Using a Small Dozer to Cut In a Woods Road I

I have a Dresser TD7G dozer. It is 70 hp and weighs 14,500 lbs. The cutting edge is 7 - 1/2 feet wide and the tracks span 5 - 1/2 feet outside. A little small but I use it to build tractor roads in our woods. This road section slabs down a side hill. I am not what you would call a dozer operator - more like a kid in a sandbox. To jerky and rough on the controls and need more seat time.
