My family is particular when dressing our children and grandchildren. The eton suits and/or shorts and bishop dresses is just common dress up attire for us. It's beautiful and child like clothing for children under the age of 6. They will have the rest of their lives to wear leggings, long pants and blue jeans.
I can look at photos from when my cousin and I were little girls (I was born in 1959, and she was born in 1958), and we wore clothes nearly identical to Charlotte's. My grandmother smocked dresses for us, and she and my mother made our clothes. I never had children, but I still have some of my little dresses, and the workmanship was beautiful, made of fine lawn cloth with embroidery.
