I've been listening to this band a couple of decades, they are so good, enjoy exploring their rabbit hole 😂

A dead Poem is probably my favourite album by them. But they've done so many good albums in their 30 year career.

Happy you finally did these guys. They’re absolute legends. Got to see them at the Baltimore Soundstage 2 years ago, and it was epic as fuck🔥👌 Listening to them makes me feel like I’m back in Ancient Greece🙂🤘

Agreed, they're an amazing band! If you want more of them you can check out their classic "Pir Threontai" (there's a remixed official lyric video). Also, frontman Sakis Tolis now has a solo career as well and has produced some excellent music, such as the song "The Origin."

Rotting Christ is EPIC. So much Power and dark atmosphere, its crushing. Melechesh is another band this atmospheric and intense. I Love their collab song "The Voice of the universe"

Great reaction, as always. I really like this band. They used a lot of languages in their music and that always is interesting for me. They are great in mixing harsh vocal and epic music.
My favourite song is Devadevam (I can't say more because I'll ruin surprise).

Very interessant discovery. As an atheist, I'm not embarrassed by the religious issues, and I can hear everything on every subject (as long as moral issues are safe, of course), but I find very interessant too that you explain your earlier possible discomfort with some themes or terms. Intellectual comfort is important for an healthy mental, and intellectual discomfort is an help to be more aware of what the world is made of, and how people get along around us. The balance between both is not always obvious, and depends on our own evolutions

Yea, its funny how religion had that kinda grip on me. Its wild.

As someone said above, Sakis Tolis, the leader of the band has a very intersting solo career... Feel free to check Sakis Tolis - "Ad Astra", the visuals and song are for me a masterpiece.

Awesome man! I think I said this before but being a former Baptist I was drawn to bands with sacrilegious names. With a name like Rotting Christ, and the band being from Greece I thought "These are some bold f****ers". Not sure when I started listening to them, but they were my sound track to many an online game! Really sets the mood for playing a Sith Inquisitor (SWToR). Also I think this band was one of the first Black Metal bands in Greece. Like a lot of BM bands, their sound has evolved over the years but it hasn't lost it's edge! 🤘🤘

I'd been seeing the band suggested in the comments quite often but held back checking them out since they're were being mentioned with Septicflesh... so I knew you'd get to these guys eventually.
Looks like we were sleeping.. how I've not heard them beforehand kinda sucks, many years wasted but another "new" discovery on the channel makes me happy to have found them here.
    Bring on some more! 🤘

Rotting Christ is one of my favorite bands. They're from Athens, Greece. They are definitely anti-religion, so don't let that freak you out.

  • @andrewichigo
    @andrewichigo 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I still recommend Elthe Kyrie (which means something like "come forth oh lord" in Greek) and Kata Ton Daimona Eaytoy (meaning something like "Against the Demon within me" which Alistair Crowley translated to "Do what thou wilt")

Rotting Christ as a whole has great messages about the human world. Their name itself, doesn't mock Jesus, but because of how the world turned out to be, we use the name of God and his son Christ, for very vile things, and it's a Rotting Religion.

Cool video. Pretty boring song. I've heard good songs from this band. This wasn't it tho
Check out the tracks "Ze Nigmar" and "The Raven" from Rotting Christ. Little more depth to the music in these ones
