You know, I used to hate the design of this truck but after seeing a dark gray Z71 RST Silverado in person, the design grew on me. The videos and the images you see on the internet really do not do this truck justice. If you want to make informed decision on deciding whether or not to buy this truck, I encourage you to see the truck in person. It might change your mind. Of course the interior amentities are not as luxurious as the Ram but I feel that is not really the point of a SIlverado. Silverados are built for heavy duty use and are built to last many years. I really wouldn't compare Ford, Chevy/GMC, and Ram when all three of these manuafactures are being built to serve a unique customer. I feel Ford is geared more towards the performance truck category, GMC/Chevy for work usuage, and the Ram for the person who is more inclined to want a luxurious vehicle that is not an SUV. Granted this is just my opinion but to each their own.
Just bought a 2016 z71 ltz with the 5.3 and love it. I been driving toyotas my whole life but couldnt walk away from this truck. Lots of people bashing the interior, but l personally think its high quality and functional.

More than my mortgage shoot! I can't justify buying a new truck especially one I actually work with. They making so fancy who wants to work with them. Plus all the short beds don't work for my line of work. Do they even make 6.5 beds any longer. All the beds I see are what 4.7 to 5.8. I work in home improvement that won't cut it & don't want or need to pull a trailer all the time.

I have a 1997 z71 with 300,000 plus kilometers and it hasn't skipped a beat. I bought it last year for my first truck as a 17 year old for four grand and it's rust free! Bought a 2019 Trail Boss Z-71 Silverado. I get non-stop POSITIVE comments at traffic lights, parking lots, everywhere I go! The 3 most commented things I hear is 1) the off-road 4 x4 sporty look with black out grills, step rails, etc. 2) 2” lift and specialized suspension with new body style. The tires and wheels are also blacked out with an impressive look. 3) the color is a new deep dark blue, and being a Michigan and New England Fan it works for me.
Have a 2016 4x4, LT, crew with 5.3L has 85k heavy towing miles. One rearend pinion seal. Other than that flawless!! Drives, looks like new, not a single rattle. Will buy again.
I have the 2015 2wd LT crew with 5.3L V8 and it's seriously the greatest truck I've ever had. I've never had to replace anything, however disagrees has probably never driven one.
I was a lifetime GM/Chevy fan, but certainly don't like the direction of the new design. Wound up going with the all new Ram 1500 BigHorn crew cab. Doesn't matter what brand you go with, every single one has their pros and cons. Best thing to do is to choose the one that meets your needs and enjoy it.

@@BlessedEraProduction Remote start is paramount even during the summer months in Florida. Get the a/c going to cool er down. One thing that I really don't care for is the start/stop feature most automakers are going with. Can't be good on the starter long term, so I stayed away from it.
Save $10,000 or more and get a certified pre-owned with low miles. That is what I did. Saved $12,000 off original sticker on a truck with 9400 miles on it. Still kind of had that new car smell.
Father in law has new 2019 Chevrolet truck with 871 miles on it. It was nice until we got some rain and it was muddy back to his house. He was using the 4 wheel drive to get thru the mud and not half way thru he said all he heard was a thump and got stuck. I headed out there in my 79 chevy and while I was pulling his truck out I notice that the front driver side Tire wasn't spinning, just the passenger side. And differential fluid was sprayed out from what looks like a skinny hose used as a breather for the front differential. So Chevrolet wouldn't tow it because the nearest dealer is about 120 miles away. So ended up loading it up on a Gooseneck flatbed and used my dad ram 2500 to tow it. They replaced the front differential and transfer case and CV axle from what I heard from my father in law and broken leaf. Now it has 7,458 miles and he drives it to work and about 9 miles on a haul road for coal trucks, he said all the plastic are starting to rattle in the truck. He got it for $64,000..
Ford, Chevy, Ram all make beautiful trucks (I’m sure Toyota & Nissan do too). It would be tough to choose if I was in the market for a full-size truck.
Have a 2016 6.2 Ltz crew cab. Just rolled 100,000 last week and stills runs like I just pulled it off the lot. Purrs like a kitten. I agree 16-18 best looking Silverado. Now huge fan of this new body style.
I bought an RST Duramax and I love it. The in-line six is so unbelievably smooth with the 10 speed transmission. The shifts are nearly imperceptible. It feels like you’re riding a huge wave of torque all the time. Styling is subjective but to me this is by far the most masculine and aggressive looking truck out there. It looks a lot like the new Camaro front end. The competitors designs just don’t do it for me and I’m not a fan of the huge snub nose/grill on the sierra.
2016-2018 still has the best looking front end in my opinion of any Chevy truck ever made. Love my 2017 LTZ. I’m not a fan of the 2019 front end. I do like the overall capability of the trail boss, but I cannot get past that front end design.
I've never had a truck, but being someone who buys a new motorcycle every few years, I know I really need to get one since renting a U-Haul sucks sometimes but a co-worker of mine has this truck in grey and I love the look of it. Not sure I can justify the cost as of now, so I guess I have a few years of saving ahead of me lol
OKCTHUNDER5 always shop online for the best rates. I recommend looking into big dealerships because they go by volume. Chevy hasn’t been performing well in the truck market so they have a lot of deals and rebates. The truck was originally 50k but with rebates and discounts they offer I got it to 35k
ButImNotAReviewer if you don’t mind me asking which dealership did you buy from? I live in Oklahoma and I’ve looked at the big dealers here and down in the Dallas area and they aren’t offering that high of discount especially on the LTZ trim
I like that hood design better than my 2018. Other than that.. it looks like crap! GM is going in a bad design direction. By the time my 18 is ready to trade in if the designs aren't better I'm switching brands. Been loyal to GM for 20+yrs
You can get a high country with a couple thousand miles on it for way less than 60k just wait a couple months or buy a used one with some miles and it’s cheaper
@Wypipo Trippin the chevrolet is definiatly more reliable yes, but for 60k which is 80k where I live in canada, you should be getting a nicer interior, if you are worried about the massive screen for work btw, then dont get a limited. There is nothing wrong the the interior it will still work whatever, but the competition is far ahead.

