- Lag, glitches, & game crashes have plagued the last few SVS events. But there are a few other reasons I think the SVS isn't worth doing. Lack of rewards or options to players who are not in the top 10 or so, great loses/costs to play competitively when compared to the rewards, all made worse by sometimes complete inability to play the event.

My entire server complained week after week about these issues you are 100% correct in your assessment.
Fortunately for me I cannot participate on Saturdays due to work so I enjoyed apology gifts.

@@WGtopwar that's why I called it a gift not compensation. After speaking to many other lower ranked players lots of them are saying they're not going to participate in SVS anymore it's just not worth it
@@ReneSookdeo I'm still going to be logging on and at least watching during the event cuz I want to see if things are getting better or worse. I'm sure there will come a time after a few updates where I want to play again

My big issue with svs is the absolutely horrible time they decide to leave it at. Saturday at 10am. People work on Saturday. And it never changes so if you work that day or time, you can never do svs. I've messaged them multiple times to put it on a Sunday when more people have off or rotate the time/day but they refuse to move it from this idiotic time slot
It is a weird time to make it. The analytics for my channel seem to sync up with pretty well for when people are active on the game. And the games activity falls off a cliff on the weekends
It's only 10 a.m. for those living in the time zone of the US's East Coast. No matter what time they make it, it's going to be inconvenient for some. Why should American players be privileged? Suck it up.
yeah, agree with you. i got wrecked 2 times because of "cant teleport here" bug (for lvl less than 80 where is only hit and run tactic) so thats frustrating.
That's how most of our people lost their stuff. Hit and run tactics. Lag made it so they couldn't do anything

For some reason people on my server don't play SvS for rewards, but rather for glory😁. Everyone works together putting aside our differences. I agree that the rewards are not great, considering the spending. I also feel the limit on reward redemption is an issue too for me. No point in working so hard if I can only redeem 2 orange shards per day😓
My old alliance were PVP hawks. They love atking. Personally I've never been a hardcore PVP guy which plays into part of the reason I don't do SVS for now. And the daily limit on the SVS rewards is weird. It's not like you can abuse it. You only get so much from SVS

@@NiloBh it's probably there way of forcing you to buy a bunch of different things so you don't finish any one of them. Then you'll spend money later on stuff you didn't finish
I just set a few traps on gathering, use shield trough svs and usually someone hits my farms and I get kills. Generally I get the basic rewards before they only give cards. TM is pretty nice for SVS since I don't have to make Valhallas to be fairly strong and thus not risk losing them. If I want to actively attend SvS I mostly go out, hit some enemy bases and farms, tp to another location and repeat. I usually don't get hit during event at all, without having Valhallas I don't have to worry about getting hit and can play bit more wrecklessly. At this point spending gems and Valhallas for SvS doesn't seem worth it at all.
I stopped building my Valhalla's and I let the ones I had just degrade. So recently I've been jumping into SVS I'll just pour it over to a hive burn a bunch of people and then go back under a shield. Got 60k points for 5 to 10 minutes of attacking this last SVS. Good enough for me
makes you wonder if valhalla units are even worth making in the first place

Most of level 80s that have played for a while don't have them or only keep 1 March. Personally I'm not going to build any until I'm done with everything that requires food or oil. I used all the odinium I've gotten to unlock all types
Also to go along with the first point of rewards for someone like my who was very competitive and spends around 4k-5k gems in the event or less. I got 9th place one the winning side which is 1k cards + 280 cards from the 30k points rewards + 30 cards from winning or participating in it. So that's 1310 cards and if I were to spend that all on formation 101s which is the only thing currently spend the cards on that maths out to 218 formation 101s which is equivalent to 8,720 gems if you were to buy them all from the vip store. I'm sure it's a net gain of gems on most of the other items as well I just only spent the time to math out the one I buy.
Your numbers don't lie. that is a good bang for your buck. But I think most of my arguments are for those who don't make the top 10. Especially for F2P players thats a tough mountain to climb
im from warzone 1064 and during svs i decided not to participate and i was happy with the compensation package however i mistook a 4h shield for a 24h shield and got hit immediately after during ke after i had used the +2s, just an annoying thing that happened to me
Ouch that has happened to me once before thinking I use the 8-hour shield and I used a 4-Hour shield came home after work logged in my base was demolished and lost close to 100 + 2 it was all my fault though

hey bro tomorrow we are having the svs thing and I have a question about it, we just got a ruin and I wanted to know if tomorrow on the svs contest if there a chance that someone might attack the ruin and take it away from us or is it save?
The enemy server will attack the ruins. However they can only take it for the duration of the battle. Once it's over your alliance will get it back for the remaining time that was left on it

