- The Supreme Court has put an end to the territorial dispute between Makati and Taguig. The EMBO barangays-Pembo, Comembo, Cembo, South Cembo, West Rembo, East Rembo, Pitogo, and Rizal are now part of Taguig, not Makati.
Now, what happens to the residents of EMBO? In this episode of #LookThrough, INQUIRER.net visits former Makatizens to ask them how the transfer to a different city affects their daily lives.

Makati must demolished OSMAK and UMAK if SC decalres that those facilities belongs to taguig. Let taguig build their own education and health care facilities.

well corruptions will remains who ever sits in power, MAKATI netizens gets the Lions shares, free Hospitalizations, free education, this two alone have a great impact to MAKATI Netizens that none of any cities in the Philippines can give to its constituents plus Christmas gifts, Senior Citizens benefits. @@sammy_trix Taguig has it, but its not the same nor on-par in terms of quality and quantity. The quality of service and governance cannot be matched by taguig, just accept it. I have a lot of friends from taguig, I even spoke to one of the teachers from taguig and said that the Makati City's approach is better ang holistic than taguig.

It's over. Taguig has won. The Supreme Court has given its final orders that are final and executory. Taguig and Pateros are inseparable, but Taguig is a City and even they govern Pateros as a municipality.

The SC only wants to make it fair, but you can't remove the fact that Pateros has no solid evidence because the Americans leased those lands known back then as Fort McKinley, now includes the Embos, the Fort Bonifacio and BGC. Pateros only joined this turf war recently, but the ongoing battles have been Taguig and Makati for decades.
@@sammy_trix Also if you look back at the history of Taguig. Taguig really owns that land. Before the merging of Pateros, Taguig and Muntinlupa it stated in history that those large parcels of land were bought by the American govt to Taguig. TCT dated 1902. Pateros are just chasing the wind and for the sake of fairness, SC just wants to see what documents Pateros has.

We are the pioneer residents of Comembo, Makati City. Since the 50s after the war, Fort Bonifacio has been and historically seen as Makati, though shared with jurisdiction between Pateros, Pasig, Taguig and Pasay. Spanish mapping will not allow Taguig to have such A LARGE boundary!

Documentary came from U.S archives. Those parcels of land were bought by US to Taguig TCT dated 1902 before it was turned as a military base. Bakit pala natalo Makati sa kaso syempre nag pagawa lang ng sariling mapa base sa isang engineer na hire ng Makati lgu 😅 At take note walang banggit ng Makati si dating pres Carlos P. Garcia kung nasaan ang boundaries ng Fort Bonifacio. Nag papatawa ata kayo.

Makati or Taguig resident, as long as you are allowed to continue to own and stay on your property, should not be a big issue. Thousands of families move to different cities or provinces without any issues. Just accept the changes and move on.
While that may be, there will inevitably be an economic impact on the two cities, and in turn, could potentially spill over to the residents as a trickle-down. It's not a case of moving that's difficult for them to accept, but rather there is a lack of assurance on how the Taguig government is expected to handle the new citizens. Loss of healthcare, government support, and even subsidies may be lost or may have their processes further changed, which could not only complicate things for the moving families but also prevent them entirely from receiving access to these things.
It's not only about how the family feels, but rather, they don't get much of a choice, and instead NEED to look at things pragmatically. They're assessing if the economic benefits Makati already provides them can be provided by Taguig, and if not, what would be the opportunity trade-off between the two.

@Cutie-wk2xx There's no such proclamation of Marcos that Pateros is included. SC just wants to hear Pateros for the sake of fairness and that is final and executory for Taguig. Read the 53 page SC ruling.
@Cutie-wk2xx you don't know everything dude. My mom was there when Freddie Tiñga was creating a masterplan to build BGC. Over 22 countries signed an agreement to invest and build BGC. That is why a lot of embassies put their headquarters in BGC. It's by foreign funds FYI not ph money. Tiñga makes it possible.

Dante Tiñga is the author of BCDA law that handles BGC now. They are the one who hired an urban planner for BGC. I am one of the witness for that project. Pateros is just a wannabe and delusional.

Makati must build a new OSMAK and UMAK near Ayala ave or any part of makati but not on the EMBO. Makati must also removed all educational and healthcare equipment inside OSMAK and UMAK if SC declare that those premises belongs to taguig.

Mismong 2 tao from LRA nag patunay na sa Taguig ang Embo particularly the whole Fort Bonifacio parcels 3 and 4.
