Thanks for the tour of your 2005 Hijet. I'm jealous. The protectionist laws in the US prevent us from importing a mini truck newer than 25 years old for on-road use. I have a 1996 4WD Hijet. It needs tires and I'm looking to import a set of five Yokohama Super Digger II tires for it, but of course the shipping is expensive. I'm a bit jealous of the cup holders as well, and the fuses and relays under the driver's seat. My little fuse block is under the dash on the driver's side and only an octopus can reach it. I bought a nice and inexpensive after market remote power door lock upgrade on Amazon to avoid wearing out the door lock cylinders. It has four door actuators and I'm going to use the other two to lock and unlock the two large military surplus ammo cans that I'm mounting to the headache rack, just under the rear window.
The us got shafted because after 2003 It got the new EF-VE engine that replaced the EF-GS which gave it double over head cams (DOHC) instead of single over head cams (SOHC) which gave it 58 horsepower which is more than the other kei trucks had on the market instead of the old 44hp. Revs faster better gas mileage its a win win.
Also in Ontario. Who did you import through and what was your landed/delivered cost? Who is insuring it? My insurer gave me pushback when I quoted a RHD vehicle.

I have 2006 hijet with all those options but it 2 wheel drive 😢😢
Just curious... do the trucks with the high Low transfer case have a lower top speed than the trucks without? Thanks
In low range you are slower than normal. They aren’t speed governed though.
