    Another great episode, I will be heading to Santiago later in the year, so a nice little insight, last year we went to ponferrada and the stunning town of Lugo, which is possibly my favourite town in Spain, and like you guys saw plenty of pilgrims along route, stunning riding roads especially on the little B roads, the food a the petrol stations tends to be really good, likewise in France

      Thanks Peter! You’re absolutely right about the brilliant roads and the petrol stations are so much better than the UK! 😀👍

    Another excellent series. Love your content. It’s nice to see people ‘of a certain age’, which I include myself in, having an absolute whale of a time touring on bikes. Nice mix of scenery, commentary and historical facts on the places you visit. Please continue to do what you do 😃

    Enjoyed that thanks, especially like the off bike stuff around the city. Did Santiago back in 2014, fascinating place. Coincidentally I have the same Shoei Neotec helmet and Rukka gear 👍👍👍👍

      Banditmanuk Thanks very much! We loved the place too it’s got a good vibe 😀 I also think its important to get plenty of footage off the bike too 👍. The Shoei helmets are the best we’ve ever used by a mile! 👍👍

    Hope you managed to walk off all the beer and tapas!!! Hotels look nice, bit above my purse though!!

      Adrian Nicholson Thanks Adrian! Sadly didn’t walk it off enough! 😩 The hotel in Astorga was actually quite reasonable- the Santiago hotel was pricey but its good now and again to get pampered 😀 - all my Pan American trip was cheap and basic 😫.

    Good gastronomic and cultural route. The path of Santiago osw advised to do it on foot ... it is good for the mind. Advice on tapas ... you must ask ...
    - potato omelette (this one you have already tried)
    - Galician octopus
    - pickled anchovies
    -horned wine
    -spicy potatoes
    -Pork grilled

      RANA GUSTAVO Thanks again Rana! The Way is definitely good for the mind- we chatted to several people who were doing the walk for that reason. Tapas is always great! Haven’t tried the octopus yet! 😀👍

    Couldn't believe that you stayed in the same hotel in Astorgia as we did a couple of years ago when heading back from Portugal. It even looked like the same room as we had the same view. Great vids guys, really enjoying them,

    Recommend staying in an apartment in Santiago near the old quarter. One we stayed at had secure parking and a cracking little bar. The apartment was top quality with balcony where we could eat breakfast. The TV even had motogp playing the the owner got us four cold beers when we got there...👍

    Congrats on great vids and entertainment ! In 'normal times 'I ride every year down to S Spain, spending a lot of time in the North Spain on way. I have travelled Europe extensively on my Bike(s) since 1999 and i still believe Spain is the best Motorcycling country in Europe, stunning national parks to find and the climate ! perfect. Just stick to the rules..or else..The traffic cops are every where. Even seen mobile speed camera central reservation on a motorway South of Madrid !

    Lovely. We bet you are glad you did that before the Covid19 restrictions. We like the way you did not spare the hotel expenses on your trip. Much better in our opinion than buying a property abroad.

      You’re absolutely right - So glad it was pre Covid - interesting comments about the hotels because that’s exactly what we think 👍 😀 stay in decent places where you can and make the most of it. If you buy a place abroad you’d feel obliged to use it as much as possible- we prefer to see different places! 😀

    Thanks for this vlog, just come across your channel and started with Yorkshire Dales, now reminding myself what could have been, and was sadly cancelled for 2020...here’s to 2021, 🤞🏻. Lovely informative video’s really enjoying them, our pace too, not too many miles in one day, and nice to get the hotel insights, we use the paradores and have planned many a trip around them.

      It’s good to see the sun again! ☀️🥵! I think in Northern Spain in particular it feels pretty safe for bikes- overall I think Spain is more bike friendly than the UK! 👍😀

    Hi ThereI have just come across you channel from your comment on Love life and triumph, Really love the content and the voice over style all very informative . Could I ask you I have just bought 2 neotec 2 helmet's for me and my wife we ride with custom ear plugs and use an autocom system which has great volume what are your thoughts on the sena on the neotec you have? say volume wise and ease of use, many thanks Robert

    • @midlifemotorcyclediaries
      @midlifemotorcyclediaries  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Robert, Thanks very much for your comments and for watching! The Neotec 2 is by far the best helmet we have ever used. We had Schuberths before and the comms system was totally useless. In comparison, the Neotec 2 is so simple to use and has never let us down - we can't recommend it highly enough. Wouldn't be without it!

      @@midlifemotorcyclediaries I meant do you use basecamp for example to plan your routes. I'm just looking for ideas

    • @midlifemotorcyclediaries
      @midlifemotorcyclediaries  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry Ian! I wasn’t sure what you meant by app 😂 now I get it! 😀 I’ve tried Garmin Basecamp but, maybe it’s me but I found it really frustrating and difficult to use 🙁 (probably user error 🤔) so now I just plot each route a day at a time - much more time consuming but it’s simpler for me 😀 sorry I can’t be of more help!

      William Stirling Hi and thanks for watching! To be honest, I can’t remember exactly but the one’s we used were probably between 75 and 100 euros? If you look on Booking.com you’ll find exact prices 😀👍