It goes to war for an hour or 2 and if no one attacks it you keep it. If they do attack it you'll need to defend it

Without money there isn't really a way to level up fast for the most part. Just get your hands on as much vit as possible and attack warhammers and dark forces
what are you using your stuff for if not to battle? You can say the same thing about every competition in this game...the costs usually outweigh the benefits but the loses are temporary since you can repair/rebuild...and the gains are stuff that you wont get if you dont participate.
I've always been a bit of a PVE or base builder kind of player so I enjoy just building. But My big PVP event I like though is odinium was. I really enjoy that but don't have to worry about losing vals. Once I've unlocked all types of Valhalla units I will likely be more willing to lose them. But I'm very protective of them because of the odinium cost. I'm focused on saving as much as possible to unlock them all.

Yes you can. However if you were in a completely brand new server you won't have Your first SVS for at least two or three months I believe it is. After that it'll be every other week
how to quickly get a lot of points on svs.. do you have any suggestions?
They recently made it so you get more points for taking out enemies in objectives. So you could try to hit the ruins real quick but it's pretty common for people to get in the ruin and get back out so they don't lose troops. So that can be difficult.
The only other way to get a lot of troops would be just to very early on in the event teleport to the hives and hit as many people as you can before you get zero. If you keep teleporting frequently it'll be hard for them to lock you down and you might get a lot of kills before they catch on. This game gives a lot of benefit to the attacker so you're just going to have to be aggressive.

I also dont like how they put svs Saturday instead of sunday and u make good point im probably not gonna do svs no more. I couldnt really do it the last 2 times cause i work Saturdays
They had a vote on discord to put in on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Saturday won by far last I looked.
I still haven't figured out how to win battles (outside of weaker players in Warzone Challenge). It seems that everyone still playing is level 80, but some super-players have completed their research and now have 3 heroes, and 100+ troops in the march (to my 83). In KE I could send a march to reinforce a level 76 against a level 79 and win on defense, but no one took the bait the last two KE. In SVS the super-players attack everyone and there's nothing to be done. In a regular game attacking a ruins (or silo) only works if it's empty or you're on top. I would like to get 800 points to buy Delhuyar, but don't see how.
Unfortunately as the game has progressed it has removed a lot of the strategy involved in the game. And replaced it with pay win mechanics. You will only be able to beat people who spend less money than you and or don't play as much as you. But it mostly comes down to the money. If it's a free-to-play versus another free to play then it comes down to activity or the fractional bit of strategy that is left in this game.
A year later and this is still spot on. Svs just isn’t worth it.

I'm still not a big fan of SVS. There's not a significant amount of strategy involved It really just comes down to are you bigger than the guy you're battling. I really like the combat style in eternal lands. While the pay to win aspect of the game is still true with the slower paced combat since you don't have to worry about your base getting hit it allows for more creative strategies.

