Can we defer our enrollment to next year once we have secured our Imat without the need to re appear for the test again as you mentioned about taking a year off for collecting enough money. Please shed some light on this matter.

    Great video!
From all the alternatives you mentioned in the video, freelancing is probably the one that I'd choose.
That said, there is something I'm concerned about: how do taxes work in Italy? I assume if you live and work in Italy there must be some kind of income tax you have to pay.
How does taxation work if you freelance on Upwork, Fiverr and similar platforms?

I’m Italian and I live in Turin. I spend 300€ of rent for a single room, you can spend less for a shared room with two beds, like 150/200/250€ (a single room it could cost from 300€ to 600€. For an entire apartment with one room the rent could cost from 400€ to 800€. It depends). Turin provides housing services for students, where you can spend from 300€ to 400€ with rent and bills included.
My bills are shared with the other roommates so I spend like 100€ every two months. For the food (grocery shopping) I spend 150€. For the public transport I spend 38€. For my SIM card I spend 9,99€ with 160gb, and illimitate text and calls, I use Iliad, Iliad is the best SIM card in Italy.
So for the basic expenses I spend like 600€ monthly. Sometimes more, sometimes less. You spend more if, for example, you have to buy other things like drugs in a pharmacy, clothes, if you go out with friends in restaurants/pub etc etc.
I think Turin is one of the cheapest city in Italy, if you go in Milan you will spend a lot more.

Hi, just finding this video. I am a U.S. citizen, I am licensed as a midwife here and looking at going to Medical School in Italy, my husband and I are both second generation Immigrants and want to return to Italy to show our children their history. Would it be possible to find employment as a midwife while being in medical school? Thank you! This was very helpful.

While i think it is possible for you to get employed, but while being employed and also having a family, finishing medical school in my opinion is impossible. Its one of the hardest things to learn, and it is as or even more occupying than a full time job.
