The scene where Lloyd buys Walker a new guitar is one of my favorite scenes in this show. Then Walker asks for a request from Lloyd, and they all sit there and listen.
Best part about that scene is the way its framed when he comes into the store. They have the camera framed so you think he is buying a guy, when the first thing in the frame at the beginning of the scene is a wrack of guitars on the wall leaving you to think the first thought of him coming into that store in the first place is to buy the guitar, but he still is looking at the guns as an easy means of resolving the issue. Instead he swallowed his pride and humbled walker by giving him the guitar. In the beginning of that particular episode K tells him to swallow his pride. so.
@Michael Miller Exactly. It's just a brilliant little mini-story-arc. Right up until you see Lloyd produce the guitar and be vulnerable by saying he knows nothing about guitars (not to mention the Yellowstone ranch hands aren't exactly paid well lol), it's debatable whether this is a murder or good faith gesture. Just a great scene.

He also rights and directs movies the man's got skills that's for damn sure.
One of my favorite scenes is when Lloyd gives Walker the guitar and Walker plays him my favorite Ryan Bingham song, The Poet. Best way to end the video.
The poet is one of my favorite songs, but he's got so many more that just are the ever living s***. Hands down he's in my top five. You got to give credit to Jackson Taylor and the sinners, Wayne the train Hancock, Hank 3, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, Hayes Carl , and so many others that I can't think of at the moment pretty buzzed up LOL
Walker is arguably one of the most complicated characters of the show. Really respect the writers for developing his role as a cowboy, actor and singer/guitar player. Well done!
The last scene where Lloyd and Walker fight and then he brings him a guitar afterwards. Thats one of the scenes that really drew me in as to how complex this show can be. Walker can be a cad but hes straight up more often than not. The story arcs are well written dense and complex but at the same time humorous and simple at times. Its hard not to be drawn in. And where Walker is singing and the ranchhands just listen and are moved is so very powerful.
Ryan Bingham is incredible. Thank you Taylor Sheridan for giving us more of Walker. I love his music and now I can see him on the best show on television since The Andy Griffith Show.
@@barefootbreezy6983 For real, I think a lot of people willingly overlook that basically all the characters are straight up psychotics in a cowboy cult haha.

It’s funny bc I’m so on walkers side. How hard would it have been to fricken explicitly TELL HIM what the brand meant? Rip basically trapped him into slavery. Just a little communication could have saved everyone this mess
@@Ben-fk9ey yes he was a child and institutionalized but the whole joining was in exchange for hiding the second body. They didn’t force him to join after just his father. And again the biggest thing, they literally told him the brand meant lifetime servitude, unlike walker

Walker is my favorite. He never wanted trouble. He got his brand like Jimmie, falsely. Wanted a new clean way to live. When the Dutton Family was under attack, dang if Walker didn't come strolling out of the bunkhouse blazing a rifle.
I've binged this show in like 2 weeks. Can someone tell me why walker is such a hated character? He's literally the least psychotic character in the show

Lloyd gave Walker what he deserved. But it’s in his character to feel guilty because he’s a good man. Lloyd is my favorite character because of his loyalty.
For a sophisticated ranching operation/criminal enterprise, the Yellowstone ranch has got to have the dumbest staffing plan ever: "Let's just round up unreliable ex-cons on their way out of prison, have then branded as a "test of loyalty", then tell them they have to violate their parole with criminal acts, and that they can never leave, ever! And if they protest, we'll murder them and dump their bodies on the side of a highway, out in the open! What could possibly go wrong?!"

Huh. Walker not only made Rip break his own no-fighting rule, but he kept his word and didn't swing a fist either. Just a knife. Pretty solid storytelling if it's intentional.
@@abdurharper4287 they know exactly how to talk to each other without starting a fight. When Rip asked about Walkers hat and how he got it, then Walker answers the same about Rips truck, I lost it 😂