I've had cylinder heads off twice for lifter failure. The Vacuum pump for the brakes failed backing out of my garage. My truck is a 2015. GM lost my future purchases.
I was a GMC guy up until I bought a 2008 Sierra and it was cheaply built and nothing but trouble... I Traded it in on a Toyota Tundra and I couldn't be happier with it!
This body style grew on me. Didn’t really like it at first but it’s not bad actually in person. The only thing I dislike about this truck is the stop/start function. But I think you can disable it if I’m not mistaken.
I love Chevy but I wish they really had better gauge clusters and interiors compared to like ram top trims. They look cheap for paying 50-60k for a new truck

I just bought a 2019 1500 Silverado LTZ with the Max Trailering Package, and my dash is different. I don't have the four little LED top center gauges, they're still actual, physical gauges, and I have no HUD either. They must have put what I have in the early '19's and what you're showing in the later '19's. I did have a HUD though in my 2017 2SS Camaro, and it was basically useless because you couldn't see it with sun glasses on anyway.
It looks like a f150 it also looks like some drunk and high college intern designed THIS truck and on top of that they put a 4cyl turbo in it!!! Seriously 😅 at 80k on it towing a pop up camper I can see it blowing a head gasket!! No thanks
Just bought this model, info system has an issue, and dealership and gm couldn’t fix the problem. Info system not working sometimes, speakers and backup camera. It sad dealership and gm won’t fix it until code shows up!
I had a 2004 Silverado before and loved the comfort of the ride. But GM needs to address that console display being too small. One of the reasons that I went with a Ram earlier this year.
Drove a 6.2 about 5 years ago. Nice truck, but it’s power was disappointing. Not sure where the extra gas is going. I’d get a 5.3. Save money upfront and daily
I would say it would work really well. I bought the 2015 when it came out, it just crossed 40,000 miles and I haven't had to replace or do anything to the truck. It really is a nice truck!
I have a 2007 Silverado lt with a 5.3 tow a25 ft enclosed trailer regularly 287000 mile other than one coil and a wheel bearing at 200000 only normal maintenance awesome truck!!!!
I have a 2001 Silverado with 274K miles. A week ago she needed transmission work but other than that she hasn't needed anything major. Best vehicle I've ever purchased.
I would love to have a new truck but hate making the payment every month. If I made a few hundred grand a year that would be one thing but every time I think about buying a new truck I just listen to Dave Ramsey. I would advise others to do the same.

Value is when you purchase a expensive vehicle and it lasts without having any drive train defects or recalls. I'll stick with Nissan or Toyota, they aren't perfect but they are solid and a better finished product in my experience.
Sam White put a 2 inch level on and some wheels/tires. Also get a Chevrolet decal for the back to fill in the letters. If you want to do exhaust I’d recommend dual super 10’s. Nice aggressive sound but very little drone.
No value for the money isnt a Silverado. It's actually pretty expensive. The interior looks exactly the same. I hat how the shift is positioned and the way they tried attaching the exhaust to the bumper. They tried to make it look to boxy in the rear side making it look awkward. Ram offers more and is way better in terms of quality. Silverado used to be good... not anymore. Rams are selling out real quick taking most of the market share now. Such a great,beautiful and functional car.
Sultan Obaidan the Silverado is known to be boxy..that’s just a gm design tradition, you must not know much about American trucks? Also, the column shifter being mounted there is a good thing..it saves a ton of space in the console

The position of the shifter is awkward and the interior hasn't changed but slightly. It looks so dry. As of the exterior of the truck. It hasn't been boxy like this one is with the ugly bumper, exhaust tips and rear end overall. The front end is good but rear is just.... When I got in the car I honestly felt sick to be in it. Doesnt seem like a comfortable daily in my opinion. I'm really disappointed.

