@@IWantToBeInOVO I live in San Antonio and all the locations closed here. Unfortunately, Barbara Corcoran's concerns held validity. Though Project Pollo experienced rapid growth before appearing on "Shark Tank," it wasn't sustainable, and several locations ultimately had to close. In a March 10 Instagram post, Lucas Bradbury shared that he planned to keep growing the company, "but only when leadership and market are ready." It seems that Bradbury's dream of serving exclusively plant-based meat alternatives wasn't fully sustainable, either; he launched Side Chicks, which serves real chicken versions of Project Pollo's food, in February 2023.
Actually, the reason why so many locations closed is cause they were working on selling the entire company, which they eventually did in April. That's the one thing that I don't like about this show. But sometimes they don't even bother, they're just like "too high, I'm out".
Update on the company. All locations are closed and they instead invested in a Savvy Sliders to take over one of the locations. All the other locations are abandoned/closed
Probably a VC with too much money. Everyone has different views on valuation and the previous investor probably saw more from Vegan / Plant based foods. The sharks were more realistic about its prospect and they were right given the business mostly failed.
