For a basic lesson in facial proportions,I wouldn't use portraits that are tilted or turned.
Best to use a picture of someone looking straight out.

True. The width from outer corners of your eyes is about the same length from the brow line to the bottom of your lips. That's just an example and I have yet to draw portraits yet.
