  • We have several projects coming up in which I will need to move material so I bought a dump trailer. In this video I use it for the first time and tell why I picked the one I did.
I narrowed my search down to Diamond C and Texas Pride based on the Telescopic Lift, as you can see I went with the Texas Pride. In my opinion, Diamond C makes the Cadillac of Trailers. Texas Pride and Diamond C both have their own philosophy in regards to the engineering of what makes one better over the other but I figured based on what I had seen both of them would haul and dump. Diamond C shines on their finish, it stands above the crowd. Having said that for the money I paid, I am pleased with my purchase so far.

I have the 14K 14’ gooseneck with telescopic cylinder dump trailer by Texas Pride and I have no issues with over 200 tons loaded and dumped, great trailer. I pull with a 3500 RAM 4X4 single wheel with the Cummins 1,000 lb-ft torque.

Sounds like you got plenty truck to pull it, I agree, great trailer! Thanks for the comment

Yes I would get another Texas Pride Trailer, for a guy just starting out it’s an awesome trailer for the price you can’t beat it. I few months ago I hauled a Chevy S-10 from southern Florida to Arizona in that dump trailer and not one problem. It has performed flawlessly every time I’ve used it.

Greetings from Blount County. My Texas Pride dump trailer is working so very well for me that I ordered a 25' tilt trailer for hauling my tractors and such. They offer great service and build a very nice product. You're correct, the Diamond C and Maxx D trailers look a bit more refined than the TP, but I don't believe they work any better and the cost of those are, as you said, $3-5,000 more.

I just purchased this exact model and I was told by my dealer to not put more then 8 thousand pounds . I’m happy to see it can handle much more!

👍🏻, I wanted to see what it would do, as you could hear, it was grunting and growling getting started but I never had any doubt it was not going to get it up.

I just ordered a 14 ft 20k with 3 ft sides from Texas pride.. special order 7 gauge floor and 7 gauge walls and 12 inch on centers cross members with 235 70 17.5 tires .. Straight sides instead because they are reinforced more . I also have dual hydraulic jacks coming on mine with 10 inch instead of 8 for the upright and gooseneck neck . I plan to haul 7.5 tons pretty regularly

That’s a beast of a trailer! I have been pleased with mine and I would say you will as well! Thanks for the comment

I watched a bunch of videos including yours before I made the final purchase decision. I have 2 large dumptrucks now. But been wanting something to pull behind one ton for avoiding dot a bit more. I think the 14 ft has a steeper dump angle or might have went with 16 ft. That & the the hinge on the 16 ft is further back and puts a lot more stress on the tail of the trailer frame

I would, it has served me well! I don’t use it everyday but enough to find the flaws and I have not had any issues

How many times does it dump dirt on a single charge

    • @goodlucktrying21
      @goodlucktrying21  ปีที่แล้ว

I have never ran it until it went dead but one day I dumped 10 loads with it and it still had life. I ran out of work before I did battery. It was hooked to the tractor so it was not receiving trickle charge from vehicle

Put solar power on the front or check into a boss dump trailer charger by purkeys charges

I think your reasoning on leverage for dumping makes a lot of sense. The further front the lift power is the more benefits to lifting higher weight.

Agree. I might buy a Texas Pride soon unless someone can talk me out of it for the price point.

Brett, I have had it for almost a year now, cosmetically they are not the slickest but it goes up when I hit the button, down when I hit the other button, lights all still work, battery is holding up well, and pulls well behind the truck. Regardless of what brand you buy they are handy to have! Good luck with it!

Would you buy this again or would you get another brand I’m liking what I’m seeing for the price!

Daniel, I would buy it again, it is not cosmetically perfect (paint job) but I have used it for over a year now and it still works the way it did when I bought it. I can’t remember the exact number but it was a little north of 14k, no clue what they are now. Good luck with it, whatever brand you get, they are handy to have!

We’ll hold on there partner you’re painting with a mighty broad brush. The best trailer is the one that does the job at whatever price point you happen to be at. Diamond C trailers are awesome but if you can only dream of having one every time you drive by the dealership then it doesn’t do you any good if you can’t afford it. Now a Texas Pride trailer is affordable and will definitely do the job.
