This is a beautiful pattern and well worth doing . I have made about 10 of these with Alison’s previous video. The any which way is a super baby blanket. Looks great in any colour and looks beautiful using double knit wool.
They were donated to “hugs” charity who comfort parents whose babies were born sleeping
Thank you Alison for the pattern

I just wanted to say a big thank you Allison for this tutorial. When I first stumbled across this tutorial, I stopped watching it within a few minutes thinking that this was way way above my skills. A few days later i reopened the video and watched a little more and when you gave your words of encouragement I actually believed that I could do this…..and I did! I actually did it. Thank you so much for being so encouraging and for being so clear with your instructions. I appreciate it so very much. I am so proud of myself that I was able to do this for my first Granddaughter.

It seems like you would need to chain 6 since you use three of the stitches as your double treble so that would leave three stitches for your chain since you have chain three in all of the other corners. I know it works out with the chain 5 but I am curious how it doesn't throw it out of balance since that space you begin and end the row in only has a chain two space. I suppose since you work the same number of stitches in and the yarn does stretch it makes it work. In the USA we pronounce it like "fill-A" like what you do to a steak, lol! I absolutely love learning from you. I have some hooks like that and I think I will pull one out and give this blanket a go. I usually use the Furls streamline resin hooks and my hands don't get tired or sore. Thank you so very much for your beautiful tutorials and for all you do for the yarn community.

I haven’t finished the video yet, but this looks like something I can do. I’ve done granny squares before so I feel pretty comfortable with the concept. Anything that doesn’t start with chaining a million starting chains is great in my book! Plus if you mess up you can recognize a mistake right away instead of 3 or 4 long rows on work that has to be redone. Those are the projects that never get finished in my house. Thank you for the great explanation.
