My Father owned Wormistone Farm which had a sea boundary to the 5th green. I'm 75 now but as a young lad I played this amazing course, often three rounds a day during summer !! Back then a new Years day tournament was played when the soil was frozen and the ball hardly stopped. Memories beyond happiness.
Played there with my wife a few summers ago. The day was windy so the course was challenging. We had a group ahead of us playing and filming so the round was slow but we were able to spend some time with the group of members behind us and they were warm and welcoming. A special place.
I had no idea this place existed…and now that you guys have shined such an amazing spotlight on it, its right at the top of my golfing bucket list. Well done
Just discovered your channel (via Insta) and just played here a few weeks ago on a pilgrimage to St Andrews. One day we played TOC in the morning and Balcomie in the afternoon and it was incredible. I loved everything about the place just as you’ve perfectly summarised in this great little film. Look forward to watching others.
That’s a hell of a trip! Glad you enjoy the films - we love doing them! Balcomie is just a great course you could play every day. The headliners are all beasts (maybe TOC is the exception), but Crail is just a great course you could play over and over! Where else did you play on the trip?
@@CookieJarGolf absolutely!! We played Gullane No. 2, Castle and Jubilee as well. All great, but Crail was the highlight for me for the incredible location and scenery and just the pure fun factor. We got lucky with the weather (as did you it seems), which helped. However, after the opening stretch of holes we expected it to get more “boring” and “standard”, but we just continued to be surprised when we got to every new hole along the way at just how amazing it was! The whole routing is brilliant, such a great layout. Can’t speak highly enough of the place (as you can tell!), one of my favourite all time courses.
It’s a crime that these videos are viewed by so few people. I wish every course had the cookie jar treatment. We would all know more about where we play if they did
This is fantastic! A special place, well captured.
Cheers guys 👊👊 (you got a special shout out in the Brora piece if you haven’t seen that)

Wow! That’s awesome. Yes it’s a very special place I think. Great part of the course to be able to hop the fence on 5 too 🤟
This is the Balcomie Links. The other course, Craighead Links, is equally good.
I'm happy to be a member.
Heard the Balcomie is great. Not played yet - hopefully next time
Really want to play here after watching this 👍👍👍
