  • I shot a video to remember what they tell you at the walkthrough or delivery of the motorcycle. I'm usually too excited to remember any of it. I just hear blah blah blah haha.I figured this happens to others too. Hopefully someone else finds this useful.

    That's the most knowledgeable salesperson I've ever seen. I have an F 850 GS and I just learned so many little bits, like twisting forward on the throttle to cancel cruise control. Thanks for sharing, congrats on the bike, and I hope you give Ian and Harrison Eurosports more business in the future.

    19:44 It doesnt fail because usually, there are two potentiometres involved which validate each others position. So if one fails, the electronic can detect it and alert you about it. It will rely on the other sensor, but you should repair it asap.

    Congrats on the new bike. I have a 2019 model, which was a demo that i got last year. They're probably better off not talking about the display info, as after a while it goes in one ear and out the other. I'm an older guy and i do find it a heavy bike, so I really don't hit the single track very much, more like fire and gravel roads. It's a brute to pick up and have had back problems in the past. That being it said it's comfortable, fast and responsive and I expect the electronics have stopped me from wiping out. I leave it in dynamic or enduro pro mode. I use my phone and together with the Mottorad App can get the map on the phone and the turn by turn instructions on the TFT. No problem with the Samsung I have and there's been no over heating with it. Having the nav bracket attached to the handle bar mount is ridiculous and i would advise you to get an accessory bracket which relocates it above the TFT, that way you keep your eyes on the road. The windscreen is also pitiful and if doing any touring you'll need something with more protection. One thing fore the Triumph (jamtub), the quick shifter works a hell of a lot better; I find on this bike it's very clunky and only use it on high rev up shifts, where as the Triumph was a lot smoother in operation. I think the 850 Adventure would be too heavy with the bigger tank and I just carry a fuel bladder for out of the way trips. I'm waffling on, enjoy your new bike and ride safe. Will check out your other vids. Thanks from Canada.

      @iAmMarchal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      David!! That was the most informative post in short form I’ve seen in a while. Thank you for that wealth of knowledge. I’m finding all the things you are mentioning to be true. The Nav is definitely in a poor location. I find myself looking down away from the road. Seems unsafe.
      I should have taken time to sit on the triumph at least I wanted to but was in a hurry when I picked up. And everyone just loves these GS’s so much seemed like the standard.
      I don’t intend on single tracking either. Just same situations as you. An emergency bike of sorts on the back of an RV. And small rides here and there. Thanks again!!

      Xcgates I know right! Seems you skip even a year model of a vehicle and the next time you go to buy the car you need a pilots license lol. Tons of doohickeys on this bike for sure.

    • @TheJAMTUB
      @TheJAMTUB 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@iAmMarchal I never had a GSA. I owned a yamaha Super Tenere. Awesome bike and very, very reliable. But also very heavy. That's the only reason I changed bike. I was never interested in the GSA as I wanted to go as light as I could so going from The S Tenere to a GSA didn't make sense. The 850 we have is great. I know it's 14 litres of fuel only but t's super economical and good for over 350 Kms per tank full. I ride in Europe where there ar gas stations on every corner so no issues. I don't need 23 ltrs of fuel. No point. The bike rides like a dream. I had a Triumph tiger 900 Rally Pro for around 8 months. I had an accident with that and claimed it on insurance. That led me to the 850Rallye, which I like better. In every way. And that's really saying something... The triumph was amazing. I think the GS is just a bit better everywere.
