Great video, Joe. I've been thinking about shallow fishing. I'm still pretty new to pole fishing, so I enjoy your videos they help. They also inspire me to get my Chanel started. Keep up the good work.
Brilliant idea Joe with the bowl on other side I wouldn't have thought of that but definitely going to use this as local fishery to me as deep margins as well
Great Tip Joe. Will try at my local Lakes Warwick Wold. Even though there are many more Carp than F1's present, i think with the right amount of feeding up we can get the Carp to respond. I will let you know if it has worked. Cheers
hi joe cracking video and allways great advice , you are using a big head float and im liking the look of the clunk float ,could i used in the same way for a natural bait full. wonce again excellent vid👌👌
I fish a good mixed fishery with lots of F1's in the 2-4lb mark but also lots of carp in the 6-10lb mark so generally use a 19 dura slip elastic as its quite snaggy with some real power houses, would i bump fish against the size 19 using this technique or still set the hooks well with a heavier resistance?
@@MatchFishingFilms some of the margins are underpinned quite close to hidden tree stumps, I've fished it for sometime and you really struggle on anything less than a 17 absolute lightest even with the side puller. Obviously it looks like a softer elastic forms part of the almost self hooking process?
Great watch Joe , very informative, only thing that doesn't work for me is the cost of a decent amount of casters , match fishing is getting hellish expensive now , even pellets ain't that cheap anymore .
Absolutely it does work for carp! I've done it as far back as 2001 from memory. Personally I like casters for it, but as Joe says any small particles are the one - no reason why maggots, pellets or meat won't work (meat being my second option where allowed)
Many venues respond to shallow fishing now. Partly I think this is due to competitive pressure on commercials to over stock and hence fish having to come higher in the water to compete for food. It’s fun but not sure we’re taking our sport the right way.
Matty Dawes Fishing Match Report Monkhall Wednesday Open Venue Record! GREAT video also showing this method 3 years ago. Check his youtube channel for the video. I also went pleasure fishing and fished the same peg the same method as his and i was catching none stop its actually fun fishing.

Glad you like them!
Great video Joe, will definitely be putting a tub on my right hand side and looking forward to trying this at TBF soon 👍🎣🎣🎣
Should work a treat 👍🏻
Love your videos Joe, so informative thank you
Glad you like them!
Another great video Jo, helping me win more matches, cheers 😊
Happy to help!
Well, that’s my approach for later in the day on Saturday! Thanks! Great video.
Perfect!
Brilliant idea Joe with the bowl on other side I wouldn't have thought of that but definitely going to use this as local fishery to me as deep margins as well
I only thought of the bowl being there on the day!
The bowl is so genius but obvious, always felt wrong reaching right round for the feed . Thanks for sharing Joe .
good vid joe. I know you said you like having the ducks in the swim, but it would drive me mad !
Ha ha I’ve learnt to coexist 😂
Another brilliant video Joe every day's a school day thank you 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Glad you enjoyed it

Good luck!

Is say the float is a touch bulky for caster fishing with the clunk

Hmmmm it wouldn’t be my choice for shallow work but also it’s hard to imagine what the snags are like.

I know what you mean. I was using up old bait on this one. There are no cheap baits anymore sadly
@@MatchFishingFilms Your tip on vac sealing them is a good one too . I'm on that lake on Sunday and hopefully it's warming up 🙂
Great video Joe! Where abouts are you fishing mate?
Shearsby Valley Lakes - Willow peg 56 ish
What he said 😂
great video mate, dont you think trowing some ground bait almost in liquid state would work?
Definitely that’s how I fish that lake generally. Casters are great though
Could you put shot on your hook length if over 2" . Great video Joe as always.
You could but I prefer a bulk and don’t like pinching a bulk onto the hooklength 👍🏻
Great vid Joe … would a robin 4mm pellet or a caster sized wafter not be more resilient on the hook 👍
possibly
Would it work for carp Joe
definitely!
Cheers for that mate it's now in my armoury
Margins at my lake are 7 to 10 feet..what's the best depth to fish JoeM
Carp?
Yes carp
Lovely technique, does it work for Carp if so what bait would you use. Thanks
Almost certainly no it wouldn't.
Yea definitely! If you can use meat it works very well. The carp love feeding when the bait gets stuck in the reeds!

Would this work equally well against lily pads?
Yea it can work mega in that scenario
Could u do a video on trying to fish really shallow margins ?
Yea 👍🏻

Yes and I think F1s naturally want to look up for their food so are very happy to feed shallow
Where are you fishing Joe please

It's brill
I bet you're good at hook a duck 🎣
😂
Very good Joe, wouldn’t your pee paste work nicely in there? 👍
Yea it’s a great approach on that lake 👍🏻
Rabbits in a hat fishing get on a propper water
I spend six months of the year fishing on the river 😂 I’m allowed some ‘easy’ venues in summer
