I have only been a road cyclist and runner my whole life, and I am absolutely FLOORED and ADDICTED to this series. One of the best and most high quality productions I have seen in endurance sports. All those that are behind the scenes, all those who participate in any way... HATS OFF TO YOU ALL!
There has been no shortage of footage and content posted about these gravel events, but i feel like this series is finally taking the format to a professional, "netflix" type level. The camera work, the music, the editing are all really high quality. The stories about the riders and the rivalries and the courses are presented in a way that really pulls you in. Really enjoying this series!
I’ve gotta give credit to Lifetime. This series is spectacular. If you’re a fan of off road endurance racing, you’re getting fuzzies watching these episodes. We need more Kimo Seymour. No one runs a better racing series. All of the commentary from the athletes was so spot on outrageously good. These episodes get me SO pumped for the 2024 season and can’t wait to see everyone out there in some of these races. Oh and bring on Season 3!!! 🎉💪👏
Kasia is on another level, incredible to see her form. Would loved to have heard her interviewed. It'll be interesting to see Mohoric next year at Unbound and if Keegan decides to "ride for fun" too.
I’ve been absolutely STRUGGLING with motivation to get on the bike for the last 5 months, but this video series got my motivation back up and the excitement to get on the bike is finally back. This season was awesome and can’t wait to see how yall handle season 3 next year!
Watching Keegan & Russel roll into that crash to avoid injury so instinctively was neat (even though a crash is never neat). A crash course in crashing. Loved the series and the tandem male female coverage on the big events.
🌟 What a captivating cycling adventure! It's a privilege to add such a high-quality video to our collection. Hats off to you for the amazing content! 🥳
The world champion shows up, buries Sofia in about two hours, and Sofia then says that she only wanted to race for two hours. Oh brother. Sofia, you just got waxed by someone with a lot more miles in her legs than you.
Great series of on the scene behind the scenes footage with insightful narration and authentic rider comments. This was the best way to watch the Life Time Rae Series. Thank you for doing this!
I watched all these on the trainer and they were amazing. Melted the time away and so motivating - during the finish sprints I noticed my power would jump 10% automatically.
15:03 THIS gives me the feels after all the modern times are doing to try to take away space for women to compete!! Some people literally think its progress to have men and women all together. Its not. Great job Big Sugar and Life Time!
Chequamegon’s men’s race had arguably the most incredible finish to any race in the two years of this series so far. Sad that wasn’t even mentioned, let alone shown.
LT should consider some course markings so they don’t have athletes missing turns again like this. I get it that the pros should know the course and have GPS turn notifications, but if you have amateurs missing turns and getting lost, that could become a bigger issue.
I like how Finsterwald thought it was a good idea to go through a feed-zone mid-road but still wanting to get a hand-out. Dude, come on... you're a pro, you should know better.
Agree that was rough to watch - That said, I can think of at least one time when I went full-knucklehead and took out myself and a teammate, so I'll return to my glass house rather than rant any further 😀
Interesting documentary. I watched both seasons. I do wish that they tried to incorporate more from outside of the races into the videos. Like, when it cuts to Kimo at the end discussing new women's drafting rules, where did this appear in the rest of the series. I did see that a couple of races had the women amongst the men, but was that then discussed outside of the races as being an issue? I think a breakdown of the competitors could also be useful. In the Leadville men's episode (close to where they were discussing Keegan having Torbin as his leadout domestique), it came up, but then there was not much else. It would be nice to know how many competitors are part of these groups and in addition to how many are primarily sponsored vs being pro-ams with full-time day jobs. Idk. It's just I don't follow this stuff closely, so it just would help set some context to things.
The rules for women not drafting has to be imposed on the men. Men may not have the women sitting on their wheels. The men has to let the women pass. Until the 25th ? Placed woman or something along those lines.. To have the best women have a clean race must take precedent over the 87th ? placed mens race.
There are so many important riders that are not taken into account. For starters, Dylan Johnson, who has a much more interesting and sophisticated discourse compared to the majority that are interviewed. It's boring to hear the same riders being interviewed in all the episodes. Also, tech is so crucial in gravel, yet there isn't any discussion of this in all the episodes.
Great suggestion on integrating tech into more of our content. We're riders and athletes ourselves and use tech in so many different ways. What's your favorite? Keep an eye out for more Dylan in '24!
Really cool series guys ! Kudos to the production team but for each episode, you just lost me at the podium ceremony. I understand that there is some sort of « you must be part of the lifetime Grand Prix to get to climb on the podium if you win » but watching this just doesn’t feel right to me. The winner of the day should get to climb on the box ! Maybe I’m missing something ?
We hold podiums for each event and then the series. This final event capped off the season long competition with the Gravel Rave (and big checks!) As you can see, it was a pretty wild night and super fun!
@@cartersheley1567 yeah, but Kasia although still very good, hasn't been at the really pointy end for a while now. Imagine if a Demi Vollering or a Lotte Kopecky were to show up. Or on the CX/XCM side, a Puck Pieterse or Fem Van Empel show up. It's guaranteed carnage.
@@PtWhiteBeltAbsolutely correct. And what a surprise, Sofia just happened to want a “fun day on her bike” the one day some real competition showed up and she couldn’t hang. Just accept defeat gracefully ffs.
The World Champion smashes the field and LifeTime elects not to interview her or show the two race winners podium moment? Shame on you LifeTime...very poor form for such a respected series of races.
Look out for this year's race coverage, we're always looking to improve! We'll bring you more athletes, more race action and more of everything you enjoy in racing.
Thanks for checking out the series! At each event there are podiums for the day and for the series. Since this was the season finale, we went all-out with the Gravel Rave + podium!
Minute 27. How asinine are those crews at the feed station! They have no business being around any bike race. The one idiot tries to hand up a hydration pack in a crowd of riders. I love gravel and this scene, but what a bunch of clueless noobs!
The sport is changing under our feet so give people a chance to make mistakes, ok. Glad you love gravel and so thankful you're checking out the racing - cheers to bikes!
The difference between the world tour riders and LifeTime is significant. 5th at worlds for Keagan is impressive... But they're leaving out that he was almost 7 minutes back which does delegitimize the level of the LT field. Same goes for the womens field unfortunately as evidenced by the huge win by the rainbow in this race alone. Will be interesting to see if any A list names show up to these events in the future to calibrate fitness level between the world tour and LT.
Wout was also 8min back. So while I get you're argument, a gravel race isn't a road race. There are a lot more variables. Do I think Swenson has a shot against someone like Wout, MvP, Tadej, Pidock etc if they decided to focus on gravel....no. But then again, who in the world does?
@@daness40 Keegan had virtually no teammates close to him - think one of them made contact briefly (maybe Andrew Lydic?), but due to the start positions based off of UCI points none of the other guys were ever remotely close to him throughout the race
