- Let’s try out some new exciting supplies and pens!
I’ll compare the inks and pens in different types of paper and discover something unexpected about the more expensive inks!
I’ll swatch them on cartridge paper (Seawhite of Brighton sketchbook), on both bright white and natural white Art Creations and Rhodia paper.

German 'w' pronounced like a 'v', Kaweco, you had it right, I love the colour of the Kaweco sport and that beautiful octopus ink you paired it with! fun video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks! That colour speaks to me recently. I’ve seen many people use it and my brain is like: I want it too 😆 I used it more in my art creations sketchbook as background under drawings and the washes it produced are very vibrant and lovely.
That colour of the Kaweco Sport pen is everything! (I have the pearlescent version and I love it!)
Yes!!! Most pens I looked at were boring colours. I was so glad kaweco was available in multiple fun colours to pick from! And even better that it matches with the ink perfectly. Oooh, pearlescent sounds very pretty 🤩
HI 💕
Nice coincidence, i currently have China blue and Coral in my fountain pens :D I think i'll buy the rose quartz, it is so beautiful! Also i didn't know Herbin makes a refillable pen, this is very interesting. Thank you for sharing your haul and thoughts 🌷
Thanks so much for your comment! That is a coincidence, indeed!
With herbin rollerball, I’m still testing it out and it’s had a few flow issues and a small amount of internal leaking, but I’ve only used it for a very short time. So far I’m still happy with it but it’s not as good as I expected. I still like the fact that I can refill it as that gives me the option to use my own inks. One thing about it is that it’s got a felt part just before the nib which soaks up the ink so it might be very tricky to change to a different colour.
Rose quartz is really nice though it only works on some papers. On my art creations it feathers a lot unless I use a very flat colour with a brush if that makes sense. On proper pen like Rhodia it works like a charm though!
@@WeirdIsTheBest thank you very much for the update on rose quartz and herbin, this is useful to know 💕🙏💕
@@StephaniePessoaArt I think everyone might have a different opinion! I’m sharing my own experience for the purposes I use those materials for. I found that nothing can substitute trying things out for myself 🙂
Did you consider that your inks might have been feathering because the paper had been wet before? Since the coral one didn’t feather at the top where the paper had been dry. The water may have ruined the sizing on that page from the other side!
That’s a very good point! I was looking at that page earlier and it occurred to me that this might have been the case. I’ll test them again and report back.
They didn’t do well on the onion skin journal, but on cartridge paper I used them on another side to a page that was a bit wet before.
Thanks for your comment! I’ll be back with the results later on!
Coming back after more tests:
Most of the inks feather on cartridge stock unless I use them with a brush as a thin layer. The only one that passes my tests was quink.
I think cartridge paper is probably not suitable for ink.