This time around I couldn't move or see anything for the first 15 minutes after I tped over. I got leveled because of it. Luckily I'm not maxed so losing anything significant wasn't a factor but it still hurt. Battle reports straight up didn't work either. I think the value argument is something that really cant be won because of how much people are willing to spend to win. Server v server modes are the only way to keep people spending in the first place. Near every server has a dude that dropped stacks to be the top by significant margin and they cant be touched unless others do the same. If you didn't drop that amount and are competitive I see the value. If you've dropped a lot then I can see the lack of value. They can't really keep up with it because it'll become even more p2w which everyone complains about.
They really need to add something that even low levels can do to help the server. I hear eternal lands you can donate troops and it helps somehow but you lose the troops. something like that in svs would be interesting but make in based on the number of troops not the lvl. With a minimum lvl requirement of course say lvl 50 or 60
@@WGtopwar The battle system is broken beyond belief. I have never seen such a bad system in any game. For instance every other game I have played simultaneously battles both sides so the attacker will take losses if there is a possibility (unlike this game). You can not shield in other games if you initiate an attack for a period of time. If you try to port in other games any attack that was already initiated instantly hits you. The idea that the battle system decides who goes first with the advantage in favour of the attacker based on a skill is very bad at best... Farmville with tanks is how this game should be played by F2P people as they have no chance vs anyone that has put some cash into the game. As mentioned by people it is easy for one player to be untouchable if they sink enough money into this game due to the systems in place (or total lack of any real battle system).

You'd think that since US servers make Top War more money, they'd concentrate their man power into fixing ours but instead they did what "a company that takes the users for granted" did; left us with scraps..
Not only that they have to go and blame someone else like Google. I'm pretty sure every person who plays this game can get on all the same time and Google could handle it just fine it's top wars servers That's the problem

Completely agree on you point about low levels. The first compensation package they sent did have the phrase "for lv. 80 commanders" implying they weren't giving it to everyone. but I did hear a lot of 70s got the same package. Unfortunately I didn't follow up with some lower levels to see if they got the same. So maybe top war intended to give a level dependent reward. Its amazing to have people from so far away here :) thank you for dropping by. USA myself.
@@WGtopwar im at the Moment lvl 64 -_- and for me there is Not much i can do on svs i manage to get the lower lvls lvl 50 to 65 maybe sometime lvl 70 if im lucky but for me there Not much to Do

@@andreb7048 They should give more points for harvesting/killing DF in the enemy server so lower levels can at least get the 30k points for the rewards. I don't know how much they give at the moment

SVS and Odin is 4 hours total a month. Ke rewards are much worse. Our server is cannibalizing itself out of boredom

Not participate in SvS? But I thought the whole point of farming and building is so that you can do well in SvS. The in-game rewards are just the frosting.
I still do odinium war and that's a lot of fun. Plus it seems to regularly give me better rewards and I don't have to repair

SVS has been optimised now, I think you should update this video and share the latest inputs.
While my opinion has changed slightly I still hate the event. I play it every time it comes around just to keep my server happy. But it favors whales because it's all about base hitting which suppresses individual strategy and encourages large expenditures of resources. Just to participate for the whole event

I'm becoming increasingly disenchanted with top war. I stopped spending a few days ago and I plan to keep it that way. I'm still going to keep playing because I really enjoy the TH-cam aspect of it. But the game itself is a disappointment to me at this point
I quit SVS for the glitchiness. I will post reinforcements on some of my lower lvl guys who forget to shield and have ranked high just doing that.

Yea my server is constantly pared with servers much older and stronger so every svs we lose
Hopefully you'll get paired with servers around you strength once your rank gets low enough
Yes, the rewards is not worth at all for what we had already spent.. Devs need to think about player cost too.. They only think about their pocket 🤣🤣
I hope they increase the server rewards to make it better. if they increase individual rewards people end up just playing for themselves
Many players and my server do not participate because of the cost to rewards ratio. my server wins a lot because all the top Alliance coordinate and work together but the rewards are still not worth it
@@ReneSookdeo I enjoy odinium war a lot more. At least I can walk away from that and not be mad for the rest of the week repairing the damage. Win or lose I usually have fun during odinium war
@@WGtopwar I agree but unfortunately for me my Alliance normally votes for Odinium to be 2 hours before kill event, and I cannot participate Saturdays because of my schedule so I normally miss out.

its not about the rewards gamer.... its about bragging rights... we have a better server... the rewards at the end are icing on the cake

