    Thank you for the information. That’s the set up. I think I want to take to Alaska on a fishing trip. It would be my first “real” camera set up. I think it would be a solid star to capture landscape and wildlife.

      Excellent choice! I would recommend the Sony 6700 with kit lens so you are covered for closer focal ranges and the 70-350 will take care of the rest. That combo will keep you busy for a while. I would also suggest the Peak Design Cuff amzn.to/4hgPfod or Camera Strap amzn.to/3E3ptVP
      A comforting insurance policy to keep your new gear attached to YOU.

    I bought this lens a few months ago for my Sony A6400 and I'm delighted with the result. I use it mainly to take wildlife photos

      The 6400 was my first camera! That camera started my venture (addiction) now I have 3 Sony APS-c cameras 📷. The 70-350 is currently my go to lens when I head out for a walk.

    Two lens combo for Sony APSC: Tamron 17-70 and Sony 70-350. Brilliant!

      I have a Sony 18-105 f4 and Sony 70-350 video coming up! Keep a look out!

      @@Neff-Tekk I have the 18-105 f4 and the 70-350. Those two lenses together are a great combination for travelling.

    I love this lens, I run it on my a6700 together with a sigma 10-18 2.8 and a Sony 16-55g 2.8. The total setup is around 2 kg's and i have a fullframe range from 15mm to 525mm and all have the same filter diameter. Such a good setup for traveling, hiking etc.

      I have a very similar combo, Sony 6700 w/ Sony 11m f1.8, Sony 16-55 f2.8 and the Sony 70-350 (plus my favorite video lens the Sony 18-105 f4). Today I was taking photos with my 16-55 and was missing the reach of my 70-350, I kept tapping out the zoom with a slap from tryin got keep zooming.😂
      How do you like that sigma 10-18?...

    • @clarasdk
      @clarasdk 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Neff-Tekk I have only had the Sigma for a short period, but until I like it a lot. It is sharp, very small and light. It is perfect together with the two other lenses because it has the same filter size, so I do not need to bring stepdown rings etc. I am very focused on keeping my bag light for travel etc :) In march I will be participating in a night sky photography course and i hope the Sigma is good enough for that eventhough it is 2.8.

    Thanks for this review, really tempted to add this lens to my A6700 setup. I love motorsport/outdoors photography and think this lens will be perfect for it along with my sony 16-55 f2.8
    Do you think Sony will release an updated version of this lens? Would hate to buy it for something better to be released shortly after.
    Many thanks

      I highly recommend you do. I also have the 16-55, both lens came out in the same year, 2019. The most recent lenses updated are the 10-20mm, 11mm, 15mm and the 16-50 ii (kit lens). This really flushes out an excellent line up of lens options for the APS-c camera line and I don't see them dropping much more anytime soon, especially since they just dropped the ZVE-10ii and the 6700. Now that customer base has all these lens options to purchase and strategic for them to have the last 4 APS-c lens to drop be around content creation needs (TH-cam)... with a robust zoom line up still available. My APS-c lens line up, Sony 11mm, Sony 16-55mm, Sony 18-105mm, Sony 70-350mm, Viltrox 27mm Pro. Hope this helps!

    I appreciate your review! I am planning to get this lens, but is there any other telephoto lens you can compare this with??

      I do have a Sony 18-105 F4, which is one of my favorite, but its not in that telephoto zoom range. I decided to upgrade from that Sony 18-105 to the 70-350, together an excellent combo.

      @@Neff-Tekk To my knowledge, this Sony 70-350mm lens is the best/sharpest telephoto lens made for Sony APSC. Tamron makes an 18-300mm which should be reasonably good. Sony also makes a 55-210mm as another alternative to consider. My son owns the Sony 18-105, which he uses for for video as it has a power zoom button. It is just as functional for photography. I own the 70-350mm and it does produce nice sharp images. Both of these lenses have optical steady shot (oss), which is especially great for longer focal lengths. I think his recommendation to own both the 18-105mm and the 70-350mm makes very good sense as these lenses together cover a very wide range of focal lengths and are both quality lenses.

    Have you tried to take some pictures of the moon with this lens + Clear Image Zoom? Or a video...
    I was thinking of buying this lens...

      I have not done any night photography with this lens but your question has me curious and there is a full moon Monday night…. if the weather permits, I will get out and take photos of the moon and a little video and post it on TH-cam. Keep an eye out for it!
      And I did just post a lens comparison video with some photos of the 70 to 350 and the Sony 18-105. If you are an APS-C shooter I highly recommend both for the collection.

      Last night I got photos of the moon! with clear image zoom! I will be making a video about it because I ran into some unexpected issues while trying to use clear image zoom. Hopefully I will get the video out this week!

    So even on a apsc camera the starting focal length is 1.5 times? Meaning 105mm is the starting ??can you please clarify...

    • @Neff-Tekk
      @Neff-Tekk  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes that is correct. I have never owned a full frame camera to compare side by side, but I really want to give it a shot 📸😂. The focal length with Sony APSc cameras is x 1.5 to equal its full frame counterpart. Honestly it rarely comes to mind when taking photos and videos, i’m always focused on trying to capture the moment and the focal length numbers are there if I need them. I still consider my self a noob, so there may be some technical explination on the importance of focal length with light, exposure, how the earth spins and all that jazz, but im just trying to capture life through my eyes. I used to watch all these technical videos on that stuff, which has its place of importance, but honestly, it didnt make me want to get out and shoot, it made me overthink what and why. Hopefully this helps.

    Honestly, I’m not super impressed with the IQ of the photos I get with this lens. Probably has to do with amount of air the light has to travel, but very often I get somewhat blurry photos, or just photos with less contrast than I would like.
    The focus ring is awful, it makes noises and not smooth at all (could be just my copy though)
    350mm basically means you want to be around 1/500s when zoomed in and with F number of 6.3 you ISO will go up once there is a hint of sun setting down
    Funny fact: at 70mm it will cover full frame sensor, but the edges will suffer from vignette and distortion.
    Overall, it is a niche lens and I would advise all new photographers to stay away from this lens and only buy once you have a very confident use case for it

      I appreciate your input but as a beginner I love this lens and it will remain in my kit. Im sure once I have more experience I may better relate to your input, but so far, no issues with ISO noise (yet) and no issues with lack of contrast. I agree that beginners should have a reason to get it because it is very specific in its nature and that is why I bought it! I often see things through these zoom ranges / focal lengths so this has been EPIC for me. Oh and my focus ring on this lens is the least smooth of all my lenses..... But I predominately use auto focus and touch screen focus (noob style) so it doesn't bother me.
      Thank you for the HONEST input.
