An Afternoon at Sunningdale Heath
Some highlights from a wonderful afternoon at Sunningdale Heath. 36 golfers assembled for some drinks, fourball golf with rounds completed in well under 3 hours and the finest bacon sandwich in the business.
Congratulations to Elaine who took the spoils and Peter Handcock as lowest gross with 58. Despite its short length, we firmly believe that Sunningdale Heath offers golfers of all abilities a test and more often than not, requires you to hit far more shots in the bag!

Pennard - Wales Tour 2024
มุมมอง 4.7K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
The final installment from our Welsh Tour in partnership with @FootJoy It’s been a blast visiting some of the best Wales has to offer, and Pennard with the sun poking its head out for the last hole was a fitting ending to a magical trip. Pennard, for those that have not heard anything about it, is one of the lost extraordinary courses you can see. A landscape not dissimilar to the moon. A huge ...
Tenby Golf Club - Wales Tour 2024
มุมมอง 4.3K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
Tenby Golf Club holds a distinctive place in the history of Welsh golf, conceived by the renowned James Braid, a five-time British Open Champion, evolved to feature 18 holes in 1907. It also played a crucial role as a founding member of the Welsh Golfing Union. When we arrived at 11pm to total darkness and saw the recently refurbed accomodation, and all the trappings of luxurious staycations we...
Aberdovey - Wales Tour 2024
มุมมอง 5K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Golf has been played at Aberdovey since 1892 when a rudimentary version of the game was played to flower pots, borrowed from a local house out in the links. One of its then members was none other than Bernard Darwin, the greatest golf correspondant of all time who wrote extensively about the game, and where Aberdovey held a special place in his heart. Borth & Ynyslas - Wales Tour 2024
มุมมอง 3.3K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
This magical club across the estuary from its more famous neighbour - Aberdovey - is often overlooked, but loved by all who visit. Borth is a charming out and back links, a series of holes bisected by the road as you head into the town, with the holes in the dunes out of sight until you turn the corner on the 5th hole, a par 5, at which point they reveal themselves. We loved spending time here,...
Royal St Davids Golf Club - Wales Tour 2024
มุมมอง 5K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Royal St David's - more affectionately known as 'Harlech' - is a truly unique place. Golf has been played here since 1894 when Harold Finch-Hatton was initially using the land to practice his boomerang skills on the links. The club was generally a second club for people heading to the coast, much like Westward Ho! We had a superb time here, having stopped over in town after Welshpool we were on...
Welshpool Golf Club - Wales Tour 2024
มุมมอง 3.6K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
First stop on our travels through Wales is Welshpool just across the border from England, on the rolling hillside above the town. Welshpool was designed by James Braid in 1929 and features some extraordinary views, elevation change and incredibly good value golf. The sort of place we love most of all! Sunningdale Heath were introduced to renowned graffiti artists Troika paint, to explore how they could collaborate to bring something unique to the Golf Club. Sunningdale Heath is always striving to create an inclusive and fun atmosphere at the club, what better way to do this than through art. Fair to say this has never been done at a Golf Club before. I enjoyed this guys thanks, your comments are so true, no silly ponds here.
Who is the guy at 11:42?.... His swing is so pure!
I caddied here in 98/99 with help from locals amazing course, lol exhausted when used to flat carnoustie, so beautiful though proper challenge
Was very privileged to know John back in the day when scottish open came to us sponsored by Daily record I think 95-96,what John did with course was phenomenal very proud to grow up in carnoustie and very proud my family were members at the Caledonian club, great video, miss playing links golf 😢
Great video, always impressed with how fleshed out his first full attempt was
I'm planning a trip to Wales next summer. I played and loved Porth Cawl and Pennard several years ago so I not planning to play those again. At this point, my plan is Tenby, Borth & Ynyslas, Aberdovy, Welshpool, Royal St. David's, Nefyn, Convy. I may have to eliminate one due to time restrictions. In your opinion, which is the weakest? Many thanks. Love your videos.
Not played conwy but it’s a bit more out of the way. I’d add cardigan in and reduce travel time in some way as royal st David’s, Aberdovey, Borth, Welshpool and Tenby all in reasonable proximity if you add cardigan on the way from Aberdovey to Tenby (vice versa)
A golfing Mecca, played regularly when I worked at the St Fergus Terminal, must be on any golfers Bucket List
A crying shame. I only play golf fleetingly but know a whole contingent of London based golfers who no longer play there due to the ‘restoration’. One of them, a keen golf historian, pointed to the fact that Abercrombie was acutely aware that courses have to develop over time to reflect current thinking. In fact, Abercrombie often commented that his designs should, in fact, be rendered a hair redundant (and encouraged the same) with the passage of time. The trees were the charm here. Notwithstanding, this golf society looks fantastic.
very nice report
Great video of this fabulous course.
