile333 not true, I liked God's Menu for the music first . Everyone has different music taste. I listen to this song daily. The reasons why it never got a win were others, sadly, involving sh*tty stuff that most stays and baby stays don't know about :(
ok now we have to treat this vid like one of those "guide to skz" videos and recommend it to every reactor on the planet cuz this is the one of the bests I watched
A part of why I was drawn to stray kids is their personality. A month ago, I barely listened to KPOP but I stumbled across BC and F interview with Eric Nam and they captivated me so much that within a week, I listened to their music, watched their lives/shows and bought tickets for their show which was in two days. I barely knew how to sing some of their songs because I just started listening to them and it was my first KPop concert. However, their show was so great that they have quickly climbed my charts and be one of my top artists. Although I keep in mind the parasocial rs I have with them, their friendship is so warm, genuine and smtg you just want to be a part of that I just had to see them live. I hope for all the best in their future!
lol same! I got into them just pre-Christmas after autoplay rolled onto a ‘k-pop stars using Aussie slang’ short. I was super resistant to k-pop because I had a massive 1D phase on the dl and wasn’t looking to fall down that rabbit hole again, but Stray Kids sucked me in. They are just super charming and the group dynamic is so interesting, plus their music really hits with the dopamine. I knew when I learnt the Thunderous choreo that it was all over for me 😂 I just went to both nights in Melbourne, it was sick.
@@JonathanMillerMusic hey, at least you got a laugh out of it, I’ll take it because I did make the comment with the intent for it to be funny since it’s kind of an obvious statement
I love how informative this is. Not only touching the history, but also explaining technical terms. I am a Wing's era ARMY and an Oddinary era STAY. As an ARMY-STAY, I am so proud of what my artists had, have, and will achieve. I am especially excited to see Stray Kids lead and dominate because of their artistry, their multi-talent, and their innate goodness. Yes, they are the protectors of a legacy that broke through barriers. As of the of this time, adding to their growing lists of achievement is debuting at #7 on the IFPI Global Artist Chart.👏👏 I am all here for THE RISE OF STRAY KIDS.
Just came back from seeing their two shows in Sydney - honestly, theyve got great star factor and I think theyll just go from strength to strength. They've got the talent to go far!
@@JonathanMillerMusic the concert was really amazing!! they all had awesome stage presence and they were very funny. interacted with us stays a lot, and they made the sweetest speeches at the end that warmed everyone's hearts.... there was not a moment that i was ever bored during the concert. i really hope you can see them perform live in the future, because they are truly talented!! the members have also gotten better at speaking english, and they spoke in mostly english. i only saw them in 1 show in sydney but i can guarantee they were good. :) you can find footage of the concert on youtube if you search for it
For me personally, their music is so widely stimmy, with relatable, emotional, and/or badass lyrics……and they cover so many genres that I don’t get bored when I put them in shuffle and I love seeing the different sides/flavors of them. The fact that they’re self produced makes everything that much more impressive, personals, admirable, and enjoyable Then the members themselves-they’re so goofy, endearing, kind, funny, chaotic, it’s so hard not to adore them. As a group they have so much chaotic chemistry and I love watching them in variety shows and concert clips. I’ve been to one of their concerts and it was PHENOMENAL. They’re such incredible performers and they have so much energy and charisma and fun on stage!
Your reasons are literally why I end up listening to skz A LOT MORE than I shuffle artists and songs coz not only are their voices distinct, so are their genres. I honestly only ever streamed without getting to know the members so being able to call myself a STAY solidified when I learned more about them!
BIG SAME! They fit so many genres but each song they create and/or cover has their own specific touch and sound that makes it so special🥹 Like, even for awards shows when they change and remix different elements of their songs and choreos, it’s always exciting and new, but it still feels like THEM and represents what Stray Kids is♥️
Actually Lee Know was on tour with BTS until July 2nd, 2017, then entered JYP on July 15, then the JYP trainee showcase on Stray Kids survival show was on August 22nd, just a month later he was already a Stray Kids member on the reality show!! Quite impressive how short his trainee days were.
