🧳 Hot take maybe, but I LOVE Disney in winter. I love being able to wear my Disney sweatshirts without sweating lol. 🤷🏻♀️ Our annual trip is usually January but going early February this year.
My kids *love* gloves so much, we bought them a variety pack for Christmas literally just for costumes because they’re boys, so they want to be superheroes all the time. My 2.5 and 4.5yos are pros at getting gloves on 😂 might be worth getting them a pair to practice with before you go! ETA: We are FL annual passholders and I highly recommend getting them wool base layers in a size up and rolling the sleeves and pants. You’ll get 2+ years out of them and it helps them thermoregulate much better than bulky layers. And wool is dirt and smell resistant so one set will probably be fine for the whole trip. We put them in a wool base layer for kids which feels like athletic clothes more than it feels like a sweater, then their Disney shirt on top (or a princess dress for girls), and a fleece jacket for the morning. By noon they won’t need it anymore. We also pack stroller blankets and Sherpa lined hoodies too just in case. But a wool base and fleece jacket is really all they have needed in Florida, a puffer isn’t necessary for our Florida kiddos and they hate the bulk because they’re used to bare feet and no shirt most of the year.
@@thepixiedustedmomHave so much fun! For the future though it will let you pack much lighter and just not be as worried about them possibly being cold, my kids go to forest school too and the wool base layers were a total game changer for the winter. The humidity and wind especially at WDW cuts right through cotton/poly no matter how many layers you wear, I think that’s why Florida cold hits so different? But man you have everything so accounted for!
@@jessicachurch319 Good to know on the wool layers! I'll have to look into those for at home too. We have humidity here in TN too just not as much a FL.
@@thepixiedustedmom Helly Hansen makes really good quality outdoor wear. The kids rain gear is from there and they have played outside during a hurricane without getting their clothes underneath wet at all. Their base layers feel a little bit like athletic clothes too, just not as stretchy and not scratchy at all. But it’s pricey. We sized both kids up and by the time the 2yo outgrows his he will be able to fit the 4yo’s set.
i agree about the rain gear. I used to buy the ponchos every trip and i got tired of wasting money and now have a really nice rain jacket that folds up into a bag for easy packing/storage.
You recommended the disposable diaper pails in a different video too and they are game changing! I’ve used them several times for hotel stays this winter for our baby and toddler and they work great! Thanks for the recommendation!
It was easy to pack to go visit family in our homeland in the summer, but in winter with all these cosy bulky clothes... I can do a small trick - if you don't mind too many wrinkles or you have an iron - you can pack them in the vacuum bags and suck out the air :D Repeat then you pack back (if you have a vacuum but with family we had :P)
Girl swear we have been to disney 4 times in January! And while we miss out on the water park aspect we love it! Layers are your BFF!! U will enjoy it! Lower(ish) crowds and its less draining not having to fight that extreme heat Florida is known for! Layer up, grab a warm drink and yall enjoy!!
Love it! I know it is slightly different with boys, but if it does get really warm, I just put my son in gym shorts and a t-shirt to play in the pool and splash pad. 😊 have fun!!!
Cold weather gear is a must in the colder months. We went to Disney in January a couple years ago and we’re miserableeeee with how cold we were in our Florida attire
Dont be nervous! You got this! I took my twin boys plus 1 daughter to Disney solo their whole lives. We have the best memories! (you forget the hard stuff- except when my son lost it at dinner at Coral Reef and we stopped doing sit down meals for a decade lol)
@@wilddawgfarm Thank you for the kind words! That makes me feel a lot better. Our youngest lost it at all the sit down restaurants on our last visit, so I didn’t book any table service this trip. Lol. Hopefully we’re good! 🙏🏻
50 degrees sounds amazing right now! Watching as we are in a blizzard warning starting in an hour. . Looking forward to my Disney Wish Cruise and 4 days in parks …in February!
🧳We have those tiny Mickey carabiners! They were great for a while (we keep 3 water bottles on each, as we are a family of 6, with a side by side double stroller), BUT the actual swingarm is kinda wimpy. We make sure all the weight is inside the ear section where it’s strong, but we’ve had to reattach the wire part so many times in this first year 😢 I really thought using a big brand would provide better quality. Hope u have more mileage with yours!🤞🏻

Great packing vid! Not keeping the swimmies packed made me sad😆… we’re going over Mardi Gras mid Feb and hoping for warmish weather bc it’s our first time staying at the Poly and my girls are dying to swim 🥶… we’re in Louisiana so we need some 80 degree temps to swim 😅 We usually go Jan/Feb every year and it’s def a mixed bag of temps!!
We’re leaving this weekend, my boys are 10 & 4 and my girl is 7! I try to coordinate them still but the chilly temps are making it harder than our July trip for packing! So many layers lol!

If the girls are cold on “Encanto outfit day”, use their long sleeve shirts from travel day and put them underneath the dresses so they still get the Encanto look.
Hey Ashley! Always so helpful! Do you prefer the SlumberTot bed or the one from amazon you've used in previous videos? Our 2.5 year old is just about too big for the pack and plays, so we need something for our him soon!
Hey! They are both great options honestly. The Slumbertot fits PERFECTLY inside of the Slumberpod since that's the way they made it. The one from Amazon fits but you do have to stretch the fabric just slightly to get it inside. If your little guy is on the taller side I would go with the Amazon one because it will last longer.
