TEACHING BIG BOY HOW TO 720!

- Today we decided to go to my skate park on a secret mission to teach big boy how to do a 720 spin on his bike! Big boy is really good at flairs but when it comes to doing spin he's not so lucky. Ever since he lost the sketchy game of bike I felt that he got robbed by poor judging when Kyle did the 720 of the step up and he crashed into the railing but the judges still said it counted. So I figured that we would teach them how to 720 and then big boy can challenge Kyle to another game of bike and unleash the 720 on his own! Today I had the 900,000 subscribers challenge champion Jared come and teach him! We started out in the foam pit and big boy started making progress and finally landed a 720 in there. In normal big boy fashion he decided it was already time to take it to the real ramp and he tried 720s until he crashed pretty hard on the ramp! Big boy was very frustrated but he kept going until we told him that he wasn't allowed to do anymore. Sometimes BMX tricks take longer than one session to learn and the 720 was a perfect example but I do believe the big boy will land the trick and challenge Kyle to another sketchy game of bike!

he will ride again he just needs that time too heal and re-gain all the normal things we can do day to day first,, and once he can we will start to see little video`s going up of him just doing normal riding and so on and we he knows he can start doing those tricks again we will see him come back strong..

91maluguy if you've ever used the foam pit you know it's very different and not for everyone I agree it can help but if he doesn't feel like it will help then it won't

He's focussed so much on the landing part when he goes to wood he completely forgets what he learned in the foam pit and immediately goes back what feels "natural". I have the same issue in skiing. You just need to focus on spinning and the landing will come on its own. Its a lot easier to spin a perfect 720 in when you don't have a hard wood landing to worry about.

The actual physics concept that scotty is talking about when he tells sketchy big boy to straighten his body is called moment of inertia, just thought id put that out there. if u bring your bike as close to ur body as possible during the rotation that will decrease your moment of inertia resulting in an increased rotational velocity regardless of how fast u started the rotation.
He landed it then hit the fence and that's something that's sketchy

Bigboy you killed that! Try some spins on your skates to practice, they are aggressive so probably anti-rocker frames and feel super flat. Try some flatland spins, 180 360 and maybe a 540. Get used to that feeling. ;)

*HELP* so so like 2 months ago i was landing 360s out of fly out untill 1 night i sprained my ankle (because my back wheel cliped). ive landed maybe 2 sence then. I WAS consistant. now i have a problem with spinning! everyone tells me to carve, and turn the wheel before u come out. some say to dont carve at all because it will throw u off axis!.. if i am trying to do it, its for that reason, im way off axis. PLEASE HELP im also landing back tire everytime when i WAS doing them
best trick analogue I've ever heard...when you now the 720 favourite colour and how many brothers and sisters it's got... actually cried laughing, Scotty your the man.
It does equate to that Scotty man, it's like saying "If gravity was like it is on the moon, I would have totally landed that!". Fence or no fence, a trick is complete when you roll away, ready to do your next trick. That's what you've always maintained as a standard for not only yourself, but Big Boy too- which is why he has progressed so much! it's awesome how far he has come.
Let's put it this way, the way to think about that 720 situation was- would a judge at the X-Games have counted that trick? I know people ride for fun, but you gotta be the best you can be in life! Kyle didn't think it counted at all, he sounded like he felt pretty crap about it if you ask me but the judges had spoken!
That's just my 2 cents though, each to their own. :-)
Crazy. Hopefully one day I could learn 540 or 720. I have always had to learn everything on concrete so everything is harder to commit to. I did try a 540 once but my back wheel got stuck on the coping but I bailed off. Still need to learn barspins and whips though. I have everything down on the barspin apart from commiting to the trick.
