my church just got a new 32 channel one and they gave me the old one( mine seems to say 2012 on the mfr date sticker, same mixer though)... one of these 24.4.2's. I m like you, Im analog, my home studio has a 14 space rack full of stuff, but I also am learning to love this mixer. they even still had the printed manual . thanks for the run down ... Peace
Hi Andy, as with anything digital, thing become "outdated", but this mixer is still 100% relavant in my eyes. I am still using this mixer almost daily now, and I even have a really cool setup using the Presonus' d-sub 25 direct outputs in my studio with an old Fostex 1624 hard disk recorder and I am using it to make music for my TH-cam channel now. The more I get used to this piece of equipment, the more great things I have to say about it. The sound quality is very good and I like the fact that it has a real analogue feel to its layout. The build quality is very good too, everything seems sturdy and solid. I paid 800 CAD for this thing and it has really gotten some very good use so far. I would say that you should definitely go for it. Other people are going to scoff at this now because everyone has moved onto the midas 32R and Behringer X32 yada yada. I have used those consoles as well and I don't like them nearly as much as the Presonus. Anyways, good luck with your decision making, I highly recommend this piece of gear.
I have not really gotten into using the GEQ yet, I havent found too many sitatuation yet where I have had to use it, mixer has sounded pretty darn good so far. But of course, I am sure I will get into that someday
@@trkkazulu Right, that makes sense for sure. I've been lucky, so far my monitor mixes have been really good right out of the gate. I'll be using the mixer tonight at band practice so I'll see if I can experiment with the GEQ on a monitor buss.
My church has the same mixer. I wondering how do you equalizer the kick drum. We put a mic the kick drum but it makes a weird popping noise. Does that have anytime do with the speakers?
Sounds like it's clipping. Too much for speaker to handle. Try compressing or dropping gain. Also they have presets you can load to the channel for instruments and vocals
You also have 8 31band graphic eq`s you also can run a wireless network via a MacBook as I do there are TH-cam videos you can watch to do this Being an analog guy myself I found it really easy to use.
What osx are you running? How do you connect it to the computer? What version of universal control you have? I have downloaded the 1.7.6 version but the board just wont show up in UC. I really need to make it work and i am helpless, there is no info online :D
Interesting, thank for adding that bit of infromation, very helpful ! If I get a chance to scoop up an AI version I am definately going to do it, I have been using this mixer non stop since I purchased it, and I have since done many decent sized shows with it and it has performed flawlessly. It paid for itself in the first two shows.
Yes, but you need to have it hooked up to a MacBook and also be connected to a wireless network I believe. I haven't tried that yet with this board, but I'm going to try and explore that feature very soon.
I have one exactly the same, very clean sounding desk and very easy to use

I just went through this, had to buy a 2014 MacBook to make it work. Thanks for posting the video
Thanks for the demonstration, that video helped me loads to get a good look at the mixer and make a decision for myself in 2022 ;)

as a side note.. I would prefer not to have 24 motors that can and will break for the faders. the "locate" function is fine enough
If you haven’t discovered it yet, the graphics EQ is available on all busses and auxiliaries.

@@UOttawaScotty the GEQ really comes into play when you use the SMAART wizards for tuning your monitors.

@@UOttawaScotty that sounds like it’s going to be lots of fun. Keep us posted!

I will wait with you on this one....... Apparently anything above El Captain cannot detect the board😐😐

Hie this board will not work with any M1,M2and M3 MacBooks
The AI version also has four effects processors rather than two.