It was crazy how fast his life had changed forever. I will forever be grateful to the person who recommended Lee Know to JYPE (I suspect Girin of Souldance because she was a dance teacher for jype that year). I also am grateful for Chan to agree adding a brand new member he hadn’t had much time to vet. Lee Know turned out a perfect fit, adding so much dance knowledge and real life wisdom to his Stray Kids siblings. He is one of the most well adjusted and unique entertainer I have come across.
Chan didn't agree to add Lee Know. He chose him. He heard about a new trainy that had learned all the JYP dances in a matter of a couple of weeks, and he went to see who this amazing person was. Once he saw Lee Know dancing, he wasted no time in approaching Lee Know and asking him to join the group and be their dance leader.
Stray Kids are doing so much for not only the kpop industry, but the global music industry. Their incredibly unique sound is going to be influencing music for decades to come. They have really taken inspiration from everyone before them and everyone around them and proven that art is not dead in an industry that does churn out a lot of cookie cutter songs. I was DEVASTATED last year when the Seattle tickets for the Maniac tour sold out in minutes and didn't get any. Then they added a SECOND Seattle date and I got to see them. They were absolutely incredible to see live, but beyond that, a Korean group packing a stadium in Seattle, WA two nights in a row is a HUGE feat. I'm not surprised that Maxident broke even more records after Maniac and I have a feeling they are only going to explode from here. I love them, their music, and everything they stand for. I wish them nothing but every single success that they wish for.
They have greater freedom to be creative and have distinct personalities to connect with each other and fans. They have good looks, talent, drive, and work ethic. Universe has been working its magic for Stray Kids since the day Bang Chan was born.
@@33Jenesis that is what stands out to them. it is almost like or maybe that is what it is: jyp gives them since debut the maximum of freedom in creating their art. it is almost like: now the children learned how to fly and that is why I let them go and be. Writing and producing 100% own music is what stands out for them and will let them be present and on top in the industry long lasting. And that be sustainable while still staying incredible grounded as people and true to their values. not forgetting they are family and where they started it all. and what as well stands out, like skz kinda seems to not involve themself in any drama that happens in kpop but keep doing their own stuff. which only speaks good about them.
As an ASTRONAUT era STAY (the messiest and saddest era of them all) I am emotional watching this video. Seeing SKZ world domination before my eyes is such a dream come true.
ปีที่แล้ว +8
Only missed the little detail about how they're the first EVER korean artist to have all their entry in BB200 at number 1.
If only because of Kim Seungmin's cuteness alone, I won't be a STAY now. If only because of MIROH alone, I won't be a STAY now. and if only because of Side Effects that dropped when I'm in a midst of my mental illness crisis alone, I probably not a STAY anymore now. I realized that I am a STAY now because of Stray Kids. How talented they are, how amazing their works, how funny and inspiring they are! Thank you for this wonderful video 😊🙇
I'm waiting for people to react to this video, it's informative and really cool. *Lee Know did not train for 1 year, he joined JYP in July 2017, Survival Show started filming about a couple of months later and debuted in March 2018.
@@JonathanMillerMusic Don't worry It's ok, I really like the video anyway. I hope more people start making vídeos like this for SKZ so thank you for doing it.
To be honest skz what brought me to K-pop and I’ve never ever been happier it was the best decision of my life.. now my only wish is to be able see them on tour/concert at least once.. after all they gave a meaning to my life
I came across K-Pop about a couple of months ago as a 56 yr old Turkish woman who had no idea about Korean Music Industry. Heck, I didn't even know BTS. Now, I am a big fan of Stray Kids and will forever be a Stay. I listen to other groups too but my bias is SKZ. Their incredible talent is like a magnet. Thank you for this video.
This video is so well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. The way you eloquently included so much information in such a comprehensive and easily digestible way is 🤌. I truly appreciate you showcasing my sweet, talented kings StrayKids 🥰. They are my ult group and they hold a very special place in my heart. I also appreciate how you showcased the talented groups who struggled and paved the way for kpop's international recognition as well, without making it seem like StrayKids is just riding their coattails to fame. StrayKids have worked very very hard to create their own music and sound so that they can take pride in their work and not be considered "the next BTS". BTS are the one and only BTS and StrayKids are the one and only StrayKids and they both deserve their flowers independently ❤❤❤. Once again thank you so much for this video! As Bang Chan always says, here's a "BIG HUG" for you 🫂🫂🫂.
