Back in colonial times, the Muslims were a separate administrative category, whereas Sikhs along with very many other religions were lumped in with Hindus.
Therefore any successor state for which a Khalistani might agitate would implicitly be expected to be carved out of Republic of India, as Pakistan and Bangladesh all ready represent the successor states created for former British subjects administered separately due to their Muslim faith in the Colony of India.

The reason is India does not have dual citizenship.if I accept citizens of another country ,it means i automaticaly surrender my original citizenship.
I cried the day, and I adopted another country's citizenship.
At the same time it does not mean that we are going to break our relation with motherland.
The people who do wrong things they will continue to do the same thing even if they live in their own country or live in another country.
An honest and decent person will be sincere to adopted country as well as his / her own motherland.
India should start DUEL CITIZEN SHIP .
THIS WAY A CRIMINAL CAN BE APPREHENDED BY HIS NATIVE COUNTRY IF HE OR SHE IS DOING ILLEGAL OR HARMFUL THINGS TO HIS MOTHERLAND