Walker was in prison but was not a criminal. His crime was an accident. He did not beat the guy to a bloody pulp. It was an unlucky punch. He was not suited for the job he was hired for. I like him and the moral dilemma he brings to the cast. Hope that he finds a home there but that they keep him away from the rough stuff.
"You want off this ranch, you got it. We get back, I'll drive your ass to the train station myself." LOL, Walker didn't know how close he came to death right there!
One of my favorite characters. This show reminds me so much of Sons of Anarchy. I know Sheridan produces this and also played in SOA. They’re both well written but I also see a lot of character similarities in both shows.
Walker is one of my favorite characters and as much as I like Rip, the fact he forced him and, yes, threatened his life upsets me. Rip didn't like that Walker refused to fight and he was jealous of Walker's fling with Beth and wanted to kill him for it. If Kayce had not rode up, Rip would have trampled and killed Walker with his horse. Walker's character got a raw deal in the first place by defending himself in a fight and subsequently going to jail for it. He just wants to do his job as a cowboy and play his music but, sadly, his life is no longer his own. ... PEACE.
You missed the point of that scene. Rip wasn't going to kill Walker. He needed to create a reason for him and Kayce to fight, so he went after Walker. Rip knew kayce would stop him, and they would fight it out so Rip could throw the fight, and Kayce would somehow be seen as the new leader. The only reason anything happened in that scene is because John asked Rip to sacrifice everything he had earned. Rip shouldn't be judged too harshly. Walker is a cowboy. He knew what getting branded meant, and he was told only the criminals have them.
Casey and Rip are like Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin, they listen to the Emperor (John Dutton) and help do the bidding of the Empire. Rip and Casey don’t over power one another but many times Darth Vader (Rip) is running things in combat and Tarkin (Casey) are running the military and building things for the Empire. Really good writing.

John is Vito, Kaycee is Michael, the son from season 1 is Sonny (he got killed) , Jamie is Fredo, the weak son that was getting punked in Vegas, Beth is Tom(Robert Duvall) the consultant, Rip is just the muscle and the cowboys are the goons. That's why this show is so good. The layout is classic.
I like how when Lloyd buys Walker the guitar, it's the first and only time you see Lloyd a little bit unsure, like you can see him shuffling around, he's not sure if it's a good or not. But he has a little bit of fear that really made the scene spectacular.

One of my favorite scenes is when Lloyd gives Walker the guitar and Walker plays him my favorite Ryan Bingham song, The Poet. Best way to end the video.
True dat.

And the incredible writing!!!
The black guy is way out of place
Always loved how walker challenged yellowstone and their ideology. He never sat down to it. Even with death around the corner.
True. Kayce letting him be free at the Wyoming border was golden. Both men understand how stupid humanity is and acknowledge that none of it matters.
Which is why Rip was right
@@anatomicalx9355 Rip is just a psychotic character written to get lonely housewives with nothing interesting going on in their lives horny.
Walker is arguably one of the most complicated characters of the show. Really respect the writers for developing his role as a cowboy, actor and singer/guitar player. Well done!
He was an asshole though
He’s not complicated at all. He’s just a former felon who doesn’t want to go back to prison for life
@@Chadius_Thundercock I agree with your assessment. Not that complicated but definitely multifaceted.
Walker is a liar at best, a coward at worst
Ryan Bingham is incredible. Thank you Taylor Sheridan for giving us more of Walker. I love his music and now I can see him on the best show on television since The Andy Griffith Show.
Walker the most level headed individual on the show.
Literally my man is just chilling trying to survive.
@@barefootbreezy6983 For real, I think a lot of people willingly overlook that basically all the characters are straight up psychotics in a cowboy cult haha.