Yes Yes Yes! Thank you for saying all that, I really do appreciate the kind words, *hug*, and feedback. I don't like to make videos that imply so-and-so rode the coattails of someone else or this is a copy of that person (or whatever.) I think everyone in K-Pop has worked very hard to earn the recognition they've gotten and if I can share some of that history to people who might not otherwise see it, I'll choose it every time and do my best! ❤️
@@JonathanMillerMusic Exactly! Everyone in kpop is incredibly talented, have their own unique colors and deserve so much recognition for all of their hard work and dedication 💖.
I had no interest in k-pop until I heard Stray Kids. Since then I found a few others. But Stray Kids are my love. I have a lot of respect for them and everything they have done to get where they are.
I think what catches everyone’s eyes when it comes to stray kids is that stray kids are self made brought together by bangchan. They make their own music so it’s unique. It’s different than others it’s something you hear and want to keep listening to and addicted to. And I think that’s different than any other group. They have grown so fast and have deserved it. They had such a difficult time at first and now here they are one of the most loved kpop groups. And 4th gen leaders. Making their way number 1 on billboard 200/100 3times. And being one of the biggest kpop acts. Selling millions of album copies and they have done this all by themselves. I’m only 4 years. No they aren’t replacing Bts but they are making a new generation a NEW NAME. Skz and bts Are different just people they are popular doesn’t mean they are the same and I’ve had so many people say things like this but they aren’t the same. They are different bts made a path and now it’s time for stray kids to pave a path their own way.
I got into kpop in 2018 and BTS, like many, quickly became my ult group.... but the group that has ALWAYS been making my favorite music since getting into the genre is Stray Kids. In my opinion, their group is unrivaled in the music they create. I'm so happy they've become so popular because they deserve every ounce of it.
They really do have a unique discography. I always see them a modern day Queen. There is something magical when a group can create their own art and perform it.
SKZ well deserves all the accolades and awards, because they do create and produce all their own music. They are my favorite group! Amazing talented members.
I love stray kids because they are different . They don't sound like any other group ...they are harder and more rock less pop in my opinion.. And their videos are some of the best on you tube . Mini movies each one of them
also update on February 22 Stray kids Debut at 7 on IFPI Global Artists Chart TOP 10 making stray kids the 3rd k pop act in history to ever make it on IFPI Global Artist Chart only BTS, SEVENTEEN AND NOW STRAY KIDS HAS BEEN ON THIS CHART. to show how big this is the weekend is Spotify most streamed Artist and we all know Spotify is the biggest streaming platform in the world the weekend has only been featured on this Chart top 10 only 3 times. the most streamed artist in the world, so this just shows you how hard it is to chart on IFPI charts so lets all congratulate stray kids on making their global debut on this chart.
as a STAY who supported them way back 2017 I believed that they will be big. No cap. The first time that I heard 'hellevator' during their survival show I know that they will be more. And guess what? They did. They actually did. and just remembering how proud I was when they first got a million streams/views to now which they get atleast 100M streams every month even without new releases makes me emotional. I am happy to be one of those STAYs who witnessed the growth of Stray Kids throughout the year. One thing is for sure, even though new groups debut in the following years, stray kids won't be forgotten. They build a fandom who really liked them, who really enjoyed their music, who really stan them because of their music and not just because of 'craze'. Stray Kids is big now, but they will be bigger. They didn't reached their peak yet. And we, STAYs, are with them and will believe in them. Thank you for making such amazing music, Stray Kids.
