I have problems with regular Rathian. I play this when it was on PSP maybe 18 yrs ago. Just got this again a week ago. Bring back memories. Monster seems harder than before. Lol
Thanks! lai slash (R2+X → ㅅ) and helm breaker fill the gauge automatically. Also, if the spirit gauge level is already red, NOT doing the spirit round slash after foresight slash will give you full spirit gauge. (foresight → O or ㅅ+O)
So im probably waaay late asking this but why does it go flying when you’re clawed to its head and smacking it? I see you’re using a claw attack of some sort but then it just goes flying and gets KO’d and I don’t get it lol
True, I don’t even have this crazy good armor I have rose p+ armor set and some jewels all slotted but I use my defender hammer and it’s at 1144 base damage with armor boost and all that without items, I’m at 1300 attack and hit 130+ and more if it’s broken too.
Hey great run, can you tell me what happened at 4:04? You fired the bomb pod and it KO'd the monster? Or was it the clutch claw? I didn't know those things did stun damage lol?
Hey, ever tried the Artemis armour? (If that is the correct spelling) it can block out dragon roars without earplugs. You just have to do the Monster Hunter movie quest. It also has good defense, although this armour may be better. I'd like to see you try it sometime! If you have give me the link please?
yup it's a nice set indeed, especially in the early/mid stage of iceborne :) the full set has lv4 earplug so it should block roars except large ones from elder dragons and etc.
Question: What if you had used the Safi-Fortify strat? Would it have saved time from you becoming more op Or would’ve the setup cost you? (Genuine question as I plan to do MH Speedruns)

I got the exact same armor and pretty much all the same jewels & items. Yet I dont even hit above 70’s Where you hit 140s+. How is that possible??
It's mainly because of part breaking and wound. Plus, I used some buff items in the video.

There was a thorn pod on its head that was activated by claw
Claw triggered the thorn pod! just as favmir said :)

honestly, i wasn't that much into speedruns so i'm afraid i can't be of much help :( i recommend taking a look at peppo or TDS's channel!

wait.. so if you shoot torn pods at its face and you hit it a few times it will instantly KO the monsters?? I need an explanation cuz this is OP. LOL
Thorn pods cause ko damage, and wall blasting them with it causes a ton of them to stick. Hitting a ton at once is dealing a ton of ko damage.

He used the slinger. In PS4 it's L2 button
The Slinger bursts can only be done after a Spirit attack.
yup and with thorn slingers L2 does some serious stun buildup
Why are you not going for the tail but instead the head?
to get head flinch while midair! and it's too hard to cut its tail anyway
I agree, no hammer/hunting horn/charge blade mains nearby to KO it anyway. So the head is all yours.
