    Would anyone here agree that ‘traditional wax’ every 3-4 months followed by polish every 1-2 years is more cost-effective than expensive glass/ceramic-coating? Thanks in advance for answering this. 🙂

    Jimbo, I'd like to see a revisit to this topic. This is almost 2.5 years old and we've all had a lot of exposure. I think a compare/contrast vs. this original episode would be interesting.

    Great info. Yes there are cheaper coatings out there. I've bought them from China for a low as $380 a liter (and it wasn't all that great compared to Ceramic Pro or Modesta (it was water based instead of solvent based)). The solvent percentage are really what makes the coatings different (Like Ceramic Pro 9h vs Ceramic Pro Strong (strong has less solvents and sets up thicker/faster)). Anyways, the prep time and application time roughly the same no matter what coating you're using (unless you're cutting corners to cut cost or paying yourself peanuts for your time). So you're really only cutting the cost by a few hundred dollars max per job. The prep time is the most crucial thing for a coating, just like a paint job, its all about the prep. Every car is different too, so the paint correction time will always vary. Ceramic Coatings eliminate the need to wax/seal as often. Yes it can scratch but you can polish them out of the coating and re apply. It is a sacrificial clear coat for your clear coat.

    Does anyone know of a proper fume mask that will protect me from nano coating fumes. I get headaches after installing and the disposable 3m masks don't help.
    Thanks in advance guys!

    Wow ramble much? The actual content of this podcast encompassed 15 min max, filled by 30 minutes of rambles. Example 4 -5 minutes rambling on obvious reasons not to carry one brand.

      It would be like removing clearcoat from the top coat of your car paint... Won't be fun, I would think wetsand... But then why coat it in the first place??

    Coated 5 cars with GTechniq Crystal Serum Light. It is time consuming to polish,IPA wipe down and apply the coating but the results and durability are fabulous. Over a year and a half and looks and acts like new in Ohio's winter full of salted roads. Worth the time and money. DIY and save. Bought at Autogeek.com Stay out of car washes and you'll be fine.

    I'm not a detailer but how would you remove a scratch that's on a ceramic coated with ceramic pro 9H?

    • @AK-ui1zl
      @AK-ui1zl 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The same way you would get it out on a regular clear coat. Sand (if needed), cut, and polish it out. The ceramic coating is a sacrificial clear coat in a way.