Happy that skz growth in popularity are steady increasing day by day and they are World wide things. They are not just viral things ( not last long) . I see Many popular group didn't know details of singing, notes or even Key they knows nothing about their craft they are just presenter But with stray kids they are creater+presenter of the song . They are the only group till date)that shift focus from just popularity to creativity and quality of music . plus only group in k-pop that connect you with reality,🤔 think all other group give a imaginary world to you. They made many record in artist field 3racha is the only group they have most copyright, they are the youngest in the top song writer/producer, they are only group that 3 member in kcoma are parmanent .Start of their discography their song are experimental and their sound, music, lyrics are very innovative and fresh plus they are realistic and connect with you. They are very true to their artistic self, they have very unique, experimental , innovative music, that is very different from main stream music they are not afraid of experiments new sound you see in their music. They have very diversity in gener wise,in subject wise , in sound wise, lyrics wise, they are step out and make their own music.many who follow them through the journey are mature listener because have reason to listen their music they prove continuesly themselves in years with every comeback and what they are capable of and that's why they listen to them now. They make their own path they are not blindly run for success and now success is following them. k-pop future music is define and shaped by stray kids music. Not only k-pop but in genera music industry ( Japan ,usa, Australia, collaboration etc) is define by them. They definately areworking in the industry very long time. There no shock if we see them working in their 80's .
And the best thing is all of the young men in Stray Kids hv not reached their peak yet. They are still in their early 20s...which means they hv rooms to grow their potentials
This video : "The Rise of STRAY KIDS - JYP Entertainment's REAL Secret Weapon (Deep Dive) " is One of my Favourite Videos on Our StrayKids.!! How Beautifully the Creator explained from Kpop History to The Important Role Our StrayKids are playing in this K-pop Industry.! StrayKids are Irreplaceable..! The Hardwork this Self Producing Group is doing since the Very beginning is just Phenomenal! I really Hope People out there sees this video and Realise that Straykids are Not "Next Something", THEY ARE STRAYKIDS, EPITOME OF HARD WORK AND TALENT.
ive only been listening to stray kids for 2 years and i have to say that they are probably my favourite kpop band. they are always making such good songs and there vocals are amazing, i can never get sick of their voices
Thank you for all the fact checking and mounds of info you digested and explained in this vid. The backstory of K-pop is an important part of it’s success so thanks for explaining that to everyone.
Exactly, as an old k-fans, sometimes i feel so helpless with young fans who refuse to respect or at least acknowledge the hard work of senior groups. They won't listen to whoever mentions that 1st and 2nd gen is paving the way for todays groups 😥 so this kinda video is really meaningful to me.
You didn't just talk about StrayKids and JYP, but for the whole KPOP industry. I love how you credited the past generations for theur contributions in their own respective eras- how you explained things from a vague topic up to the tiniest details wothout confusing the viewers. It was informative and concise. New/ young Kpop stans need to watch this. This is the kind of video that I want YT to recommend to kpop stans. Thank you for this well put content
honestly k-pop was kind of back thought of mine for a long time but when skz came along i just *felt* that their songs were "real" and thats when i fell in love with them. before i became a stay i heard their song "side effects" and thought "wow this is so sick" and a couple years later i checked them out again and thought - theyre sooo good and i cpuld listen to them for days! - skz forever!
I've been a fan of Stray Kids since their survival show, and I'm so unbelievably proud to see how far they've come! The things that make Stray Kids so special are how genuine they are. Whether it's their music or interaction with their fans, you can also see it in their friendship as a group! Everyone can see how hungry they are to achieve their dreams. That's why I'll continue to support Stray Kids through their journey!
@@JonathanMillerMusic I actually do,it's the last episode of the survial show when they announce that they could all debut as a whole(the relive and joy they must've felt, just made me soo happy),and their first win on national televion🌸❤️
The secret weapon that JYPE themselves didn't believe on 😅.. for Straykids just proved JYPE and whole Kpop industry wrong with their talents and special connection with fans...nobody expected them to be this big at first.
Well done!! Love how you dove into the history of not only JYP but kpop. This was so informative. Thank you so much for making this video. I will be sharing it! :)
I know about k-pop since 2013, cause one of my friends is a huge fan. So, since 2013 I'd been listening to some k-pop songs sometimes, but never really liked any group. It was before I discovered Stray Kids. I just randomly watched their Thunderous MV and immediately fell in love. Their music is so unique and diverse. My brain is addicted to the constant information flow (yeah, I'm a child of the internet), that's why majority of pop songs, including k-pop, sound kinda plain and boring to me (I mostly a rock/metal fan). I need something flashings and noisy and skz are just perfect. It's only my opinion, but I think they are the best thing happened to k-pop.