Just found the channel as I started playing top war with from from a different game….. I’ve played over 10 games similar to top war and if they are Chinese made they all have this issue. Lagging servers especially when going against a Chinese locked server. Packs are always cheaper as they claim “economic” differences yet some of the poorest countries even pay more per pack than mainland Chinese
I think you should play svs. If you spend enough gems you get high position and the rewards are not that bad plus is a war game if you dont do SvS EL KE there is no reason to play this game just farming
There are other reasons people play I mean those events are only once a week or once every few months for EL. I actually enjoy growing in the game in general and building up my base and getting higher damage on things like the world boss or sand table. Or just having fun with the community. If I have one bad day in SVS or KE then I potentially could damage any enjoyment I'm getting from other events because I lost my Valhalla units. Also having put money into the game the rewards from SVS don't seem as valuable to me as they would a free to play player
Sometimes it’s more about bragging rights and if your on here trying to convince people not to partake is why many servers loose . You can be a less strong server and still win if you have more participants
SVS has improved a lot since this video. But also my server is based on participation and not whales. It's hilarious watching someone get swarmed the moment they hit one of our guys
I agree except the vals....vals are pointless. The amount it takes to make them does not reflect what you get out of them. Roll with 82s and below and have wayyyyyy more fun. Server 779 here currently tied for 1st in tw for svs
But for the most part you need money for a good amount of 82s that would be my big down side. I've stopped making vals just cause I want to unlock the ones I don't have. So now I've been doing a little svs for some points

Yes, but I have heard of peoples accounts being deducted the equal value in gems as what they got a refund on so you can go negative. Also I've heard you can get you account locked and you have to buy it back on some refunds. In some cases I've heard of this happening when people get double charged.

Personally I believe there are real fundamental issues game play and with cost to participate in game. Especially when things like premium hero are cost prohibitive to all but the well healed. If just average person killing time and looking to heavily spend money your not competitive.

Not as much as I used to. When this video was made svs lagged so much it was almost unplayable and they were giving out compensation packages because it was so bad. However I'm still not a fan of the even because it favors whales and discourages individual strategy because you have to worry about your base getting burned unlike EL

I'm not even gonna try this stupid event until I hear differently, and see actual changes!!! Oh, and the compensation packs,2 make up for the lag and losses were and are pathetic!!! I just started playing 2 months ago, and this has me rethinking spending the way I have been spending!! I just started 2 spend some real money and I created another account 2 help the first. Top war better step their game up,especially with the Chinese favoritism!!

On the idea of not participating in svs for rewards i disagree fully. When it comes to using speed ups and other things like ports are optional to play somewhat competitively. You can get all those things for free by getting ports from the alliance store and speed ups from completing your 50 Warhammers a day. I personally didn't use speed ups either of my last 2 svs's and got top 10 both times and I'm not that strong. I do spend about 3k+ gems on ports though but it's definitely worth it if you take into account the price of stuff in the svs store for the amount of cards you get to spend on items.
Now to criticize topwars way of handling it on discord and lag. I think the servers were horrible and had extreme lag and other issues but I personally tend to look past it when it comes to losing troops to it because the other server is also experiencing it so we try to abuse the lag and play very safe with wiping other players, all troops you lose to bugs can be avoided by playing smart and quick. Only exceptions are if you somehow to port somewhere random not expecting to be attacked and you had to relog to get the map to work and such and was attacked. Also I can sympathize with topwar on trying to handle the discord from a company's perspective. Could they have handled it better, sure. But it is understandable if I put myself in their shoes by muting people telling people to ask for refunds. The servers should work better the hosting country since that is where they are hosted idk seems like something I could understand, that goes for other games as well having things like better ping for servers closer to their main hosted servers. I think it's kinda dumb about the cheaper prices though even though I don't spend much. If you want to talk to me about it feel free to talk to me on discord, my tag is Logic I Core#5238.

