Price action describes the characteristics of a security’s price movements. This movement is quite often analyzed with respect to price changes in the recent past. In simple terms, price action is a trading technique that allows a trader to read the market and make subjective trading decisions based on the recent and actual price movements, rather than relying solely on technical indicators.
The only people who know where the market is heading are institutions. They are the ones who make the market move and our job as retail traders is to follow their footsteps and get the piece of their movement. As price action traders we need to find the most profitable ways to enter trades. The highest probability setups are 2nd entries, its variations and confirmations setups at the key entry points.
Congratulations on 100k subs! You have been doing great work for years! 🎉😊
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Is it just me? I can't see your EMA line
Update: tried on a different display and I can see it....VERY faint though
Thanks for your analysis, Thomas. My bars formed very different than yours no matter how many times I reloaded my data. Usually it's very consistent. Weird, oh well.
Good 👍
Thanks Thomas! Congrats on 100K subs!
Congratulations 100k subscribers 🎉
Hi everyone! I have a question about navigating through candlesticks during playback. I've noticed that Thomas can move back and forth through the candlesticks, seemingly by clicking the mouse or using some other method. How does he do that? Any tips or shortcuts would be appreciated!
Indicator I use is not for sale yet.
You can right click on a chart, select properties and adjust right side margin.
Congrats on the 100k 🎉
At 11:10 - valuable nugget of info about expanding the range since the idea of an overshoot was canceled by the failure to reach top of channel and instead dropping lower. I was in a short at the time expecting another sweep of the bottom of the range (5530-5540) and I braced myself when I saw a possible overshoot forming...luckily I didn't trail my stop too close, so I caught the full sweep down to my TP at 5527
Thank you Thomas, I got incredibly chopped up in todays session and found it really hard to find winning setups. I took quite a large loss on the day overall. Many second entries but with lack of clear context I was on the wrong side of the market time and time again. Definitely one of the hardest trading days I have had personally. I will come back stronger next week. Thanks again!
I hope you will get your goals soon my guy, stay safe
Hey Ben Morgan!
As a general rule of thumb you really shouldn't be hunting 2E's with range trending. It's possible a good one sets up - but you should be hunting HL's off the range bottom and LH's off the range top.
Sometimes it's better to just turn the computer off and walk away from bad sessions. A good example would be a rangebound day that won't even hold consistent edges. Total mess.
@@StijnPonjee Thank you brother
@@Chris-zv6yv Very useful information thank you Chris. I find trading ranges the hardest to trade for sure and in recent weeks many days have not had clear trends, instead ranges like Friday. Today I am reviewing my trades and the market as a whole to try and figure out where I went wrong, I will use these HL and LH's to see where I could possibly get in to the market in the future. Thank you again Chris!
@@Chris-zv6yv Absolutely correct about hunting HLs.
Let me add, that a range is a range until it's proven not to be. Al Brooks: 80% of breakout attempts fail (aka fakeouts). So once you recognize an established range, you can pretty confidently pick tops/bottoms.
Like !
Thank you Thomas and congratulations!
Congrats on hitting 100k !
Thomas, is there a video on how to behave at different signal and trigger bars and placing limit/ stop orders ? could you make a video like that ?
Also, should I enter the trade as soon as trigger bar goes 1 tick above signal bar, or wait for the trigger bar to print ?
@@olaffdb You want signal bar to trigger and then you can enter. You don't need to wait for the triggering bar to finish.
but what if it turns out to be failed second entry ? should I „predict” it could fail straight from the market context ?
Thank you
I Took F2EL + confirmation bar at 12:50 get 8 ticks 3 contracts, thanks Thomas for this channel
Do you have a video on how to draw channels?
This video could help a little

@@ThomasWadeThank you
Thanks. My chart often looks slightly different to yours. Do you use Standard NinjaTrader data or another provider?
If you reload your data the bars can look different than it looked when your watching it life, big change that’s why your chart looks “different”
put 21 days with CME US INDEX FUTURES ETH in data and reload the data at the beginning of the day
