I enjoy your bloopers at the end almost as much as your videos!! 😅😅😅
Beautiful and what a funny ending......I love your great sense of humour 😊😅😂. So happy to see you paint birds.....my favourites 🥰💞☀️
Another immaculate pork of art. He's a handsome little chap. I love sparrows, they're plentiful around me in the UK. They have strong characters, and are great to watch. Thank you Louise. I really enjoy seeing paint come to life in your paintings.
An immaculate pork of art? :))
@@bluewren65 Hahahaha.... I did didn't I. hehehe. The best bit of being human, to laugh at yourself, and not get to serious over what isn't that important. Shhhh. It's a secret. LOL
😝 Thank you Graham! I'm glad you liked my little pork of art. 😂
@@LouiseDeMasi Hahahaha....
Aw-me, you are easy to fall in love with. This is my first video of yours that I have watched, I liked the little tips you gave which made my decision to come back easy. BUT then I watched your bloopers at the end and I laughed so hard. lol I like your sense of humour and willingness to share your "mistakes". I will definitely come back.
The stairs look AMAZING! And the bloopers made me CRY with laughter today. Thank you! I needed that. 😁
So glad! Thanks Terri.
Love to watch you paint.. and the end.. to have a good laugh.. you are so adorable..
Beautiful Louise! Thank you! Bloopers are so funny! 😂😂
I am in the middle of searching a sparrow photo to paint and I stumble on your sparrow video…I did find one that I like and will paint it. I’ve been wanting to paint a sparrow for quite a while. Can’t wait to paint your version
Wonderful! Thanks Kathy. Have fun!
You make me laugh, lady! Those outtakes are MAGIC 😄 I suppose you're painting talents are pretty good too 😉 sending love from north east Vic ❤
Just beautiful!
The way you explain it is really helpful
I'm doing a pigeon this week :)
Louise, I love your teaching style and your humour. Your stairway looks amazing! Keep doing what you do best 👊
I dip my brush in Murphy’s Oil Soap, wipe it a bit with paper towel, then dip in my masking fluid. Brush always cleans beautifully. Thank you for such informative videos, I watch them all.
Thx for the tip
Great tip! Thank you Donna.
Hi Louise! I just watched the recording of the livestream video of the little wren. That was so very nice! I am 72 and have only been painting for two years and before that I always said that I couldn’t draw a stick figure, (and BTW I have essential tremor). So many of us think that if you can’t draw, then you can’t paint so I found it interesting to hear you contradict that! I have had some good success (for a two year painter) in spite of my tremor, in fact, painting has improved my writing and I can control the paintbrush much easier than a pencil. It was good for me to hear you say that every painting feels like a struggle because that is how I have been feeling in spite of my successes. Do you just plow ahead anyway? I loved the livestream video! So much great info. Is that what your Patreon videos are like?? Thank you!💕
Thanks Donna. Yes I keep going even without success. I often paint the same painting a few times before I'm happy with it and a lot of paintings end up in the scrap pile. Patreon tutorials have the instructions voiced over after I have finished folming the painting. When I edit the videos I voice them over. I don't try and talk while I'm painting because it's too difficult. I prefer to gather my thoughts and make the verbal instruction succinct without 'ums' and 'ahs' and 'waffle'.
That was truly beautiful! I used to be able to do the same but my ms has taken my gift away. My hands shake and I forget so much so I enjoy watching you do it!
I love all your paintings, but seem to be especially drawn to your birds. Such a common bird and yet you made it outstanding. Well done!
Thank you very much Mary. I think the photo that Lukasz took really helped make the little sparrow look special.
I loved the first one...and then I saw the second one.😍 It does look more free and relaxed. You may have never known if you hadn't decided to attempt it again. So pretty.
Love what you do for all of us!! So well explained and clear and precise instructions for our timing learning… it is invaluable :-) also… love the outro’s and always look forward to them Louise… you stay well!
Just lovely! 🥰
a wonderful painting of a bird 🥰
Thanks for another great tutorial Louise. I'm going to give this one a try. Love your outtakes too.LOL!!!
What joy I have just discovered you tonight Louise. Your gentle voice is so easy to listen to. I love how you explain things. I do wish your tutorials were longer but I guess thats what Patreons all about. Not an option I can afford right now, but I have so many of your 'shorts' to check out first. And you're an Aussie excellent!!! You need to put a msg on there somewhere to tell folk about your bloopers they really show a different fun side of you. It wasnt until I commented that I hadnt seen any bloopers which someone (Maria) had mentioned, that I realised I had cut off the end..too busy writing a comment..naturally I went back to check them out. Fantastic channel fantastic no nonsense content. Regards from WA 🦘🦘🦘😊 I am now subscribed!!