I can understand the side of people who still want to play SVS to be sure. Really you don't need a reason other then you think its fun. I tried to avoid saying absolutely do not play SVS and tried to keep with why I don't. I'm also not a very big PVP guy myself in most games so that bias definitely comes into play here.
I'll message you on discord. I', very curious how you can take advantage of the lag. I know on our server there was about a 3 min period we couldn't make any actions and several people came out of it zeroed. Not know when they got hit and no battle report to immediately look at.
Top War likely pays for hosting servers in serval different country's where they have large player bases so that shouldn't be an issue and likely wouldn't explain why it seems to keep getting worse. But I can sympathize with the mods also since they aren't actually employees they are players just like us. I think everyone was upset and it just spirals from there. I was no exception to that in the discord as well.
@@WGtopwar if I sense lag, I change my base skin to default and hide among the dead alliances/dead bases. It works big time.😂

@@WGtopwar I remove everything I equip on my base, and sit calmly in my own server for a few minutes. My alliance along with another one, does the defending job in our server, and another two alliances do the attacking. The top 4 alliances in our server each have atleast 1-2 lvl80s. It's fun for us because we work together like crazy, and immediately after SvS, we have KE so we immediately start burning each other🤣
It's better compared to supply event where whole server fights for supplies which worth just 2 yellow shards but spends speed ups teleport and troops
Absolutely agree. And you can't even save the supply event currency of for example you only have 50 left. If it's not spent in a day it expires!

The Battle system in Top war is pathetic at best. It is totally focused on Pay to Win (no surprises here) , But every other pay to win game I have played has vastly better systems in place. Top War is a joke and thus the game is more like farmville with tanks in all reality. In other games when a battle takes place each side hits the other at the same time (so you always have losses on both sides). If you port in other games you get instantly hit by any incoming marches. In other games , once you attack someone you can not shield for a period of time (usually 5 minutes or so).
Top war uses a system that benefits the attacker 100% (which is pathetic as it is no real risk for most heavy pay to win players).
Well I agree with a lot of what you say there are a couple corrections I'd like to give. If you attack someone in top war you do have to wait 5 minutes before shielding.
Also since the attacker generally has the advantage in a fight I think it's a good thing you can tell teleport without automatically getting hit. Allowing a defender to have some sort of advantage or way out of the fight.
I also like that compared to a lot of games if you lose everything in your base you can have it rebuilt in a few days rather than if you weeks or months for games like King of Avalon for example.
Also defenders have one advantage through the fact that their March goes to the repair facility before units get degraded. So doing things like hospital traps especially during eternal lands can be devastating to an attacker

Yes, but ports get expensive real quick. If the attacker has the advantage it is nice a defender can do something. Of all the imbalanced things in this game that's not on the list in my opinion
Not an 80 here, so I'll keep participating. Rewards are worth it for us cashless players. The connection issues really wrecked me in the past 2 SvS, though.
The China server thing has nothing to do with favoritism, it's simply because they have a better service provider with a more stable connection. From a business point of view, they know they'll have to upgrade the service, find a new provider, or lose players.
They have to have game hosting servers in other parts of the world. Especially where they have large player bases. And if it was just the connection I don't think it would be getting worse. It would stay the same between SVS events. Either way I hope they are getting on it.
@@WGtopwar That's what I meant, they rent hosting from different companies around the world. Many games have a different host per region (Asia, EU, NA, etc.). However this one is set up, they just have better servers/connection in their primary region. They don't want to lose their big spenders, so they'll get it fixed.
@@beren8101 I hope they do it soon. I don't want to lose more players. I'm already thinking about transferring to a newer server or one that recently merged for more players
@@WGtopwar put an alt in 851 and check us out. One of the strongest servers in our group, undefeated in SvS, although that might change this weekend because we're paired with a chinese server and they look extra strong.

I don't even use Valhalla units anymore. also a huge contributor to why I didn't like svs at this time was all the severe lag/crashing issues at the time. I don't even care if its selfish after seeing everyone super angry. I play to have fun. I do svs now since its gotten better but I'm still not a huge fan
Why spend money on a game if your not gonna fight and be a cry baby when losing troops
I'm a weird gamer I suppose. I like base build upgrading kinda games, I like PVE, achievements, and collections.
I don't mind losing troops if I have plenty of the resources to bring them back but odenium is a pain. And I'm probably going to continue to be very protective of my Valhalla troops until I have unlocked all of them that way I'm not wasting odinium on repairs. After that though. No point in having them if I'm not going to use them. But that's also one of the reasons I really like the odinium War I can cut loose and I don't have to worry about losing my troops
