In you boats cooling system it is doubtful your zincs are new when you run BB through the coolers to clean them. The old zinc is somewhere between new and gone but it will be covered with oxidation, the BB will almost instantly eat the oxidation and whatever is left of your old zinc has a good chance to crumble and chunks fall into your coolers. Not the end of the world but something to avoid whenever possible. This is why they recommend removing your zincs and plugging the holes when you clean. Then after your done you can assess the condition and rep,ace any zincs that are 50% or less.

thanks, this was helpful
Did the zinc become brittle? I'm curious if there is damage that isn't visible.
Sr De Scaler Chemical Price inform
Should have put some copper in there to see if zinc would react
Good to know it wont immediately vaporize zincs
What was the point of this experiment?
Probably showing it has very little effects on Zince but eat the shit out of calcium based material.
Jonny.... come on man 😉
