How much is the Maintenance fee?

Depends on your property - did you have a specific property in mind?

    Aloha!
We are active duty possibly pcsing to Hawaii. We bought a property with the VA already and looking to leave it rented. We are looking to buy in Hawaii because our dog is not allowed on post. Therefore, I am trying to understand (finance-wise) an E5 to pay cover for mortgage. What can you recommend me or how can we get in touch with you because I'm going crazy with so much to do

What are entry rules, must permission be given before my condo can be entered???? I do light woodworking are there certain hours of the day where I can make noise ,even if it were every day for a while as opposed to a repair ??? So could a condo person get hit with a for example a 250 to 300 k assessment due. In 6 months with no ability to do 1000.00 bucks a month or so towards it , and could they foreclose on your condo if u couldn’t pay?????

Hi William thanks for asking it really depends on the individual condo association for the rules. I would check those prior to completing a purchase of a condo.

Thanks for all the tips, very informative . Question: What is the difference between HOA Fees and Maintenance Fees? I noticed some of the condos have listed both - are we responsible for both those fees?

They are generally the same, but it depends on how the community is set up. Some will include them all in one bill, and some will separate a maintenance fee or assessment or some sort of other fee into a separate fee in the MLS listing. Best to ask your realtor to confirm. I’m happy to help if you’d like to speak to me directly to confirm on a specific property.

Thanks for the response, as there is no specific property in mind, as yet.

How much value would you put on a parking space? Diamond Head Terrace area? I've looked at units both with and without parking. Now that Leahi Ave is privately owned, it's impacted available street parking in the area.

Yes it really depends on the situation. $30-50k but could be more.
