- Our baby daughter came into this world about a week ago. During our last two visits to the hospital in Payyanur, we also took Vinod's dad to the dentist and his mom for an eye checkup. And as always, we found another awesome place for Kerala meals in the town. I was quite happy with the hospital care I'm getting in Kerala. In the beginning I was a bit nervous about being pregnant in a foreign country, but not anymore. Also, during the last scans we got a bit of a shocker when we found out that the baby has her umbilical cord wound around her neck. It was devastating for me but, as they say, alls well that ends well.

Thank you so much Jenna! 🙏😊 yes it was rather frightening, I mean it sounds so dangerous right?! But both my doctor and online doula in Finland assured me it’s very common and rarely leads to any complications. Well, it did lead in my case, but that’s a story for the delivery vlog! 😬

Don't worry , there are thousands who love you and our prayers are there for you and your family. Take Doctor's advise seriously and you'll be fine. Love and best wishes to Mommy and Daddy. If possible do some breathing exercises, called pranayama 🧘♂️

Hi Johanna soon you will have a new family member an overwhelming moment for both of you and for the grandparents it will be a new chapter in your life and being a loving mother is challenging but with pure joy and prosperity. I know because I have three grown sons and a granddaughter she turns 15 this year so I am an old man of 66 years. It’s so nice for me to see your videos Johanna. I’m going through a n extreme taff time with my 9years old son. We are totally alone in the US and my husband is abusive and abandoning us. Is the darkest time of mine and unfortunately my son’s life. I’m from Europe too and… hope being able to return back there with my son. Back to my family. I miss them so much!
I’m so glad that not all man are like the father of my son. You have a wonderful family. You seem to be loved and cared a lot and you seem too a loving and tender person. You must make a wonderful friend too in addition of being a loving mother and wife.

I am so surprised that you were let go to home with the cord around the baby.. I went to hospital in California .. and they found the same situation and did not allow me to go home .. I was monitored for few days and had my csection after .. May be because mine was a high risk pregnancy .. but now you have a health beautiful baby .. all good ♥️😍
It must be because of a high risk pregnancy. Mine was normal otherwise 😊 both my doctor and online doula in Finland assured me that a cord around the neck is very common and nothing to worry about, as it rarely leads to complications or even a C-section

Aww poor Annika 😢 but I’m so glad now she is okay thank goodness! ❤️👶🏽 I was actually born with the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck too same as Annika but not through c-section and I was quite poorly ☹️. Such a lovely vlog. ❤️ I’m not actually sure what Mundu is called in Tamil but my husband says to me “Sarong”, and he, my brother in law and father in law also wear 😋 Did daddy like wearing? ☺️ I hope you are all doing okay and you are all well! ❤️💖
Yes, all my doctor, online midwife and extensive research said that being born with the cord around the neck is common and mostly safe like yours! It’s rare that it would lead to any serious complications, but I guess with my luck... 😁 anyways what matters is that you and Annika both got through it safely! 🙏❤️ yes Daddy and vinod both actually love wearing the mundu/lungi! 😊

I recently saw a program on how nice the new mom and baby in Finland are taken care of .That made me realise how much johanna has sacrificed and how much she loves Vinod and family.wish both her and Annika all the best.Waiting eagerly to see her finnish mother in Kerala playing grandmother's role

I wasn’t specifically filming a vlog the day of her birth, as we weren’t expecting anything to happen then. But there are some clips I’m planning to stitch into a vlog 😊

Yes, the umbilical cord around the baby's neck is quite common as I have heard it from almost all the pregnant relatives and friends.. they do some rotating maneuvers and untangle the baby before the labor..