I've been a JYP Artist fanboy since 2007 and I can say that Stray Kids is JYP's recollection of his misjudgments on 2PM and Got7. This is a good aspect (just an aspect of the whole picture as I no longer hold news on the other sides of being an artist under the said agency) of JYPe.
This is one of those videos that makes you proud to be a STAY our kids achieved so much, it's great to be part of this and I can't wait to see what future holds for us
I just watched this before going to sleep, and I'm going to bed happy and inspired tonight, it makes me really happy to see people recognize their work and also the fact that they are not trying to be the next BTS, but to create their own name in the industry and promote what was before them and help and inspire the next generation, also the fact that they are the only (or one of the few) group which write, compose and also arrange their music, which, for me, it's something amazing, they are singing what they want and helping people through their lyrics, also promoting self-produced music inside the industry. I don't know if I am the only Stay who feel this, but, after listening to lots of musicians, from western and Korean music mostly, once I found Stray Kids, I felt that it has to be that way... I think that out there is a musician for each person, and Stray Kids is the one for me, not only their talents, but their vision, their personalities, their ways to do music, it's something I find amusing, I'm really thankful for this video. Sorry if there are mistakes, English is not my first languages. Stray Kids everywhere all around the world, you make Stray Kids stay
For someone with a short attention span, this video glued me to my seat. Thank you for putting out a content like this. This brings back so much memories. I am proud and happy of what Stray Kids has become and the direction they're heading to. And I know the kids feel the same thing as well. They are also wonderful performers that keep on creating GENIUS PERFORMANCES. They're witty and have so much to offer. Their energy and passion for what they do is incredible and I only wish I could be half as talented or motivated as them but they're making me feel like I can do anything. Seriously though, I've never met any group like Stray Kids. They are the first and last Stray Kids indeed. Alsoooo... Love how you included their tagline at the very end like their contents. STRAY KIDS EVERYWHERE ALL AROUND THE WORLD. YOU MAKE STRAY KIDS STAY!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback because it helps me make better videos. Stray Kids definitely deserves the love and I'm glad my video made you smile! :))
This video is all you needed to hear about Stray Kids, there are so many misconceptions about them and their success that it doesn't allow you to see further, where their achievements and contributions are.
Thank you for this well informed video. I’m in my 40s and absolutely love Stray Kids and their music! They’re super creative and talented artists and performers and just really nice people too. I’m so proud of how far they’ve come and who they are, how much they care about each other and their music and message.
I just want to thank you on behalf of all STAYs for creating this video. There are a few people that recognize not only the success of their favourites, but also artists that came before and after them. You did so much justice to StrayKids and all of K-Pop in general. So thank you, thank you very much!
I love the way you included background information on the company and the industry, it really brings a lot of context on how things have lead up to this point and really emphasizes the flush of their growth. I got into them in early 2020 when I was adverse to kpop - absolutely did not like it, until I found them through the TH-cam algorithm and was curious enough to know why a song would be named "Side Effects" lol. Ever since I've adored their unique and experimental journey and their equally quirky personalities but never had a lot of knowledge about kpop itself and where they fit in the entirety of it - this video does an awesome job putting that into perspective! Thank you for the great video :)
That's amazing and really makes me happy to hear. I have a ton of videos like this one about Kpop's history and how it has kind of developed into what it is, if you ever feel like checking them out. Not trying to make you stan anyone in particular hahaha but if you get curious -there's always more to learn! ❤️
i am not saying that the last sentence of the video made me tear up, but I'm also not denying it this was a beautifully made video, thank you so much for it
wow the ending part got me so bad!! all the facts well said!! stray kids are musicians before idols for me, cuz 95% of their songs comes from themselves and their artistry is so amazing and it feels real, too much close to heart. With all the achievements they still deserve to be heard more cuz they are so unique and special, they are their own genre and that's why their success is unmatched and important!!
extremely well done. full of proper research adn honestly quite tearjerking at times. skz is making sure kpop doesnt get painted over as some fad to never be seen again. they have a huge task that theyre effortlessly fulfilling. so glad to watch it happen.
