I own almost a dozen Fiskar products. Never had a problem with any of them, great products. As a matter of fact, I just bought the Fiskars X7 Hatchet and two Fiskars Log Tongs. They were on sale, I couldn't let that pass. You all understand right? It's not a problem, I can stop at any time.

It's been awhile. Glad to see you're still starring in the Hollywood style videos! - I love the Fiskars products, but I have a loyalty for Plumb axes. Dad bought me one in grade school, then gave me the job of clearing 55A field with it. Which I did,... thru middle school, high school, some college, couple years after military...almost got it now. That axe is now 67 yrs old, indestructible. A little maintenance...replaced the head twice and the handle five times. It just goes on and on! I'd be an ungrateful "son" to change brands now!! I hope you understand. Keep up the good work. My own motto is 'be like a Boy Scout, do at least one good deed everyday'.

Another great one Tony ! I prefer the 25 over the 27, mainly because I like to split on a chopping block. Being tall, it is the perfect length when the round is elevated and doesn’t require the heavier and longer 27, IMHO. But I’m sure that is why they make so many different designs. I think I might grab an X-11 for wedges …..might prefer that over the 25 I normally use. Thanks for all the great info 🪓👍👏🇺🇸 Rick

Hey cool dude. I think you'll find that the black Fiskars axes (or A-series) are identical to orange-handled X-series models in length, head size, and design, but the differences are a black coating on the head , and lack of rubber orange over-mold handle which is the vibration reduction.
A little cheaper therefore for the black axe. Keep up the good work old fella! 🇬🇧

Laurence, it seems you know the Fiskars numbering system. Internally At Fiskars the Black handle was called the A series but when you go to the store you only have a part number 375841-1001 and referred to as super split.
The Orange and black was referred to as the X series as well X27 and is a two piece handle but the reality is it’s a one piece handle with two colors. You’re right there is a slightly different texture on both handles.

I'm wanting to get a tool that, once my tree is down, I can run up and down the trunk taking the smaller branches off (1-2" branches) so I don't have to keep doing it with the chainsaw.

@@TonysCoolTools@TonysCoolTools I'm used to The Woodsman's Pal with a pull cutting brush hook/ sapling hook, branch hook because sometimes it's better to do a pull cut...So intended or not a perpendicular blade to the main blade can be good for pull cutting and I'm not talking about grass or small weeds and scythes or
sickles I'm talking about pull cutting small branches and small trees, whippersnappers.
So intended or not the long brush axe looks like it could do this natively or with some sharpening/grinding.
I cut things by pull cutting all the time because it's often safer than swinging cuts or just better... Fiskars with the blade style of the long one could complete with The Woodman's Pal (still issued by the U.S. military by the way) and I think they should!
      So worth considering...
Anyone clearing land with small trees, whippersnappers is going to realize that it's more efficient to do pull cuts over chopping at ground level, hitting dirt and rocks and dulling if m t chipping the blade. Removing brush and small trees on the side of a fence or structure, again pull cutting is better.
The hook of The Woodsman's Pal is there for a reason and there's no reason for Fiskars to not compete on that front.
The option of pull cutting isn't some picayune point...
It's just my opinion based on some experience with various tools so it's an opinion but you should maybe consider it...
I personally as a consumer would only but the newer blade style of the long brush axe which they also make in a shorter length now.
If I can't get a pull cut capability I wouldn't buy the tool...
So thanks for the video and the response...

Hi all amd greetings from Australia.
have had a ln X7 hatchet for many years. time for a moderate upgrade to make things easier.
I've been interested in an X24M which is a medium sized splitter at 60cm long but I've come across a beautiful looking model on Amazon. it has no number but its described as a 28inch handle. it seems its designed for chopping but I think with the long handle it will also split well compared to the x7. im not intending to split large logs with it.

Question: I know this isn't a Fiskars question but a Gerber question, nor a "ax' question. Do you know or know someone to contact about the fake Gerber Strongarm knives sold on Temu & AliExpress? They look 98.8% like the real Gerber Strongarm and are just as tough as the real knife. Real Strongarm knives are $90 (Made in Portland) and the fakes are $10.50 to $16.00 How can China make near as good, look the same, molded handles, same blades or pretty close? IMO they are the best value in a fixed blade knife for bushcraft, hunting, survival, tactical. I have 1 real Strongarm knife and 7 fakes (different colors) plus 4 fake Gerber Prodigy knives. 2 have the Gerber name/serial number on them and the rest don't. They look identical, some people think they are seconds, they look that similar. There has to be some story to them. Thought I'd ask.
