Note: The four characters from this expansion can be played with the base game or first expansion with no other part of the expansion. We misspoke on that!
One thing to know about building the monuments that I don't think was clear in the video is that any player in any realm that meets a condition for adding to the monument can. It's not a solo effort. I've found in our games that we prioritize the monuments that we want to go after first and all work towards getting them knocked out as quickly as possible. That decreases the wastelands being added and also adds favorable events that might come up. But I do agree some monuments are tough to do based on the goals, characters, or situations you might find yourself in.
Building the monuments by themselves is not worth it. However, building the monuments stops wastelands spawning, allows good special events to happen, and gives you access to your missing building.
100% agree! Those Wastelands are the woooooorst (Jean Ralphio voice) and the Monuments are super tough to construct! We got 2-3 months in before we got our first built. By that time, it was lousy with Wastelands.
@@XShrike0 Yes, we played it correctly. But depending on the Adversary, completing one step in construction may be completely counter to what you need to do to prevent "bad stuff" from happening. I'm sure there are different combos of Adversary/Monsters that aren't as difficult. I'm sure the app figures all this in though, since it picks only 4 random Monuments to construct each game.
Thanks for the review! I’ve been curious about this expansion, I’d get it just for the characters and hopefully they make some changes in a new edition to make the monuments more interesting. The me you mentioned where you can remove a foe for 20 armies is pretty lame. There are treasures in the treasure deck that do that for cheaper!
We did misspeak in the video I think, and the characters are fully compatible in just base game or with the first expansion, so that part is fantastic. I think the remove a foe for 20 armies is that expensive because it's an action you can repeat, whereas most of those treasures are one time use, if memory serves. But as we said, I wasn't as wild about the monuments.
One other "gameplay content" expansion and the other one is just the miniatures. Not sure exactly how I'd rank my favorite, but the first one seems like a better first expansion to add. -Chris

No, I think you said it correctly or at least that’s the assumption I had anyways
I believe you can only play with one expansion or the other unless i missed something.
I need a review on this from Tom. He reviewed the other expansions and I'd love his 2 cents. Also with that, a comparison review on all expansions.

All true. We could have been more specific that all players in any location contribute to the monuments, but they're still tough!

We're y'all playing that they are built together? If anyone completes an objective, it counts.

So which expansion is better!? We still don't know!

Why have there been multiple minutes of black screen at the end of some of the more recent videos?
It's... the Return of the Dark Tower!
There were some technical issues with our editing software. It has been resolved.
I wish this was a modular game. It was a lost opportunity. It's annoying to have to pick one expansion or the other.
The app does change at least one of the scenarios to be all about monuments.
Oh cool, I stand corrected!
Wait aren’t there two other expansions so far? How would you rank it with the other two?

Nothing they added so far was actually worth it in my view