I notice some other STAYs making a couple of corrections. Please know that that is done with love and that we ALL appreciate the way you made this video, the way you respect and mention other artists from the past and the present, and showing that SKZ are not out to take anyone's spot. Stray Kids are huge about respecting other artists that came both before and after them, including BTS, and always try to get their fans to not throw hate at other artists. I know many Kpop artists have made songs about how awful and draining the 'internet wars' and the online hate can be. Bang Chan literally tries to get Stays to not do that stuff.
only been a stay some months now, but seeing how the team work is so different from normal groups, since chan recruited them, they make their own music, has a say in dance, and members outside 3racha also does some music
Thank you! As a songwriter myself I think sometimes it gives me a great chance to explain some of that so people can see WHY things like Bang Chan learning about MIDI and music production is a really cool thing. TY for watching!!
The Fact That I Got Into Kpop Again Because Of Enhypen And Stray Kids Is Crazy. I became a Blink and Army In 2017-2018, but I decided to unstan them again. In late 2021-2022 I discover enhy and after 1-2 months stanning them, I came across Domino X pon mi which generally I was curious on who stray kids were so decided to check their latest mv which was "Case 143 " releasing 2-4 months ago ( I think? ) And bro I became obsessed currently having 3-4 upcoming Felix pcs going to be delivered, and also planning to buy 2 albums of maxident. Being A Felix And Hyunjin Stan, As I'm grateful that I became a stay because of them.
Tq for this Video.. And I real Like your Ending Statemen.. Which include STRAY KIDS sign .. "STRAY KIDS EVERY WHERE ALL AROUND THE WORLD ,, MAKE STRAY KIDS STAY"
Was never interested in American boy bands, rap, hip-hop, much less K-pop...guys or girls. And then Stray Kids hit my homepage feed via the YT algorithm. Me meets Stray Kids rabbit hole. 😄 Great snapshot intro to Stray Kids and the growth of the K-pop industry!
Thank you for this video. Stay is so proud of our Kids!! I am thankful for the groups that came before them and for SKZ being the pioneers they are, so that we can enjoy more Kpop groups here in the States. Felix is the one who drew my attention, but Hyunjin became my bias really quickly and still is and always will be. I love how every song is so different and they are always connecting with us, the fans, in different ways. I finally get to see them in concert in April and I am so excited!!
That's so exciting! I'm jealous you get to go. Take lots of photos and videos but don't forget to just enjoy the moment too. That's gonna be so much fun! 🔥
I love Stray Kids so much that they literally consumed all my savings 😂 But as a Stay, I'm both hopeful and worried for their future. I have been a kpop fan since second gen, and I've stanned a lot of JYP artists. If there's anything JYP sucks at, it's capitalizing momentum. Almost all JYP groups have iconic eras that made their mark in the industry, but JYP just don't know how to manage their artists and the expectations of fans. Luckily, SKZ have more control over their content and their promotions unlike previous JYP groups. I'm really hoping JYP doesn't fuck this up cause I don't know what to do without Bang Chan and SKZ.
Trust Chan. He’s not only talented and kind, he is also a very shrew businessman. He probably knows kpop industry and management style more than anyone. I think he’s been careful not to make the same mistake. Stray Kids is his family. He will never let go of protecting it and keeping it a safe place no matter how far away the kids are in the future. I do pray for Chan’s health and safety often because I want him to be there for Stray Kids and Stay for decades and decades.
I think this has to be the best video dedicated to Stray Kids I have ever seen. Starting from the facts right to their significance, it did not leave any stone unturned. AMAZING!!!
Thank you for making this video, showcasing how important they are for the kpop music world, or even the music world in its entirety! The fact they're making their own music and how diverse it still can be, makes it so amazing and ppl need to know that Korean artists are just as much artists as any other western singer
Korean musicians and composers are to be recon with. A friend of mine is a Berklee College of Music grad. He said the Korean instrumental major students and composing/arranging students were scary talented. And there were a lot of them, out paced Japanese students by a lot.
