  • The all-new Kia Carnival are available with 7, 8 or 11 seats. The 11-seater here comes fully-imported from South Korea, while the 7 & 8-seater are assembled locally at Kulim, Kedah. The question is, which one should you buy? Also, is it better than the Toyota Alphard? Be sure to watch until the end to find out!

Test drive both Vellfire & alphard, the 2.5 petrol variant are too underpowered for me esp if full passenger. The 3.5 variant, roadtax is too expensive....this 2.2D carnival wt 440nm of torque will be more suitable hauling the whole family but prefer the 8 seats variant

Practicality is really the Grand Carnival's biggest attraction. But also, parking would be quite hard.

This the best vehicle after driving it around 3 months. Sure, the CKD offer with Bose Sound System, Sunroof, Rotating Seats and etc. But, how many times do you really use that feature such as sunroof. The maintenance, the weather stripping on the sunroof. 60K plus you can go buy another car or for something else. The CBU version is completely enough fulfill the needs for people that a having a big family size. And, It comes from Korea, the torque spec from the factory, the assembled, it is different in Malaysia. We tried the Vellfire, Starex, Innova, CX-8 but it is small to put luggage to go on the road trip. Not including when you stop on the road to buy things and put it more in trunk, it is very spacious when the last seat fold down. This, is the hands down the best car for a big family. Any other cars cannot compete with this new KA4 2022 Kia Carnival.
More over, driveablity is even better. It doesn’t felt like you driving a van. To me, it is the combination of Pick Up Trucks and Mpv. The torque is wayy more better to overtaking any trucks, even Land Cruiser. Fitted with cruise control, blind-spot assist and the camera is actually big enough viewing whenever reversed or straight park. The steering angle is better due the car is long and big.
The design, some people think it is like Range Rover because the windshield and the Pillar. Front, Rear, Back. When I watched this on TH-cam, it is bery different in real life. It is huge. This CBU already fitted with auto tailgate, auto sliding door and the key fob can turn on the engine by pressing the combination of keys. Really good feature as to cool down the car during hot days or starting the engine in the morning. Oh and btw, it took me 2 hours to wash and detailed the KA4 Carnival.
Fuel consumption, very good mileage around 16.6 km/h per liter and the car must use B7 Euro 5 Diesel. (Depends on how you drive and place)
Overall, I am satisfied with the decision to take this CBU 2022 KA4 Kia Carnival. Congrats to KIA, not KIN (the logo) 😂

How substantial is the RM50k difference when considering a 7/8-seater that comes with advanced safety features? While I'm uncertain about the importance of these advanced safety features, I must note that my maximum budget is set at RM200k. I'm contemplating the trade-offs.

Old news, fren. Bermaz has confirmed 11-seater will continue to be available as CBU now. CKD in future.
But I still won't buy it - mid seat no 3-pt seat belt & no headrest. Safety fail. Lack of ADAS. Whole car only 2 isofix. All seats are smaller than the CKDs. Not to mention the ugly side mirror.

GC, methinks you could have quoted if anyone wants 8-ppl capacity but with budget slightly less than the C-class & 3 series sedans and WAY LESS compared to E-class & 5-series sedans, the higher variants could well be the answer - but not until the higher variants' seats are proven far more plush than the existing 11-seater 🤣😂

How’s the headlight performance on pitch dark roads? Does it need a light bar?

    • @amirmohammad6734
      @amirmohammad6734 ปีที่แล้ว

Better visibility, the led projects very nicely on the road and the high beam is more better than installing the light bar. More than that, the torque during overtaking lorry is gnarly. With 8 speed transmission drives very smoothly with better suspension. I’ve just went back from road trip driving the new 2.2 Carnival CBU.

@@idealoptique Exactly. Even the previous Carnival the second value is pretty high still. 2017 Kia Carnival 2.2L 6 speed entry model is RM 154k and after 5 years now the used car market selling around RM 110k, it only drop about 30%. The high resale value even surpass many Honda and Toyota models. My friend so much he wanted a Kia Carnival 2.2L but he shock that it has high resale value despite of 5 years car without warranty.

Hyundai Kia reliability has deteriorated significantly since they began using cheap Chinese parts.
The seating capacity is irrelevant if the van is broke down and won't drive.
Seating for 11 is fantastic if you could actually use it. The rear seat has zero legroom so it would only work to babies in car seats. If you installed the middle seat in the 2nd or 3rd row you would completely block access to the rows behind. Using the 4th row further eliminates all storage space.
Ford and General Motors sell very reliable 4 and 5 row vans that seat 12 or 15 people. Those vans are wider, taller and longer allowing seating capacity, an aisle to access the rear seats and substantially more legroom as well as ample storage space in the rear with all the seats in use.
