I know Empoleon's pretty much his canon choice, but I still imagine him with a Torterra all these years later. There's something funny about how they're pretty much polar opposites. Great job as always anyway Zame!
@@avatarwarmech Yeah, personality-wise Infernape's a perfect match, and both the anime, Masters and possibly the manga (? Idk, never read it) show him with an Empoleon. I just imagine him with a Torterra since I started with Piplup in Pearl and I find the contrast funny.
@@avatarwarmech no chimchar is the perfect match the whole point of infernape is he becomes more reserved and quiet as he evolves cause he controls his power better which is similar to Lucas slowly honing in on his battle skills at first. What this means is while chimchar is easily the best choice for the 1st forms as it evolves it would grow distant with Barry whereas empoleon as it evolves will grow closer
I know what the “(Clean Version)” is referring to, but all I can think about is an “explicit version” of this song with a different curse word every 2 seconds

I still find it interesting that in reality in diamond and pearl barry was a legitimately tough boss rival... Then they dummy down and destroy his movepoool. Just... Why, this is gen 4 were talking about, it's okay to have a tough rival with a fun character (he's probably the closest we ever got to that)
You notice though he’s a lot worse as a trainer though cause he has an infernape since he doesn’t know how to use it’s abilities to the max. He’s a lot more competent with the mom in the poc
