I have a critical question. Does the AF have any level 1 trauma centers for their Dr’s to practice at after graduating residency? If so how many? This questions/questions are the only thing keeping me from signing since if I become a trauma surgeon, I don’t want my skills to atrophy by just practicing as a general surgeon at level 2 or 3 hospitals.

i just looked up "level one trauma centers military medicine" and this came up so its looking like brooke army medical center is the only level 1 trauma center in the DoD, although I would suggest doing a little more research especially if its such a big determining factor for you!

You can definitely go to medical school with an econ & math degree, you just need to make sure you take the med school required classes. If you really want to do it, then you should!! Even if it’s the harder path now to change things, go with what you actually want to do & you’ll most likely end up happier
