I clicked on this as a lark. Things don't normally hit me as better than I expected. This wildly exceeded my expectations. Garage bands don't usually work together so well. And talent all around.
I've played with Dan (the drummer) in bands on and off since we were 13 years old and Dan has always had impeccable timing. He's the steadiest metronome I've ever known, and an amazing drummer over all. Dan literally can play any song. Proud to have played with Dan all these years and proud to say we're still good friends. And now we only like about 2 -3 miles apart.
THE best cover of this classic I have EVER heard. At 66 I know all the songs you play. And this is absolutely amazing. Keep up the good work fellas. I would love to see and hear you guys perform.
@@ravenland6135 Same here! I'm 65 these and I still have the 45's of all these fantastic songs that I bought during junior high school when they were first released. Mom and Dad would not allow me to "waste" my entire newspaper route money on records, so I mostly had to stay with singles rather than albums. But Badfinger was one of the few groups who, like the Beatles and the 'Stones in the 1960's, had brilliant and compelling songs on both sides of the record instead of the typical B side throw-aways and fillers. It wasn't until 20+ years later, when all their out-of-print and never-released albums were finally released on CD, that I finally had the chance to experience the full wealth of their incredible music.
indeed. Few people know about their manager ripping them off and letting their homes get seized while they were touring, Capitol Records taking their albums off the market and killing a promising career; George Harrison and Todd Rundgren in a pissing match over the production of their best record and of course the twin suicides of Pete Ham and Tom Evans eight years apart.Mike Gibbins died of cancer and Joey Molland is using the Badfinger name for his sorry copy act. Am I missing anything ?
Hats off to the rhythm guitar player for dialing it back when the lead guitar does his little riff between verses. The last thing a guitar player wants to hear is “please don’t play here.”
I don't know what I just saw. Actually I do. Master level in how to cover one of the greatest songs of the 1970s and how to sing near impossible harmonies achieved and unlocked. 10/10. Well done gentlemen.

Scott: The problem is that the Hendrix style Strat is a plinky-clunky dead hulk. The cool look of the guitar is there but the killer tone ISN'T and it's not a matter of quantity of distortion. The lead singer nailed the vocal but his guitar playing was shaky & amateurish plus the couple wrong chord phrasings in the intro. Kudos for the high harmony vocal too! It's ironic that the totality of the vocals outshined the musical performance because usually with cover tune bands, it's the exact opposite: Great music, LOUSY vocals!🤣🤣🤣
@@danielschear556 I have been playing guitar since 1958. We would listen to the record over and over so we could play every note just right. Then we would see the band play it live and they played it completely different. We also found out years later that 70-75% of the recordings were with studio musicians and most songs were always over dubbed. Stop trying to be a music critic and just listen to the great music! I heard Badfinger live 2 times and this little band sounds pretty damn close to the originals. Most bands including Badfinger, Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc. never play the song the same way twice. If you think his guitar playing is shaky and amateurish, put up your video of playing the song! I would play to see this band play live. Hell, after a couple of drinks and maybe a doobie, I would think it was Badfinger! LOL
The high harmony was spot-on! That is hard to do! Most other bands I've heard cover this song mess up the high harmony at 2:06 - 2:08. I think it was the drummer singing it. Also, neat alternate chords from 0:08 - 0:10 and 0:59 - 1:01. I second that the recording was very good - live stuff normally does not sound this good. Amazing the beauty you can make with two guitars, a bass & drums. Nice job!
Great talent and great mix. The balance and emphasis is spot on and the minimal special effects results in a very clean presentation. Focus on timing and Mega Thank You.
