Hope you do a little research. As a christian evangelist on a project to translate the bible from english to portugues so enrolled in biblical hebrew to provide an accurate translation and in the progress of my learning i was horrified, petrified as one able to read and understand the context of those verses i've personally preached for years so down on my face in repentance. They have tricked us all. All translations are PURPOSELY mistranslated so you don't find out the truth and the animosity against jews is to keep us from the truth. Just a test of the absurdity that we have been made to believe or rather brain washed ...salvation comes from repentance from breaking HIS Ten Commandments; the word ELOHIM was translated to us "God" but the meaning is "powers" the word translated to us as"prayer"should read "petition" ; the word torah was translated to us as "law" bt should read "instructions" (go to psalms and change law to instructions); and the "mighty god, prince of peace great counselor is king hezekiah whos name is "mighty god" (by the way most of the names of prophets and kings and in general has been PURPOSELY mistranslated so you don't find out the Creator's name. the name of jesus is no where nor even any reference to him so furthermore come to find out the letter "J" was invented around the year 1500 and implemened after the year 1611 so was no such name in any language, and there is more but i urge everyone to learn biblical hebrew while stil available

It is my intention that in the next 14 weeks to go through your 14 postings - 1 a week, 1 hour a day.... I understand you have your plan of teaching. However, might you teach the following verses: Exod 16:16; Deut 4:34; Josh 23:13; 2 Kings 4:39; Hos 13:2; Neh 9:7; Zeph 3:8. There are other too including passages but these afore mentioned verses will help me greatly. Thank you. Lorraine

Praise the Lord....if you are learning Hebrew from someone they should have told you adjectives come after nouns in Hebrew.
Therefore, the verse cannot be translated as Wonderful Counselor...because the Hebrew word for wonderful comes before the noun.
Same applies for Mighty God and Everlasting Father.
    Hope this helps .

It's not there. You are being lied to. וַיִּקְרָא vayikra is Perfect (PAST TENSE)! Vayikra is the name of the 3rd book of the Scriptures. It starts with that word, And He called, NOT He will call. The other Christian deception is the word יֻלַּד Again, it's PAST TENSE. Careful who you learn Hebrew from.

      EXACTLY.
That''s what I'm saying. I question where else in scripture it's in the future tense. Isaiah 9:6 should say "his name WAS CALLED." The KJV translators lied in Is. 9:6.
      A few examples:
      Gen. 38:3:
and he called his name Er.
      וַיִּקְרָא אֶת-שְׁמוֹ, עֵר.
      Ex. 2:22:
      and he called his name Gershom;
      וַיִּקְרָא אֶת-שְׁמוֹ גֵּרְשֹׁם:
      Ex. 17:15:
and called the name of it YHWH-nissi.
      וַיִּקְרָא שְׁמוֹ, יְהוָה נִסִּי.

@@RadarRecon Missionaries will also use a term called prophetic perfect tense. They claim that's when the prophet is seeing the future after the events happened, and that's why it's past tense, but translated as future tense. More nonsense.

Magnolia this scripture is for king Ahaz because he had trouble s with other kingdoms so G-d was stating through the prophet Isaiah that a child would be born and before the child would be able to know to chose between good and evil the two kingdoms king Ahaz was worried about would be no more
    Referencing ch 7 in Isaiah
That is why at the end of verse 5 in Isaiah ch 9 the child is called prince of peace G-d is stating Israel will have peace
In no way shape or form was/is this verse intended to be a departure from the law and a commencement of idolatry which belief in any other deities not mentioned in Torah is , aka idolatry .

No it's not about Yeshu, its about Hezekiah. Hezekiah is called "a wonderful counselor" because this name is a sign, which foretells God's design for him.
The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying: "As I have thought, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand, that I will break Asshur in My land, and upon My mountains trample him under foot; then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulder." This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth; and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? And His hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back? (Isaiah 14:24-27)
Be not afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me. Behold, I will put a spirit in him, and he shall hear a rumor, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land. (Isaiah 37:6-7)
Hezekiah is called "the mighty God" because this name is a sign that foretells God's defense of Jerusalem through the miraculous sudden mass death of Sennacherib's army.
Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither shall he come before it with shield, nor cast a mound against it. By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and he shall not come to this city, says the Lord. For I will defend this city to save it, for My own sake, and for My servant David's sake. (Isaiah 37:33-35)
Hezekiah is called "the everlasting Father" because this name is a sign, which foretells that God will add years to his life. "Go, and say to Hezekiah: Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will add to your days fifteen years" (Isaiah 38:5). Hezekiah is called "the ruler of peace" because this name is a sign, which foretells that God would be merciful to him. Punishment for lack of faith in the Almighty will be deferred and peace granted during the last years of his rule. "Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah: 'Good is the word of the Lord which you have spoken.' He said moreover: 'If but there shall be peace and security in my days'" (Isaiah 39:8).
Archaeologists have found that there was a sudden expansion of Judean settlements in the years following the fall of the northern kingdom. This indicates that many refugees fled south, thus giving added significance to the statement "that the government may be increased." Hezekiah's kingdom is declared to be forever, for through his efforts to cleanse the Temple ritual of idolatry, even though apostasy followed under his son Menasseh, the Davidic dynasty was once more confirmed as the only true kingly rule that God would accept over his people "from henceforth and forever." The greatness of Hezekiah lies in his setting the stage for Israel's future. Hezekiah was a true reformer. He cleansed religious worship of foreign influence, purged the palace and the Temple of images and pagan altars, and reestablished pure monotheistic religion. In the long run Hezekiah's achievements would outlive him, leaving an everlasting, indelible impact on the history of his people. Thus, God, through Isaiah, bestows upon Hezekiah this name which honors the king by proclaiming the great things God will do for him, and, through him, for the people of Israel.

Having studied the Bible, and not relying on blind faith, but on facts, especially historical facts, I came to the conclusion that Jesus is the Messiah. Regarding Isaiah 9:6, it is only one of the countless Old Testament prophecies of the Messiah, and Jesus fulfilled it.

I sugest you study the tenses of the verbs. There is no jesus in the old testament nor any reference to him..The word "messiah" means "annointed" so all leaders ie. kings and prophets are called "messiah" in reference to "mighty god" that refers to king hezekiah whos name in hebrew means "mighty god" and he averted war so was call pronce of peace bc he gave good counsel to the people thus was called great counselor and he was from the dinasty of king david thus is a forever father so much more you must learn so my advice to you is teach the alephbet or nouns tillyou have a better understanding
