Andy is one of the best, yes. But he seemed a little cold on this one and I have to say in the year of reverb machines, Walrus' Fathom has hit the mark with me. I am waiting for Oceans 11 to be delivered and then Dr. Scientist is still working on The Atmosphere. Should be a great year for reverb pedals. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would say no. The Sky Fi is really built around the hold functionality, plus it combines echo and reverb. The Space Race is designed to just do the reverb stuff very well, without the delay / echo. You can get them to sound pretty close to each other but as soon as you start adding in the spring, plate, analog modes the Space Race really starts to shine.
I never get sick of pedals like this.
For being a "synth new wave" band, Flock Of Seagulls were absolutely nowhere without the genius guitar work of Paul Reynolds.