Love the softness of the color
Thank you Louise I can’t wait to be able to do this on Patreon. Your bloopers are fun to watch. Make sure Your other half is safe on those stairs. We need you both intack.
White feather that were masked. Without the darker paint you added, the pencil lines outlined the white feathers. After the darker paint was added the lines disappeared. I think that helped a lot and the darker paint made it stand out without being outlined. Very nice painting and video!
Thanks very much Dale.
Love your work Louise! Your crisp clear tidy style is my favourite !
Stunning work
Louise, I know you help us all with painting. Today you helped me get through some very difficult moments, where each second felt too long. And your clips at the end are o so very special! God bless you.
I am familiar with that sort of day. I hope you feel better soon.
You are so welcome and I hope you are feeling better soon Shirley. 😘
Que belleza!!❤
Beautiful!!♡
This little sparrow is breathtaking, especially the fluffy chest area. The stairs are breathtaking, too. I hope Dom doesn’t have to get on any tall ladders to paint or stain the stairs.
Besides the owl, this has to be my most favorite bird you've done recently. A perfect blend of detail and lose style. Look forward to seeing this on Patreon. More appreciation than I can articulate!!
The attention to detail blows my mind,I loved it thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you.
I don’t use masking fluid a lot either, but sometimes it’s very helpful. I like that you explain everything , when you tilt your paper, how you tend to keep your burnt sienna and ultra blue drier to mix your black . I also get some nice dark colors with those two pigments, and thank you for that tip . Love this little wren . Thank you Louise.
🌴Tallahassee, Florida 🌴
Thanks so much Barbra. 😘
I LOVE the background of the first one! I love them both but I really love the texture and tone of it.
I love your work
I love your painting style, it is such a beautiful combination of detail and fluidity with letting the paint do its own thing. Absolutely gorgeous!!
Thank you so much Lisa. 😀
I think I will try using Mod Podge instead of masking fluid…it dries clear and doesn’t ruin brushes as it is water soluble so I’ll let you know if it works. I have another idea for stretching paper with my experience as a cook…it would be nice if all the ideas work… Gentle is the only way I know how to work..always love your bloopers at the end 😆🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽☕️
My favorite artist EVER! The classes are reasonable= actually there is so much more than expected! I love your beautiful voice my sister.👍🏼👍🏼💖💖💋💋
I love all your videos but this one I have loved the most thus far. It seemed to strike a perfect balance. It covers a lot of different techniques without getting to bogged down by them. Lovely
The house sparrow is lovely and balanced as well.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much Lauren.
Beautiful 👍
I look forward to the Patreon class. ♥️👌🏼
Thanks Karen.
Thank you Louisa for all of your wonderful tutorials. I'm a patreon member and I have learned so very much. I just love everything about your teaching style. You're so relatable, and continue to give me many hours of peaceful painting.🙂
Your methodical approach and a keen eye for details, make the painting process worth watching and the painting, outstanding👏👏👏
You're great at explaining. Love your videos! Thanks!
Such a beautiful painting ! Absolutely fresh and clean look... I simply adore your painting style, it has always inspired me . 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Stunning! "whack it on and leave it be!" I love it!!
I have some old acrylic brushes for masking fluid. I dip the bristles in liquid soap for easy cleaning.
Great tip! Thank you Renee. 😘
Your paintings are always so beautiful and fresh. Lovely bird.♡
Thank you Patti.
Nice painting
Love this little bird! we have lots of sparrows here of course. Look forward to the full length video; I can follow a tutorial now as long as I do it in small 'bites'. I love watching you paint, I go into a kind of fascinated trance! Thanks Louise, hope you are well ;-)
me gustó el tutorial y cuando ví los bloopers dije: ahora si me suscribo!
Lovely - nice soft gentle feel. You truly are a great instructor, and I am very appreciative of your videos. Thank-you!
Louise, I read that gum arabic is another way of 'masking' areas of a painting rather than the conventional masking fluid; apparently it leaves a softer edge when removed. I've also found that Schmincke super-granulating paints make an excellent trouble-free background.
Hi, which Schminke granulating colors do you recommend? Very interested in that. 🙂
That's two very interesting tips. Thank you for letting me know Valerie.
Thank you Louise for this great video and for providing the link to order brushes, you’re such an awesome person and teacher 🤗🎨
Louise....I've told you before but Ill say it again...love your work I mostly do portraiture but watching you inspires me to paint animals. I dont like using making fluid either but when I do I coat my fine delicate brush in dish soap before hand the masking fluid comes right off and leaves the brush in totally clean and in great shape/no damage
Your work is truly amazing! You’re an inspiration to me!
Louise, this bird painting is incredibly beautiful ❤ I especially love the cool colours and contrasts. So you can see too many Details destroy the ease. I have a question: For heath reasons masking fluid is not an option for me and I can only work indoors. What could I do to save this areas?
