Most of the music of Mario 3: Around The World is stolen from Soundcloud composers, and that other Mario game is called "Mario 4: A Space Odyssey". (I know what you may be thinking)

The barney game reminded me of when I was a kid and my mom had shown me the show and got me barney dolls. Then dad showed me godzilla. I made the barneys fight to the death while destroying lego block town. Thanks for the nostalgia ride Vinny.
The "Corporation" game is pretty cool actually, I had forgotten about it after seeing it in a Genesis compilation like 15 years ago. " Originally released for Amiga in 1990, it is one of the earliest 3D first-person shooter games, predating ID Software's Wolfenstein 3D (1992). It was also the first of its kind to utilize dynamic lighting. Gameplay was very complex for its time, featuring role-playing, stealth and hacking elements, similar to the later System Shock and Deus Ex series of games." That is impressive.
I was also surprised Vinny never had heard about the Brazilian Duke Nukem 3D "port"... The Mario clone is more well-made than many too.
I imagine it was much better on the Amiga...

Zero Tolerance on Genesis is probably my favorite of the FPS games on the console. And Doom 32x if that counts

Neon Luigi You don't want to get past the first stage. The others are far worse.
I loved that game (Also on SNES), but I could never get past the Snorch boss, couldn't figure out how to beat him. Years later, enter the Internet. Apparently you had to throw trash at the tire in the stage to bounce back and hit him, because direct hits did nothing. That level sucked because it was hard enough to get through anyway because you had to race against rising water through a tube maze.

I watched my brothers play Batman Forever except it was on the SNES and it wasn't much better.
Actually I take this back a bit, at least the Genesis version didn't ask you to "Hold On" while it loaded.

Also, this Genesis collection is like corn skin stuck in between teeth, and despite blast processing, no blasts are being had.

Actually, it was, It just wasn't known for it's sampler. the bootlegs didn't use them. you need to play some of the good sega games, with the good soundtracks.
Yeah, honestly when in the right hands the Genesis' chip could make some great music
Sonic 3, Comix Zone, Vectorman, Golden Axe 2, and of course, Castlevania Bloodlines are some good examples, at least in my personal opinion
Streets of Rage 2, Mortal Kombat 1 & 2, Ristar (Dat final boss, and Lock up!), Sonic spinball (Minus the first 30 seconds of the options menu which is pure ear-rape followed by something reasonable), Dr Robotnick's mean bean machine (which, while just a remake of Puyo Puyo, has it's own soundtrack which gets some pretty funky and fast slap bass) Toejam & Earl panic on funkatron, about half the music in B.O.B. / Funky bob. EARTHWORM JIM... Level 5 for pete's sake, USE YOUR HEAD! Echo the dolphin 1 & 2, The opening music to Urban strike, Shit even Vectorman 2 had a decent soundtrack, even if the game kinda sucked. Shit sonic 3d blast was a terrible game but had a pretty sweet soundtrack. Hell the sega genesis version of Disney's aladdin had 'the escape'.
I usually don't like the Genesis sound, but Streets of Rage 1-3 and Gunstar Heroes show what the YM2612 can do in the right hands

A lot of the problem with peoples bad impressions of genesis music, stems from people just using the stock presets provided by sega, instead of actually using the YM2612 to make their own, as the stock presets are notoriously bad. they where basically treating it as a set soundfont, or dumping a midi file in, with no other consideration. Meanwhile the later sonic games, pretty much every game I listed here except the terminator games use pretty much custom sounds for everything. That's what made Streets of rage so good, is they took the time to make it SOUND GOOD. In fact I'd think with streets of rage 80% of the development time must have gone into the sountrack, and I can prove it, Just try playing it in silence. It's not fun in silence, it's just frustration. Even this said, On rare occasion there is a soundtrack that uses some stock sounds, that actually sound damn good because they picked just the right sounds, and... they actually humanized it instead of having FLAT NOTE VOLUME. Stuff like the soundtrack to disney's aladdin, The slightly painful soundtrack to Alien Storm, Toejam & earl panic on funkatron, Super Monaco GP had some good tracks, which is sad because during gameplay it's silence, and the music is only on the menu screens and score screens, and some if it is so smooth or funky, and some was clearly written to be played during a race.... Oh yeah, and rock & roll racing, which got licensed music re-made with the 2612. some good shit.
Cool, thanks for the suggestions. I remember liking some of the compositions on Sega's MKI big time. One other track I like is the "River Boss" from Ranger-X. That game really has some nice showcases of 2612 beats!

You joke about being 7 and renting Batman Forever because you liked that move as a kid. THAT WAS ME. I never did figure out how to get up there. Complete waste of a weekend as a kid. That game was just terrible.
I had it around that age too, maybe the rental was missing it but the actual game had an instruction booklet that listed all the moves. My little sister and I beat the game, didn't really think it was bad, didn't really stand out on the system but was pretty fun, though half the time we did the multiplayer 1v1 where you could freely use gadgets or play as any enemy in the game complete with their powers. (seriously, there's like a zillion moves and gadgets in this game)
Holy shit i rented it too, my brother figured out how to do it. Funny enough, I still really liked the game because the atmosphere and live action animations were so cool to me

HOLY SHIT! I was so supprised when TIME TRAX came on. That ROM hack must be new (CoDG) because of the Genesis Time Trax being only discovered recently... Poor Tim Follin, he put so much work into the music too.
Beast Wrestler's only good point is the monster design, which was made by Yasushi Nirasawa, who designed some of the new Shin Megami Tensei 4's demon redesigns (and is known in Japan for doing Kamen Rider's monster design)
I like how Vinny has a way different reaction to playing the Mario 3 Genesis Bootleg compared to Joel. Vinny is laughing his bum off whereas Joel goes WHAT THE F***!?!

As some said already, Corporation was pretty awesome for its time. It's basically proto-System Shock, very hard to get into without a manual, but has tons of complexity to it, especially for a Genesis game.

I once did the /v/ Gauntlet where you had to beat a random game on each console back to back. I got Corporation (which was called Cyber Cop in my version) as my Genesis game. You actually lose energy just from walking in that game and you have to constantly replenish it by drinking some protein sippy or by pausing the game for five minutes. Vinny died because he was walking not because he was being attacked, seriously.
I did actually beat the game by the way. I even discovered a secret that isn't mentioned in any walkthroughs.