This channel needs better viewing figures - get some help from a media agency - content is world class
Just been on a trip including Kennemer, Haagsche and staying in Utrecht. Thanks for the fantastic tips and inspiring images that contributed to planning and the trips success! The total trip also included Bernardus (Netherlands), Great Northern (Denmark), Falkenstein and Budersand (both Germany). All great courses. Keep up the good job!
Yeah but they have next to no ‘real’ members and it’s practically impossible to get a game for the average Joe - another corporate golf course 😫
Looking forward to this week, just saying ……
one of the best
A group of Deal members are playing Aiken, Old Barnwell and Tree Farm in a couple of weeks, can’t wait, nice decompress after 3 days at Pine Valley 😉
The clubs are doing a Hagen Hoof day for visitors in 2025 a unique opportunity to play three Open venues in one day. The 17th gets a bad wrap as there is a large dune in the centre of the landing zone. My caddie tip - if you don’t want to risk a penal bounce, treat it as a hazard and play short or try and carry the dune.
Thanks J, have a great week and thank you very much for a lovely evening, now safely home
The commentary that accompanies these videos is exceptional story telling. 👍🏼
I played this course on Friday for the first time, it is absolutely beautiful. Not a single boring hole!
Music is too loud and overly dramatic. product placement is distracting and too obvious.
Thank Oliver! 👍 older film, something we were happy with at the time, but appreciate the feedback.
One of the best made videos about, to me , Heaven on Earth for golf.
Hi Michael, really appreciate it and glad you enjoy it
Played there a fortnight ago. Very penal in places but I absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to go back later in the year. It’s a ‘must play’ in Wales. 👏🏼
Unique, quirky and quality as well!
The drone footage is phenomenal!!
Thanks Asad!
Just won our golf event on the Blue to qualify for 2025 finals day. Can’t tell you how beautiful this course is and the members I have met have been absolute gems. Love this place! ❤
I was a member here about 30 years ago when it was overgrown and controlled by an old lady called Moira Fabes. I have to say the the restoration is looking incredible. It was long, long overdue. Congratulations to all concerned.
Thanks Jason, we recently did a 2-part podcast with the current boss (Ryan) and the journey they are on. You’ll Enjoy it I suspect
@@CookieJarGolf I had a listen and did really enjoy it. Ryan is very impressive. When I was a member the club felt frozen in time. It was eccentric and unique and some people loved it that way but a lot of people regretted the neglect of the course. Ryan is a real breath of fresh air.
I love you videos but RCD is to me the most over rated golf course on the planet. No idea how it is ranked so high???
And you didn’t play Aberystwyth GC !!!?.
You videos are brilliant.
Played it about 20 years ago. Must revisit it as it’s less than an hour away for me.
Looks like a good track but kinda tired of all these new courses being built that are $400 to play.
Dornoch is on a very short list of "if I had to play one course the rest of my life"
Your videos are great! Keep them coming......
As a past member, i love Welshpool. But some local people don't enjoy it because it's too hilly.
Looks like a day out 🍻
Loving this sort of content lads.
Great to see Camden being the beer of choice 🙌
😂 Dave's drop kick
Played with a member during Open week and he had a great philosophy for a lifetime of golf at Gullane: “When you are a child you start on No. 3 and then graduate to 2 and finally onto No. 1.” “Then as you get older and No. 1 is too much, you go back to No. 2 and eventually back to No. 3.”
I’m 5 min away from the course 😊
This course looks absolutely fun to play. Nice film!
Really fancy a trip down to wales, looks amazing. Just played Dumbarnie yesterday, best overall experience of hospitality I’ve had in years and a stunning track too,if you haven’t played already then you need to get it booked.
Played it years ago. Truly impressive.
How do you get involved in these events?
They tend to be announced on our mailing list or social media.
@@CookieJarGolf Ill keep my eye out, thanks :)
Par 68 at 6300? Tough test.
Absolutely, it’s a brutal stretch coming home
@@CookieJarGolf Yes certainly looks it. Proper old fashioned links.
This course is used as a qualifying venue for the Open Championship. Today, 19th July 2024, the leader of the Open Championship, qualified for the competition by winning on West Lancs. Dan Brown is the clubhouse leader after 18 holes. West Lancs, is still shaping the game, even after all these years.
FQ this year was fantastic! Love West Lancs
I'd rather play North Berwick...
Brilliant behind the scenes film…
Thanks Antony
When are you guys going to complete to Tom Morris trail? Just ticked off machrihanish and it’s a stunning course in a brilliant part of the world. Definitely straight in to my top 5
We played Mach last summer! It’s sensational. It’s the quest that continues to see them all sadly
Fantastic golf course, play it regularly, it you haven't, you are missing out on a great golf experience
Agree! Fabulous place
