They should go to Roots and Refuge farm to check out the horses. See if she feels comfortable with them.

I vote for a horse for Lily maybe two! They are amazing friends! let her go work with horses on another farm so she gets some experience... then decide. I took Western and English riding lessons so much fun! blessings from ~Idaho~
This! My daughter has ridden horses for years and it’s taught her so much self confidence, emotional regulation, etc. “There’s something about the outside of a horse that’s good for the inside of a man.” Reagan said that, I think.
That's a great idea! Experience horses hands on with someone who already has some.
Get a Morgan gelding for Lily. I had one at her age. They are a small horse and have been coined the golden retriever of horses!
Jonah and Josiah are the two hardest working young men I have ever seen. Amazing boys. Lilly has been cooking simce she was 5 and almost always milks cows. Gideon is catching up.🐾🐕🐶🐮🐄🐐🐣😸🐴🐑

Get that poor child a horse, dad. My 13 year old daughter started riding on her 9th birthday and it was the best thing for her anxiety and ADHD. It taught her emotional regulation, self confidence, problem solving, teamwork, so many things. Plus more manure to make compost, another animal to help graze, etc.
Riding at a place is one thing, owning one is totally another thing...I think lily should start by getting riding lessons and learning how to care for one atleast one day a week at a stable or someone's horse... she is very hard working and smart and it will help her know how to handle one when she does get one...
I remember the day my Dad bought my bike. Not a dirt bike, just small street bike. First wheels ... FREEDOM in 1970's small town America. BEST DAY EVER!! Congrats boys! Be safe & have a blast!!
Justin, my grand daughter has been taking horse riding lessons since she was 6...just saying! It totally builds her confidence. :) Lily is old enough to take lessons off farm & it will allow her to decide if she wants the responsibility & expense for a small horse or a large pony. Glad the boys are getting one of their dreams into reality - they sure deserve it!

The horse can be in a stable or pen for some of the time : ) my parents said I couldn't have a pony so I nagged them from age 5-11 years when they finally gave in....I am 43 now and I still own a horse to this day! You could try a stocky-built pony around 13.2hh, they run on the smell of an oily rag but are still big enough for your children to ride.
Such awesome & fun things. 😍😍 Lily makes me remember myself. Such happy memories. I got my first horse when I was 11. I had to learn so much but we had cattle and many of the other kinds of farm animals so it wasn't so hard. All my extra time was spent with my horse. ❤❤

The boys truly deserve it, they earned it because of all their hardworking.
Lily has earned it as well,getting her a decent sized pony and learning to take care of it would be a good lesson for her at her age.
why would Lilly have to compromise for a pony? did the boys have to start with electric bicycles? no! he just spent mega bucks on the boys because they" work hsrd" what does Lilly do? the same as them ,her dad had to ask her how old She is ...wow...

Just gonna be honest Justin…the fact that sweet adorable hard working Lilly doesn’t have a horse yet when you have all that land in the country…and her being the only little girl with all those boys…get baby girl a horse already she works so hard and she certainly deserves it!
The Rhodes boys are gonna have a blast with their new toy! they are hard working responsible young men and they totally deserve it! I’m surprised they didn’t ask for a Tesla lol. Josiah who by the way looks exactly like a young Boots is glowing with excitement…I love that!

My goodness I am just so excited for your boys!! Very well deserved! This video was awesome! Them cleaning up after dinner all quick because they wanted to go. Haha! The joy on their faces! And then your ear to ear smile after you rode it! Looks like a lot of fun!
We had to get old bikes that didn’t run and had to learn how to make them run. My brothers turned into mechanics from old cars, the desire to get things running is a great motivator. I recommend older toys like that, and when they are older they will work towards getting new things.💕
I hope Lily get's to learn to ride too :) You're a GREAT Dad !!
The boys are great help outside, but Lily is a huge help both inside with Mom and outside with dad.
Hopefully Lily at least is allowed regular riding lessons, and is permitted to volunteer a few afternoons per month at a stable to learn proper care and treatment of the North American equine.
why ? did the boy have to take mechanic classes , take safety classes ,learn to maintain their bikes, ? I doubt it , wow this is soo disappointeing from this man , he doesn't see what his daughter does to contribute to the family , shame on him , and shame on Rebecca even more for not standing up for her daughter , I will not support any chauvinistic you know what , I'm unsubscribing

