- Hello! In this video we explore the island of Dominica some more with our friends who've come to visit. We go for a tour down Indian River, sample the local rum, go diving in the Cabrits national park and visit some more waterfalls! Then we drive to the most beautiful beach we might have ever seen: Batibou! Add these places to your list if you ever visit this island.

Hello! We're Alex and Lars. We've been living aboard our 37 foot sailboat, Navika for 2.5 years and are sailing full time. We started our journey in the South of France, and sailed around the Mediterranean for 2 years before sailing across the Atlantic at the beginning of 2022. I'm a Dominican from the Village of Calibishie.. (BEAUTIFUL) We need a lot more exposure than what we are experiencing right now. There are a lot of people that wants to visit and it is so difficult going thru the journey. Anyway I'm happy you guys had a great time.

Used to take tourist up the Indian River, as a kid! Charged $5 or $5BWI! Left Dominica in 1968 aged 10, now 67! First went back up the River in 2000 and it cost a lot more than either $5, but was fun! A lot had changed: no longer did tugs and lighters, berth up the River! But it mattered not- people were still going up the Indian River !
i saw the thumnail srolling through recommendations and instantly could tell where you were.Thank you for letting everybody know the difference betweenDominica and Dominica Republic. A lot of people mistake it for the republic or straight up dont believe Dominica is a seperate place by itself.

We ended up driving all the way down to Batibou in our little rental car and parked pretty much on the beach. It was empty and about an hour before sunset. A guy turned up who told us it was a private beach and $25 per person. We negotiated him down to $5 for both of us until sunset 😂

Nice video. When you were in Batebu Bay what did you order for food, and how much did it cost? Did you know the price before you ordered? I was at Batibou Beach in February 2022; didn't order any food however. It is paradise. I'm going back to Dominica next week for 2 weeks, so I'm curious about the details. Good tip to know before I order any food. Thanks.

Nice video! Food is fairly cheap there, it's just that some remote places will charge a premium price. Around the city and more populated areas, 15USD can get you a robust meal!

If u think it’s expensive to be here imagine living here where minimum wage is 4 dollars Eastern Caribbean dollars before tax…..the island and all the beauty n things to do keep us sane…..it’s really hard living where you vacation….sincerely a Dominican…..but thanks for coming….visit more often and I’m a listened tour guide so feel free to hit me up on your next visit🤙
