not sure you are still using this spreadsheet but if i change the capital risked from 30% to only 10% the risk of ruin goes up from 0.30% to 15%. Surely it should be the other way around. Risking less capital reduces the risk of ruin.

Good Day, I seen many of your video. and try out trading...yet to be consistently profitable. Can a simple strategy like using SMA produce consistent profitable trading? After using many indicators. I decided to use simple indicators like SMA 12, SMA 200 for my trading. Still in the process of sorting it out to become profitable consistent. i using 1m chart for trading. though I still switch to 30m, 4H and Daily. to determine the market direction. why SMA 12 and SMA 200. if the price is above SMA 12, the price may likely to to uptrend, like wise for below SMA 12, down trend. and the SMA 200 is a guide for me without switching to higher timeframe, the trend direction at 30m. as SMA 200 is approximately equals to SMA 6 at 30m chart. ...... because I yet to be profitable in trading..i am not sure if using SMA indicators can be profitable or not. Though I believe the concept and idea to be sound and in line with price action and trading principle. mind share with me your thoughts and advice on the above?

my experiences with 23 kama on 1 min chart are very promising. my question: i cant find the right adjustment for when i want to see the 23kama from the 5 min chart on the 1 min chart. i tried, 115/2/150, 115/10/150 and 115/2/30 but it seems to be wrong

i have had the same idea to do more realistic Backtests and i did it on python(Using the MT5 Api) but the problem i had was that if i let my laptop on all day at certain point it didn't record the spreads. so i tried doing it with a custom function from that library (mt.copy_ticks range) basically it gives you the bid and ask historical data of each tick and comparing the average spread from the Hours i could record the successfully in live they where almost the same. So if someone doesn't want to let the Pc on all Day long i really recommend using the function mention before. Great video as always

Hi Thank you for your excellent videos - I've learned a lot from you. I have a question regarding forex trading: I develop my trading bots using Strategy Quant software. I have a seasonal strategy that enters and exits at specific dates, which constitutes one trade. However, when I add a filter like RSI within the same time period (approximately two months), the number of trades increases to about 70-100 trades. For money management in Strategy Quant, I use "risked % of balance." Here's where I face a challenge: If a strategy performs poorly, it keeps taking a predefined percentage of my balance for each new trade, closing with losses, and this cycle keeps repeating. I would greatly appreciate if you could suggest any solutions to address this issue. Many thanks.

Since strategies are usually dependent on price action to some degree though, I'm not sure that I understand what "randomizing the trades" means, I could understand producing multiple random chart plots and applying the proposed strategy to each one, but "randomizing trades"?

"You need an edge, of course, meaning you have a higher probability of making a profit over a series of trades. That's a whole new discussion for another day ...." Sounds like a great idea for a future video if you ask me.

I think predications work better if you have a lot of tested rules with multi-timeframe analysis. But if you are a pro or very good with spotting any and all rules in realtime without being emotional then reacting will work just as well.

Thank you for this great video! After watching your video I went to MT5 and realized when you run a backtest on any symbol, the engine calculates the swaps according to their current values. Because even with the custom symbols there's no way to add historical swap rates! This can affect the historical performance of the strategies, making them look better on one side (longs or shorts). What are your thoughts on this?
