Its very nice but you added one zero too much in the title this arcs is 40kv and not 400kv if it was it would ignite at half a meter or so

yo, do the math. at 400kV it would around 14cm, not half a meter xD you would need more than 1 MV to spark it across 1/2m
People just really seem to love blown up numbers, huh? First we were talking about 400kV, now that spans half a meter... xDD. Btw, that arc looks more like 90kV, assuming 3kV/mm of breakdown voltage at atmospheric pressure. That's why it scares the shit out of me that he really holds *both* wires when arcing. That arc will drive quite the current, look at it's intensity...

Flyback transformers usually range from around 10-20kV not 400kV. If it was 400kV I think that transformer would be burning up by now.
Up to 27.5 kV for colour tvs.
I agree with you. In the video you can see that the two ends of wires are very close to start the arc, then once it is on, distance can be improved. You obtain a “plasma” discharge in this case.

..try charging a polarized / non polarized capacitor with that mini arc ..check if it is possible to harvest power from lightning?

You make other do dangerous things from you because your poor knowledge about safety. If you are unlucky you already die before. 10Kv=1cm long of the arc so it cant be at 400kv because your arc at 20.3cm

But handle the positive side with care because you were holding both the positive wire and negative wire with both the hands and if the insulation is broken, it can shock the sh.t out of you and it has the ability to stop the human heart. This is at most 60kV, the initial spark distance tells you the voltage, depending on the power availible you can stretch the arcs further, for the initial arc its 10-15kV per centimeter
Looks reasonably easy to duplicate however there is no info about transformer voltage and current or the capacitor bank that is shown. I saw you said to another that parts list in description but not transistors are there. List of all components please!!

Thats an insane arc for a flyback, congratulations! But you are putting yourself at huge risk holding each wire with each hand, insulation can easily fail and the electricity will make it's way through your heart. use one hand only for such voltages unless you have two long sticks

Please never use both hands while holding live cables. I know the frequency is ramped up high but you should get into the habit of safety. Then if viewers decide to try they will know how to stay safe whilst doing so. Insulated gloves and non conductive rods to make sure its away from you so body doesn't form part of the circuit. why did you say its 400kv? i didn't see any kind of multiplier circuit, and I dont know of any conventional flybacks that make 400kv

I made this circuit.. and its excellent but it has a strange behavior... when i used a ac flyback and turned it on the first arc was small .. after the first arc the second arcs was big and so on ... can you please tell me the cause of this.. whenever i do this i always get first arc small after that i get big arcs😮😮

PLS stay away from such stunts!! Once the wire burns through the skin the body resistance will drop drastically. @@codyramos3200 Well we deal in high power DC motors. The flyback energy for a 10kA (short time) current is precisely 10000Amps. The voltage will increase ~6 times BUT the voltage rises (in an inductor) to maintain the current through it. SO the flyback circuit is rated for the full load Amps. 😐
