For anyone curious, "te" is "you" in Italian
Yeah the phrase is "today for me, tomorrow for... you"
It can be either “te”, or “tu”. It depends.
I kinda figured as much because "te" is the informal you form of a direct object in Spanish and since they're both Latin languages, I figured it was pretty similar.
It's a subtle difference cause in italian we have two terms, "me and you" translates to "me e te" while "I and you" translates to "io e tu".

The problem with this stance is that... per definition, using glitches, any exploits, etc. is cheating
But...! What any% speedruns really represent is a collection of people who agree "by any means necessary" (of course actual cheating like splicing, etc. isn't the type of means I am referencing)
So... yes, it is a speedrun in who can cheat the game fastest to get the fastest possible time - you cheat the game, not other people is my point
So... honestly, I don't think you have met folks who prefer to see games be played optimally as the developers "intended" to be played. Sounds like you have met a bunch of folks who doesn't understand that different categorises of speedrunning exists and then make a bunch of claims like those who claim that TAS runs is "cheating" (once again this gets confusing since both uses the term cheating but here i mean folks who want to put a blanket statement in regards to all TAS runs and equate them to splicing, etc.)
So... yah'.
sometimes I lack the attention span to watch full speedruns (thanks ADHD) so watching a sorta highlight video like this is awesome!
this run was absolutely amazing, I love seeing what you can pull off even without glitches, every time I pick up Wind Waker again I think about you

I have found in other areas, though, too, that playing Breath of the Wild has changed some of the way I go back to older Zelda games. Like, after playing Botw, I've found myself using bombs in combat a lot more.
Mario Odyssey did that to me, too. When I went back to Mario 64, I found myself using the dive a lot more.

I'm surprised Makar warping is considered 'glitchless.' Yes, it's an odd combination of things to do, but so is itemsliding...
It's less a glitch and more a oversight, like they didn't expect that the mechanic for making them follow properly through doors being that strong in a specific situation.
But item sliding is unintentional glitch, because it's abusing a feature not meant for that purpose by the developers.
There is a fine line between a glitch or a oversight, like cubes and rectangle.
But i may be talking out of my ass idk.

Makar is an oversight because it's using the intended tool in an unintended way but item sliding is a glitch because it's using an unintended tool in an unintended way. Makar uses the tool for its purpose, just not where they thought you would use it. Item slides are separate from that

I'm not one of those anti-glitchers but that trick with Makar in the jail cell seems too much like a glitch for a glitchless run.

kind of surprised the helmroc skip is allowed in glitchless
pretty sure it's not official glitchless, pretty sure bomb boosting with a jumpslash to skip areas of the game wasn't intended by the developers. But maybe it's not a glitch because it's not bugged but logical, it's been like 12 years since I thought about what makes a glitch a glitch
You cant logically ban helmaroc skip without banning all bomb boosts. Concise glitchless rules only ban mechanics, not consequences of mechanics.
@@Tekape bomb boosting was 100% intended. however using as they do in speedruns may not have been, but the tech itself is so its allowed
@@tr0gd0r0090 Glitches are unintendend tools used for unintended ways. Exploit is using an intended tool for an unintended way. Bomb Boost is more of an exploit than a glitch.
It's about the result of some mechanics/features being logical/expected. Combining bomb boost with jump slash has an expected outcome (more distance), while results like item sliding or super swimming don't make sense in terms of just combining other game mechanics.

In terms of skill glitch less really tests how well you know the game and how to exploit mechanics that don't break the game or skip major chunks of the game like other catagories. The thing is though that some of the glitches for any% rely on frame perfect bullshit and luck to a degree that it's amazing on its own merit but I can understand why people think it's pretty boring to watch someone skip the entire game and not having it be a real victory.

Nice - I'm not a purist or anything, but it is really cool to see a Wind Waker speedrun where a lot of the game can still be appreciated. Nothing against speedruns that "break the game," but it is fun to see something like this

The sail pings aren't that bad because they're rhythmical. If you were pressing them irregularly that'd be truly awful
Without the fact that glitches used to be banned and the fact that someone decided "fuck these rules, they are dipshit", this video wouldn't have been made.
As an audience member (i.e. someone who basically only watches speedruns once or twice per year at big events like GDQ, as entertainment) I think I prefer watching 'glitchless / no major skip' speedruns, because it's easier to follow along with games I've never played before. I usually only find any% enjoyable to watch for games that I've played and am familiar with, or have already seen a glitchless run of, so that I can laugh at how badly broken they really are. But even then, I think I find glitchless more interesting because I can imagine myself doing them; wheras doing crazy glitches and stunts just kinda goes over my head! That said, it also depends on the game.

I'm not the type to ever complain about glitches in a speedrun, but I really fail to see how leaf pumping is allowed in a glitchless category. There's no way you can argue Nintendo intended for you to put away the leaf and then take it out a frame later to gain height, therefore it's a glitch.

@@bruceU We are going fast in Glitchless, we're playing the game without using item sliding and super swimming. That's in my opinion more interesting to watch and easier to follow for casuals.
We're basically beating the game with the intended route and mechanics, but we're also using a couple of more difficult tricks to make the run just a bit more interesting. If you'd get rid of those tiny skips (Helmaroc skip, Tower of The Gods skip, early makar, etc...) the run would be only about 20 minutes slower but way less interesting.

10:40 Why this glitch is not considered as a glitch ?
It may look like a glitch but you're technically not going out of bounds and you're not using any unintended mechanics. You're just performing a well timed bomb boost to boost yourself over the spikes which skips Helmaroc King and saves about 3 minutes if you get it first try but can lose a ton of time if you fail it. But just because it's allowed doesn't mean it's easy, it's the most difficult trick in the run and it takes a lot of practice to get consistently. There are also only 5 people who use this skip because of the difficulty, so it's definitely not necessary to use it.

Glitchless is such a joke. With glitchless, people expect to see games be beaten the way the developers intended it. Using invincibility frames to stand on damaging spikes in order to position yourself for a bomb boost to another set of spikes cannot be called intended. I have trouble even calling it glitchless as defined by your parameters.
That said, I do like glitches, and I do like any% speedruns. It's just the 'glitchless' catagory that's a joke to me.
I said the same thing to myself when listening to Linkus' explanation in the beginning...makes no sense to me how a bomb boost is an intended mechanic. Sequence breaking imo is considered a glitch so...
You can technically still run the glitchless category without using bomb boosts or small skips, but the run would be a lot more boring to perform and to watch from a viewer's perspective. If we would add another category to the leaderboards called Skipless, it would only be about 15 to 20 minutes slower and would be a lot less interesting

Judging from the amount of people who dislike this run being called glitchless, I'd say there is a market for doing speedruns where players beat the game the way the developers intended their games to be beaten. Might want to give that category a more appealing name too, like indended% instead of noskip%
I'm glad you decided to do glitchless.. to me it's literally the only speedrunning that matters.. anyone who says they "beat" these games by doing everything with glitches is well.. a liar.. they did NOT beat the game and shouldn't count.. there's nothing impressive about glitching a game.. hell even Ruth Vader Ginsburg could do that