I spent thousands of hours in my youth riding dirt bikes, some of my best memories.
Bu a second used bike is great, they will learn how to fix it, and small engines and carburetors are great to learn with, they need two bikes to ride together.
I rebuilt my first 2-smoke engine at the age of 12.
Buy good safety gear, and make them wear the safety gear, "All The Gear All The Time".
Helmets, Boots, Gloves, Knee pads, long pants, and long shirts will be what you need.
BTW I broke more than a few bones riding dirt bikes, but that was a learning experience too!
You should set up the giant tent once at home before you take it to an event.
Justin if you make the kids wear a helmet then you should lead by example and wear one too, just saying...

A horse will be a great help for your daughter to learn responsibility not to mention the love of relationship for both. She will do so good with her first horse!

Your the parents every kids deserves.
My wife and I are very like minded and inline with your parenting philosophy. Our three kids learnt to ride a bike at 3.5 years old and our latest at just 3 years old. We let them explore and participate in dangerous activities but do it safely. Our son and oldest daughter are now learning to properly ride a MX bike and have indicated they want to race next year. I support that and they so far understand the risks. But we do it safely.
Our kids have chores, aside from their own room and personal things management, they also do the dishes, vacuum, weeding etc.... our only rule is that they atleast give something 6 months before making a decision to continue or not.
Letting the boys be boys. We went through it all. I remember fracturing my arm after slipping from a tree we were playing on. They need to learn these things early. There is much worse waiting for them outside the home environ and these things will help them not only adjust but also deal with them.
Now- all you had to was climb down. Over here break dancing down trees.
Letting boys be boys based on my brothers means: letting boys be a little clumsy heheh
@@kitnkindlin683 We would try to do it like monkeys and jump from branch to branch, climbing down was not an option in our adventurous minds then, that only occurred after a double fracture and a cast was on.
Love seeing your children doing dangerous things safely! My brothers and I did all of these things and grew up just fine! I hope that Lily gets her wish too! Horses will be good for her! Happiness! 🌼

Hearing your kids out and respecting the hard work they do and trusting them to use these tools safly will help them to build trust in you to hear their side of things and consider their points of view which i think so many parents are missing these day with their families

Have you heard of a surron or talaria? They are super light electric dirt bikes. Great toys for at home. Lots of fun and very little maintenance

We are a 4-wheeler and dirt bike family. I am SO EXCITED for your boys. When my husband and I were dating (both in our 30's), he gave me riding gear for my birthday. I knew then that he loved me - it was as precious as the ring that he later gave me (🙂). We have had many, many fun adventures together as a family. Added bonus is the amount that it will help with the farm. Have fun, boys!

Even free horse isn’t free. There’s feed, farriers, equine dentals, wormers, high quality hay and then tack!
My daughter got a horse at ten. I gave her a few lessons and she ended up riding in rodeo as barrel racer. It was the best thing I ever did

Seeing this video being back memories of my childhood and how me and my little brother wanted a dirt bike and 4wheeler so bad we would beg and pray each Christmas that we would wake up and they would be there next to the tree 🌲 unfortunately we never got them 😒, I didn’t understand then that we just couldn’t afford them 😔, but seeing the joy on your children faces when y’all got to the Honda shop and back home made me so happy to see them get their dirt bike and 4wheeler 😌

Your boys are so intelligent, have good heads on their shoulders, work so well together, and are becoming such good stewards of your animals and farm. Their excitement was so tangible, but you're right;, you're two older boys have earned these new pieces of equipment, are more than capable of using them intelligently,, and will make them useful equipment for both farm and fun. So happy for you all. It will be a long time before your other two boys reach their age and experience. Next will be your beautiful daughter. But that will still be in a couple of years. God bless.

I purposely didn't watch this when you posted it because I remember raising boys and how I let them do things, and the ER visits afterwards. After seeing Jonah, I decided I could now watch it because the learning experience has happened. So thankful he is going to be okay and he was allowed this experience. Horses can be helpful on a homestead (have to help Lily.)