My dude you had me tearing up at the end there. Idk how I went from being vaguely aware of kpop to being obsessed with SKZ in the matter of like... two weeks, but if it's not a testament to their lightning in a bottle powers, I don't know what is. Thanks for the great rundown!
These are the kind of videos about StrayKids that I wish are all over the Internet. Thank you for this one.
Aww thank you, that really does mean a lot! I'm hoping people will share it because SKZ deserves more recognition IMHO 🔥
Agree
Agree,they deserve everything❤️
Same. As armystay while watching this I realized there are about a million documentary like videos like this for bts but this is the first one I'm seeing for skz. I definitely wish there were more especially for a team like them cause theres a lot of explaining to do lol. But I'm glad there's at least one really good one people can keep coming back to😊
cool! They deserve being recognized 💘🫰🏽Bang Chan is 🔥 SKZ all around the world, greetings from Colombia 🇨🇴
Yes Yes Yes!! Thank you! 2PM played a bigggg part in the Hallyu Wave! We'll have to discuss 2PM/2AM in a future video :))
@@JonathanMillerMusic Please do that. 2PM is my first kpop idol. Cannot wait to see their version on your channel

This is how wish kpop reporters/journalists talked about skz. As a die heart STAY, it makes me proud to see them grow bigger and bigger each year, and I can't wait to see what more they got this year. Thank you for this video, and for showing what great of a group skz are.
Thank you for saying that! I'm glad you enjoyed it! What are your fave SKZ songs?

One of the best videos I've seen about Kpop and STZ in general. Thank you for your work and all the facts you said while being neutral.
I can’t wait for people to start making videos like this for skz, their giving the next best thing.
🥰 I'll just stay ahead of the curve hahaha (glad u liked it!)
yeah because i remember when i started seeing vids of eg bts like this and showing how much they've grown, and now my boys skz are literally becoming so big as days go on and achieving so much :(
Honestly with the numbers they are putting out and their impressive discography: the aren't the next big thing, they are the big thing.
that made me think of that one meme with lino and the news reporter 😭😂😂😂
Well said. You have it spot on! 👍🏼👍🏼🌹
Chan’s vision and conviction is otherworldly. His ability to spot talent in good kids is magical. I don’t think I can thank God enough for creating Chan and put his kids in his life. Stray Kids is genuine, not a company creation to copy anything or cater to trend.
best comment by far

I hope for all the best in their future!
omg that's amazing! Did you enjoy the show??

I also watched that very interview about 2 months ago and became a STAY!
I knew when I learnt the Thunderous choreo that it was all over for me 😂
I just went to both nights in Melbourne, it was sick.
This is why i have faith in them from the very beginning, i knew SKZ will go far and they deserve it from all the hard work im proud to be Stay

Lee Know trained for a month before the survival. He did not train for a year
For me personally, their music is so widely stimmy, with relatable, emotional, and/or badass lyrics……and they cover so many genres that I don’t get bored when I put them in shuffle and I love seeing the different sides/flavors of them. The fact that they’re self produced makes everything that much more impressive, personals, admirable, and enjoyable
Then the members themselves-they’re so goofy, endearing, kind, funny, chaotic, it’s so hard not to adore them.
BIG SAME! They fit so many genres but each song they create and/or cover has their own specific touch and sound that makes it so special🥹
Like, even for awards shows when they change and remix different elements of their songs and choreos, it’s always exciting and new, but it still feels like THEM and represents what Stray Kids is♥️
And that's why they are 4th gen leaders. They just are...special
who else teared up during the elimination scenes 😭so proud of our boys, and grateful they're getting the recognition they deserve
i full on started sobbing 😭
If I were JYP I'd feel like a proud father.

You said it 🥹♥️
@@33Jenesis that is what stands out to them. it is almost like or maybe that is what it is: jyp gives them since debut the maximum of freedom in creating their art. it is almost like: now the children learned how to fly and that is why I let them go and be.