I don't agree you'd be "stupid" to buy this one, it's grown on me the more I see it. That said, I DO agree that the 16-18 was a great design. Modern, yet still very obvious truck style design.

The ltz is like 2500 dollars cheaper than the high country and the price difference is 100% in the mandatory 20 inch wheels. Put 20s on the ltz and they cost within pocket change of eachother. And neither of the trucks are luxury, ram is the only truck maker with a luxury truck. I like gm trucks but I wouldnt go past an rst

I just bought a 2019 1500 Silverado LTZ with the Max Trailering Package, and my dash is different. I don't have the four little LED top center gauges, they're still actual, physical gauges, and I have no HUD either. They must have put what I have in the early '19's and what you're showing in the later '19's. I did have a HUD though in my 2017 2SS Camaro, and it was basically useless because you couldn't see it with sun glasses on anyway.
It depends on what packages and options are on the pickup when you buy or or make it

It looks like a f150 it also looks like some drunk and high college intern designed THIS truck and on top of that they put a 4cyl turbo in it!!! Seriously 😅 at 80k on it towing a pop up camper I can see it blowing a head gasket!! No thanks

Just bought this model, info system has an issue, and dealership and gm couldn’t fix the problem. Info system not working sometimes, speakers and backup camera. It sad dealership and gm won’t fix it until code shows up!
I had a 2004 Silverado before and loved the comfort of the ride. But GM needs to address that console display being too small. One of the reasons that I went with a Ram earlier this year.

Drove a 6.2 about 5 years ago. Nice truck, but it’s power was disappointing. Not sure where the extra gas is going. I’d get a 5.3. Save money upfront and daily

What I like it the gear shifter it's on the wheel it's not on the bottom you dont see trucks that have a gear shifter on the wheel

How reliable are these after 100k miles?
I would say it would work really well. I bought the 2015 when it came out, it just crossed 40,000 miles and I haven't had to replace or do anything to the truck. It really is a nice truck!

I have a 2007 Silverado lt with a 5.3 tow a25 ft enclosed trailer regularly 287000 mile other than one coil and a wheel bearing at 200000 only normal maintenance awesome truck!!!!
I have a 2001 Silverado with 274K miles. A week ago she needed transmission work but other than that she hasn't needed anything major. Best vehicle I've ever purchased.

I would love to have a new truck but hate making the payment every month. If I made a few hundred grand a year that would be one thing but every time I think about buying a new truck I just listen to Dave Ramsey. I would advise others to do the same.

Value is when you purchase a expensive vehicle and it lasts without having any drive train defects or recalls. I'll stick with Nissan or Toyota, they aren't perfect but they are solid and a better finished product in my experience.

Trade it In for a Ford
Sam White put a 2 inch level on and some wheels/tires. Also get a Chevrolet decal for the back to fill in the letters. If you want to do exhaust I’d recommend dual super 10’s. Nice aggressive sound but very little drone.

No value for the money isnt a Silverado. It's actually pretty expensive. The interior looks exactly the same. I hat how the shift is positioned and the way they tried attaching the exhaust to the bumper. They tried to make it look to boxy in the rear side making it look awkward. Ram offers more and is way better in terms of quality. Silverado used to be good... not anymore. Rams are selling out real quick taking most of the market share now. Such a great,beautiful and functional car.
Sultan Obaidan the Silverado is known to be boxy..that’s just a gm design tradition, you must not know much about American trucks? Also, the column shifter being mounted there is a good thing..it saves a ton of space in the console
@@T3CHK1NG54 I own a Silverado (2014) and have owned a Sierra (2006). You really think I dont know much... I know the shifter is there to save space. The position of the shifter is awkward and the interior hasn't changed but slightly. It looks so dry. As of the exterior of the truck. It hasn't been boxy like this one is with the ugly bumper, exhaust tips and rear end overall. The front end is good but rear is just.... When I got in the car I honestly felt sick to be in it. Doesnt seem like a comfortable daily in my opinion. I'm really disappointed.

I don't agree you'd be "stupid" to buy this one, it's grown on me the more I see it. That said, I DO agree that the 16-18 was a great design. Modern, yet still very obvious truck style design.

The ltz is like 2500 dollars cheaper than the high country and the price difference is 100% in the mandatory 20 inch wheels. Put 20s on the ltz and they cost within pocket change of eachother. And neither of the trucks are luxury, ram is the only truck maker with a luxury truck. I like gm trucks but I wouldnt go past an rst