Probably Kayce then Walker
I love Walker and Rip, and I love Lloyd, too. Glad to see Walker actually living up to the brand. I know it's not to be glorified, but what is Rip Wheeler with out loyalty and dedication.
It’s funny bc I’m so on walkers side. How hard would it have been to fricken explicitly TELL HIM what the brand meant? Rip basically trapped him into slavery. Just a little communication could have saved everyone this mess
That's what happened to Rip and he's been institutionalised by Yellowstone.
yeah most of the characters on the show are assholes but rip especially
@@Ben-fk9ey rip literally killed a second person, wanted nothing more than to join, and WAS EXPLICITLY TOLD what the brand meant.
@@Ben-fk9ey yes he was a child and institutionalized but the whole joining was in exchange for hiding the second body. They didn’t force him to join after just his father. And again the biggest thing, they literally told him the brand meant lifetime servitude, unlike walker
How did Rip trap him? Walker knew exactly what he was getting into when he started? He agreed to it outright. Even in just a few clips, Rip gives walker 3 separate chances to back out
Walker is my favorite. He never wanted trouble. He got his brand like Jimmie, falsely. Wanted a new clean way to live. When the Dutton Family was under attack, dang if Walker didn't come strolling out of the bunkhouse blazing a rifle.
Walker is definitely my favorite ❤️ He’s straight up ! Would of loved to see more of him in season 5 for sure. ❤️
Yeah. Jimmy and Walker got branded just because they had a criminal record. They were not bad men. Falsely branded is the right word.
I've binged this show in like 2 weeks. Can someone tell me why walker is such a hated character? He's literally the least psychotic character in the show
That’s why! All the mentals want to buddy up with other mentals. He isn’t one of them.
@@mircat28Exactly
Cuz he's one of the few with little bit of morals and a conscience....the others just do what they are told no question, and their solution is taking them to the train station....

Walker’s existence on this show fully exposes Rip’s bull crap.
Rip isn’t a cowboy, he’s just a hitman in a cowboy hat.
Tell me about it
Hes still a bully!!!
He (Rip) is always looking for a fight! That's not necessary...he shouldn't have beaten up Lloyd!! That was a bully in action! Cowardly!!
Everybody on that ranch has mental issues it doesn’t matter how much we love the character they are bullies, hit men, or pay hit men or were abused or traumatized. They all need freaking therapy or jail!
@@carolynmalone9871 Did you even watch the show? Rip didnt even want too hurt Lloyd they are best fucking friends. Learn what a real bully is bud cus Rip isnt even close.
In reality it's totally insane but as a dramatic neo-western with a somewhat "wild" world and them being a mafia organization I can roll with it.
The staffing plan is really bad, but the train station makes sense because it’s about a hundred miles from civilization.
When you own half the state and have a say on what goes on in the other half, very very little is going to go wrong, ever that you can’t ignore or buy or talk your way out of.
@@mircat28 All the more reason to hire a bunch of Kayce’s ex-SEAL buddies and pay them a shitload to be private security and do the ranch’s dirty work, rather than rounding up unreliable ex-cons outside the prison and pressuring them into violating parole

I love Rip's reaction to Walker saying he sucked plenty by the looks of his truck! Rip knew that was an outstanding comeback that he walked right into!

That opening scene where Rip hires Walker is so important. Giving men who've had to go through the prison system a second chance at life is vital to keeping them from going back.
@El Duderino LOL yeah I didn't really consider that when I wrote that comment. Also all the illegal stuff you'll be asked to do (which Walker justifiably balked at).

Walker was in prison but was not a criminal. His crime was an accident. He did not beat the guy to a bloody pulp. It was an unlucky punch. He was not suited for the job he was hired for. Aside from Jimmy, Walker has had the best character development on Yellowstone
I like how there’s no fighting on the ranch but rip does nothing but fight
One of my favorite characters. This show reminds me so much of Sons of Anarchy. I know Sheridan produces this and also played in SOA. They’re both well written but I also see a lot of character similarities in both shows.
holy shit! that tune he sang at the end,....... man that moves the heart
He just wants to do his job as a cowboy and play his music but, sadly, his life is no longer his own. ... PEACE.
Sheila Burns, I agree but Walker made his decision to get the brand, he wasn't forced to! Love the show and can't wait for S5.✌️👌🙏

Rip should get his own show or spin off show because he killed this show really good
Llyods exhale when Walker says it’s a better guitar
Lloyd knew he was wrong and saw himself In walker… this is how all quarrels should be settled… shakes hand and keep pushing
I like how when Lloyd buys Walker the guitar, it's the first and only time you see Lloyd a little bit unsure, like you can see him shuffling around, he's not sure if it's a good or not. But he has a little bit of fear that really made the scene spectacular.
Walker is my favorite character
I love how even teeter tears up when he's singing
"You'll never meet a man that has killed more men than me, but I ain't never murdered one", dammit Casey, stop one upping everyone.

something that absolutely drives me nuts about this show is how they make the Cummins sound like gas engines