Exactly what I wanna say. I´m so happy that he mentions that is not that they want to take BTS´place, they need to continue what Kpop artists started.
Mini movies each one of them
also update on February 22 Stray kids Debut at 7 on IFPI Global Artists Chart TOP 10 making stray kids the 3rd k pop act in history to ever make it on IFPI Global Artist Chart
only BTS, SEVENTEEN AND NOW STRAY KIDS HAS BEEN ON THIS CHART. to show how big this is the weekend is Spotify most streamed Artist and we all know Spotify is the biggest streaming platform in the world the weekend has only been featured on this Chart top 10 only 3 times. the most streamed artist in the world, so this just shows you how hard it is to chart on IFPI charts so lets all congratulate stray kids on making their global debut on this chart.
Yes! I'm so happy for them!
SKZ’s music never disappoints.
yet they're sooo humble
as a STAY who supported them way back 2017 I believed that they will be big.
Beautifully said. Stray kids world domination 😌❤️
This is one of those videos that makes you proud to be a STAY our kids achieved so much, it's great to be part of this and I can't wait to see what future holds for us
STRAY KIDS LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!
The best ❤❤❤ Jeongin and Hyunjin my favorite 💓 💖 💕 💗❤ love ❤❤❤❤❤
They are my favorite group, I get to see them live next month and I’m beyond excited
That’s amazing! I’m so jealous of everyone who’s going to see them live! 😭😭😭
i am not saying that the last sentence of the video made me tear up, but I'm also not denying it
this was a beautifully made video, thank you so much for it
wow the ending part got me so bad!! all the facts well said!! stray kids are musicians before idols for me, cuz 95% of their songs comes from themselves and their artistry is so amazing and it feels real, too much close to heart. With all the achievements they still deserve to be heard more cuz they are so unique and special, they are their own genre and that's why their success is unmatched and important!!
I just have one thing to say, STRAY KIDS EVERYWHERE ALL AROUND THE WORLD, YOU MAKE STRAY KIDS STAY ✨
extremely well done. full of proper research adn honestly quite tearjerking at times. skz is making sure kpop doesnt get painted over as some fad to never be seen again. they have a huge task that theyre effortlessly fulfilling. so glad to watch it happen.
You did so much justice to Stray Kids and K-pop in general! Thank you for the research and time you spent to create this video ~
only been a stay some months now, but seeing how the team work is so different from normal groups, since chan recruited them, they make their own music, has a say in dance, and members outside 3racha also does some music
NO WORDS CAN EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I LOVE STRAYKIDS 😭🤍 JUST KEEP DREAMING AND HARD WORKING AND WE STAYS WILL HELP YOU TO GET WHAT YALL DESERVE!!! 🥺🤗
All I know that SKs are consistently good, but always most excited to see how Felix is used.
This video neeeeeeds to blow up! It's so well made and I love how you explain all of the music related stuff.
Thank you! As a songwriter myself I think sometimes it gives me a great chance to explain some of that so people can see WHY things like Bang Chan learning about MIDI and music production is a really cool thing. TY for watching!!
Stray kids before were called "JYP flops" and look at them now
We pay no attention to people who call them flops 😌
What a great video essay! So proud of SKZ.
Really liked how you ended the video with "Stray kids all around the world, you make Stray Kids stay" huhu ❤
It felt appropriate :) Thank you!
Tq for this Video..
And I real Like your Ending Statemen..
Which include STRAY KIDS sign ..
"STRAY KIDS EVERY WHERE ALL AROUND THE WORLD ,, MAKE STRAY KIDS STAY"
I'm glad someone caught that. :)
i really got goosebumps at the end skz really proved themselves out ther. skz everywhere all around the world you make skz stay!
Was never interested in American boy bands, rap, hip-hop, much less K-pop...guys or girls. And then Stray Kids hit my homepage feed via the YT algorithm.
Me meets Stray Kids rabbit hole. 😄
Great snapshot intro to Stray Kids and the growth of the K-pop industry!
AMAZING!!!
this video is so well written watching these hardworking boys finally get the recognition they deserve is so heartwarming.
