Paul and Roy McBride, thank you so much. I left Mossley in 1965, worked back in Tameside from 1974 to 1979 and emigrated to the US in 1991. You have captured Mossley and Stalybridge as I last knew them. This is a wonderful video. I loved Whit Friday. I have tried to explain the old spirit of Whit Friday with Bands and best clothes to my American friends. But the recent videos I have seen include some of this but there also are Australian bands with bush hats and people in their ordinary clothes and dogs. The Mossley route seems to use just Stamford Road now so there is no longer the walk down through Roughtown, the really steep bit by Milton School and under the railway onto Manchester Road. Thank you for catching so much that is now gone.

I love the little footage of that Hartshead power station, wonderful site nowadays
Just clocked myself - 4:02, lad in the middle with the drum. Good times!
Looks so much cleaner and greener than it does now; it's not really bad or anything now, just clearly not as well-maintained.
Outstanding views of the hills around us.
Thanks for posting. Stalybridge before Tesco killed it.
Before the chavs killed it

God this makes me so depressed, born and raised in Stalybridge, how far it has fallen.