So beautiful!!
Love this painting and your presentation. Your color mixing is especially helpful, as well as the way you do the blending of background and subject. Wishing you much success!
Stunning again, and as always, inspiring. Thank you
This video really showed how important it is to have good quality paper. I don't think these techniques work on cheap paper, do they?
I guess you show how you achieved the wing feathers on Patreon? They are perfect!
Thanks D. Good paper is a must! The entire painting process from start to finish will be on Patreon.
Your bird drawings are outstanding. Love your work. :)
Thanks very much. 💕
Love your tutorials, I have used many of your tips. Thank you.
😊@ susannah Ringwood lovely bird, the birds feet were in nice detail.
Beautiful as always! And thank you for the correction xoxoxox
My pleasure. Thanks Monique.
Lovely painting Louise Thank you for sharing
My pleasure. Thank you Amanda. 😊
Maravilloso como siempre maestra ❤️😍❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Amezing work.👍
I love this I've tried watercolor I like the way you're doing it
Thanks ❤❤
Love love love the background. I like the background In the first attempt even more as I like how dark and mysterious it was with lots of movement, even though the soft ethereal one takes it in another direction. The lost edges on the right side of the bird are spectacular! I was watching this super late at night and falling asleep so nicely and then BAM! Out comes the little masking fluid pickup thing I sent you and I go all gooey. Awe... I am soooooo happy you like it and use it. I often use these tiny rubber tipped tools to apply masking and I agree with you about feeling that it often looks stiff and well a bit fake so I also do what you do and paint backwards into the white areas. So,stokes it is better to save that paper and paint backwards. I will look forwards to this tutorial. Thank you for all you do. I love your house. The light is so amazing!! Any photos of the studio progress?
Thank you Alison! I think of you whenever I use it 💕. The studio is still sitting in a pile on the ground beside the concrete slab so no progress photos I'm sorry. I'm getting really annoyed with the builders who are supposed to be putting it up. They keep putting our date back. The latest start date they told us is the 15th October. I'm not holding my breath though. 😘
@@LouiseDeMasi oooo I hate that. SO annoying, but keep the faith in it . You deserve a studio. Don’t pay them any more money. Try to be mean and tell them you will go elsewhere. ...?? Not that I am any good at that 🤣🤣🤣 but I think we all have been down that builder not showing up road. Or them being too busy because they have promised five different jobs and have only the manpower for one at a time. They start them all then disapppear.... growl.
GRACIAS
Louise I just love your videos! And the result is always amazing ! Question! Do you trace the drawings?
beautiful very talented
Hi Louise, just recently discovered your channel and subbed. Been binge watching your videos. Fantastic! Was at my local zoo today and saw a Cassowary up close, amazing colours and textures one the head/neck. Would make a great detail painting!?
have you tried applying masking fluid with a Quill? the old type of Calligraphy pen. black handle and a metal nib. its much easier to clean and makes a fine line of the masking fluid.
Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Eli!
love your art, amazing! which art paper did you use for the water color please?
I won’t be able to watch that “choochorial” you mentioned but I always enjoy your vids Louise 🪄💜
Lol....😝 maybe a class then? Thank you! 💕
@@LouiseDeMasi would love to Louise, but I simply can’t afford any more outgoings. Your vids here make great enough classes for the likes of me, and I’m very grateful for them. Your humour adds to the enjoyment 🙏✨❤️
Thank you.
Have you ever tried using a ruling pen and a dip pen with masking fluid? I'm a beginner with it, but I quite like it so far. A dip pen can get you incredibly fine lines! ☺️ There's also a great comparison video here on TH-cam on masking fluid, it really helped me. I use the QoR one currently, but would also like to try the Schminke "stick" version.
Thanks for the tip Hannah. I have seen other artists use a dip pen with masking fluid but I haven't tried it myself yet. 💕
👍👍👍
What if you would scratch feathers with a knife rather than using masking fluid?
Are you Australian loviza.I love your sprow.
what is “pigtail” that you used to remove paint near the foot?
I used some paper towel to remove some of the violet paint near the foot and I also used my Maestro brushes to take some paint off. I'm not sure if that's where you mean.
@@LouiseDeMasi HAHAHA I replayed it and you did say paper towel. My first time through must have skipped and it sounded like pigtail! Time to get the hearing aids out.
💕❤️💗
3:40 We Canadians will only forgive you if you paint us a deer or a moose 😂😍🥰 Just a little joke but I must admit that I would be so happy if you did 😊
Madam, Please upload full tutorial for portrait painting of human face.
Well Louise....if anyone shoots you for not being a geography major I'll meet ye at tha golden gates. Last Tuesday I was diagnosed with cancer.
