I have applied exactly the same method in my NQ strategies in Multicharts. I overlapped the equity curve on different RSIs and EMAs and similar indicators in order to stop and resume the strategy according to my settings and I ran them through a backtester and optimizer.... Unfortunately these actions didn't give me any certainty that this approach makes sense. Sometimes it cutts drawdowns much more effectively but it didn't give better results in my equity curve performance. Spent hundreds of my working hours and thousands of USD to create this algorithm but it didn't work. Unfortunately....
Hey buddy, that's the reality unfortunately. Trading is much tougher than it's often portrayed online. I respect your effort. Let's keep grinding and making progress. Cheers!
i personally dont apply equity curve trading to my systems. however, if i tested a system and produced an equity curve like the one you initially displayed where its stagnant/DD for 4-5 years, i would trash it. are those the equity curves youre working with? we still have monte carlo test, but i doubt those meet anyones metrics.

Same Story for me! Expect I didn't spend thousands of USD.
@@alipeikani3278 Part of making progress is figuring out what doesn't work :)
Thank you for your thoughts.

Nope, I picked it for illustration purposes only. But even for better strategies, EC trading rarely seems to work. Just my experience thus far.
