It was mentioned that the GM has been around since the year 2000 (22 years). That is also the last time the Dolphins have won a Playoff Game. Getting fired from the Dolphins is probably the best thing to happen to Brian Flores. He should get another job either this off-season or next.

Miami did the right thing. Only people who are clueless are questioning the decision.
    1. Flores couldn’t hire a competent coaching staff
    2. Flores was not supportive of Tua
    3. Poor coaching led to a 1-7 start
    4. Flores was in charge of the 53 man roster, it was his decision to get rid of Karras and Flowers and start Jesse Davis and Austin Jackson. Also his decision to get rid of Van Noy.
    5. Bad game day decisions to constantly have 2 of their better pass catchers on the sideline (Gesicki and Hollins). In a must win road game vs Tenn in bad weather he had Tua throw instead of hand it off to Duke who was having a good game.
In the end, the biggest issues were his inability to have a competent staff and the push by him for Grier to get rid of Tua and trade for Watson who neither Ross nor Grier wanted.

After the 1-7 start, sure, it looked like he was heading for a justifiable firing. But then turning around and winning 8 of 9 is incredibly impressive no matter who you play. That the team didn't just give up and pack it in at 1-7 is a testament to him as a coach. They won all 8 games by at least a touchdown.
Zac Taylor was 6-25-1 after two seasons and Kyle Shanahan was 10-22. Being too trigger happy with coaches is a great way to stay in the basement, even when you might be close to climbing out of it.

He's more than welcome back at my pat's. I was t happy with Matt coming back but Flores I'd take back. I doubt he'll have an issue getting a new HC job.

Being a black coach not named Tomlin has been a tough business as of late… Flores’ name was coming up in coach of the year talks just a few weeks ago… hope he’s stays clear of New York… those squads don’t deserve him, Giants or Jets.
